Mathematics – The New Social Justice!

Sorry, I haven’t posted here in a couple of months – Fall is such an interesting and driving time. Family in my house always comes first and we have had our share of “family affairs” since August, but all is good. Better than in our schools which have slid off the mountain tops into “social justice” so far I am afraid we will never find our way out.

I started posting about how they are using the different subjects taught t our children to push social justice and now the big one is in how they are manipulating Math to address the subject.

Learning by the Bible to do good, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause and help your fellow man is NOT Social Justice, but being a decent Human Being!

Unless we as a whole stand up and say, “NO MORE – GET YOUR HANDS AND IDEAS AWAY FROM OUR CHILDREN AND JUST TEACH THEM” – nothing is going to change. It isn’t going to change because they don’t care about our kids – and theirs go to private schools.

Since most of our legislators have discovered a way to make a lot of money from owning Charter schools and aligning up with multi corporations, I wonder how much they are going to make endorsing and passing legislation regarding vouchers.

I first started researching education when Obama’s take-over ideas began to leak out even before he was elected. Make note parents, George H. Bush was no friend of our children any more than Bill Clinton, the other snake Bushes, Bill Ayers, Lamar Alexander, Rothschilds, Rockefeller’s and the Soros clan.

All of you parents whose children are in the IB Program – are you aware that is a UN/UNESCO curriculum that is Marxist/socialist and in a very subtle way, and costs your schools millions in the long run and the worst of all, it is proprietary and must be accepted for what it teaches – nothing can be changed and textbooks come from them. It does not have to conform to our education curriculum.

One of the first things that really rocked me was in how our children were to learn math and the fact that it didn’t matter if the answers were correct or not, but how they had obtained their answers. So, what I had heard was true, 2+2 = 4 was not the only answer a person could have for this equation; 1+2 could equal 4, 5+4 could equal 4 – it was all ok, just the way you worked the problems and came to your answer was important.

ReThinking MathematicsThis seemed stupid to me so I went researching. The first book I found was “Rethinking Mathematics” by Eric Gutstein, a professor of Mathematics at the Univ. of Illinois in Chicago.

I wasn’t surprised as to where he came from having already researched the damage Arnie Duncan had done to the Chicago schools before Obama was elected.

This book uses Gutstein’s interpretation of social injustices mostly in America and enjoins that to Mathematical Q & A. It reads almost as if he had taken the writings from within the Earth Charter and converted it to Math.

“In this new expanded and updated edition of Rethinking Mathematics, more than 50 articles show how to weave social justice issues throughout the mathematics curriculum, as well as how to integrate mathematics into other curricular areas.”

Rethinking Mathematics” offers teaching ideas, lesson plans, and reflections by practitioners and mathematics educators. This is real-world math – math that helps students analyze social problems as they gain essential academic skills.”

“This book offers hope and guidance for teachers to enliven and strengthen their math teaching. It will deepen students understanding of society and help prepare them to be critical, active participants in a democracy. Blending theory and practice, this is the only resource of its kind.”  (Thank God).

Teaching Mathematics for Social JusticeUnfortunately, it is NOT the only one of its kind. Take “Teaching Mathematics for Social Justice” by David Stinson. The author says “Educators increasingly recognize the important role that mathematics teaching plays in helping students to understand and overcome social injustice and inequality. This collection of original articles is the start of a compelling conversation among some of the leading figures in critical and social justice mathematics, a number of teachers and educators who have been inspired by them and who have inspiring stories of their own to tell and any reader interested in the intersection of education and social justice. An important read for every educator, this book shows how to teach mathematics so that all students are given the tools they need to confront issues of social justice today and in the future.”

This is another wake-up call as to who is teaching your kids. The educators can know all about our families, but we aren’t supposed to know anything about the person that spends the most time with our children.

Something is very wrong with this picture! Especially since the really good teachers have left teaching and have been replaced by Teach for America teachers who in most cases graduated NOT having a degree in Education and non-certified teachers are being allowed to teach. Check with your local school boards on certification laws.

Both books imply we have been racist in the teaching of math. Since when did one half of the classroom learn from one Math book and the other half a different book?

The spoken and unspoken belief about black students is tied to broader perceptions about black people. So, let’s just say it: Some believe the gap is a function of weak family and community structures, male joblessness, drug use, and permissive cultural values—which they assert predominate in the black community.

What is your “social rational” for the white boys out on the streets selling the dope, beating up women, and causing riots?

Others believe that blacks constitute a community that is largely beyond intervention and that no amount of funding or special programs can fix what ails the perpetually troubled. If this is true liberal democrats, then why is it every education bill you pass is directed at low-income areas?

Is it because the whitey’s that think so much of themselves continually try to drum this nonsense into the black children of this country. You continually tell them they will never amount to anything, don’t even try to get into college and the good one – you will never get a job of any meaning to be able to support a family.

Then these evil men and women like to say that any black child who has asserted themselves to be able to go to college then what they have done is outsmart the stereotype which has been set up and they refer to them as “outliers” – something or someone that lies outside the main body or group that it is a part of, as a cow far from the rest of the herd, or maybe a black or Hispanic child saying, “you are all are wrong, I will succeed”.

These erroneous and insulting beliefs persist out there because they are repeated by a constant recitation of negative statistics about blacks and now also Hispanics in the research literature and unrelenting circulated news accounts. Such wrong and deceitful assertions negate accurate and meaningful portrayals of black and Hispanic people. Mostly, they are misdirecting education and social policy and have skewed funding priorities in education by their constant legislation aimed at “low-income” families.

Regrettably, Americans have been socialized by the scholarly and journalism communities to accept at face value negative data and false information about blacks and been trained to also believe their colored students will “never make anything of themselves”.

Now the new thing is to be sure that middle and high school teachers learn how to incorporate social justice items such as racism and chosen privilege into their classrooms. Who is making the decisions as to what is to be considered “social justice”?

To what end? Here again, they have chosen a “subject” to cause “race baiting” causing hate and discontent.

Many of us who are researching and complaining about how education has been “handled” for the past 10 years (it has been longer but has intensified in the past 10 years through the UN and their wacky “social justice” they apply to whatever as the need arises) understand what is behind this ugly race-baiting.

We have been aware of the teaching of those who sign on to “Teach for America” and they along with edX have now designed a course they have called “Teaching Social Justice Through Secondary Mathematics” is being pushed through a 6-week course for MIDDLE SCHOOL teachers and you can even take online courses from top universities like Columbia. The course intent is to incorporate social justice into their curricula.

According to the course developers, regular math is “too abstract” for many students, and incorporating social justice can help them better understand “the power and meaning” of math.

Pinging directly to the Math classes the question posed is “Do you ask students to think deeply about global and local social justice issues within your mathematics classroom?”

edX is a massive open online course provider. It hosts online university-level courses in a wide range of disciplines to a worldwide student body and it was created by MIT and Harvard University.

Part of the problem I see here is the fact edX states they are ” founded by and continue to be governed by colleges and universities. We are the only leading MOOC provider that is both nonprofit and open source. This is one of the big problems since most universities and colleges today are very liberal and have no time for our students when they object to their bias.

The point is they are supposed to blend their math instruction with topics such as poverty, privilege, and inequity to “transform students into GLOBAL THINKERS & MATHEMATICIANS”.

Does this mean knowing and understanding Math alone will not make you a great Mathematician, and you also must believe in “sustainable development and climate change”?

This is Soviet/Nazi type education – brainwashing at its worst. You see the true meaning of “sustainable development” is to get rid of capitalism, we need mathematicians who are supporting the one to achieve the other.

These manipulating, conniving liars will tell you that Math is evil because there is no ethics behind it. This is definitely a form of dehumanizing our children so that population control will not bother them; it will change their outlook on abortion; teach them there are different classes of genocide and sometimes it is a good thing – needed.

A recent article by D. Susan Berry “Common Core Rooted in Math Social Indoctrination” states, “While proponents of the Common Core claim that the new standards are focused on “college and career readiness,” more evidence is surfacing that a central purpose of the initiative is social justice and income redistribution indoctrination.

I agree, and as I stated in my 2 previous postings regarding the G20, Link, Link, the UN and all their supporters who believe they will someday rule the world, know their focus must be in indoctrinating our children to not only believe in “sustainable development”, but support it without question.

That is why they are now working at pushing these climate and social justice lies so hard because time is short and they keep changing their mindset as to what is going to work. Fortunately, enough of us are awake and more are seeing what is happening, their job is getting harder.

We have socialist, Marxist-Communists surrounding our children like Bill Ayers, Linda-Darling Hammond, Bill Gates, Bushes – more and more – coming up with more ideas all the time.

Radical Math” boasts over 700 lesson plans, articles, charts, books, and websites that cover a wide range of socio-political issues including redistribution of wealth, discrimination against the poor by whites and the message that widespread racism against blacks continues in the United States today.

Sorry liberals and UN baiters, most Americans got past your race baiting years ago. We have learned to look at the person not the color of his skin. The next thing to come out will be the use of Math and other subjects as the basis for our distrust of Muslims.

For me, I read their Quŕan to understand where they are coming from!

Social Justice is what “they” are using to say capitalism has created the poor and inequality of the world. Those two items have been around since Moses and yet Pope Francis, the very Pope who shakes hands with Rick Warren acknowledging “Chrislam” states “inequality is the root of social evil”.

Knowing my history as I do I would like to point out there has been extreme social evil in the Catholic church (and we know there has) since the Pope and his Cardinals and Bishops rein over the lower levels of the poor in the church. Francis also has stated capitalists have gotten rich from war and if my History is with me, the Vatican Bank got very full with the church’s collaboration with the Nazi’s and the Catholic church has reigned over others for centuries.

I for one will not share what I have worked for to survive for so many years with others unless I deem them needy which is called Charity, not social justice. I follow no lead or instructions of a socialist Pope who cannot even keep his own house but is looking away or participating in the indoctrination of our children through phony ideology and perception.

I see the “root of social evil” adults of any kind forcing sex upon children!

LIBERTY!

Once again I have to apologize to my readers. We took a long, well deserved vacation visiting family, a convention and a bit of genealogy wandering through several cemeteries old in New England.

While gone I got a major sinus infection which knocked me for a loop and we actually came back early. We will be off again the end of September and I can’t wait for that trip and tell my education followers about who I visited with. I am at this point in anticipation, excited about the coming trip.

The following is an article I wrote earlier this week and it was published on the CapitolHillInsider.com. I hope you all understand the point I was trying to get across – some of the readers did not, but then they never do.

Back fresh from a very well-deserved vacation, I woke up this morning to find certain so-called news agencies believing we are celebrating the Constitution today rather than the Declaration of Independence. One agency even having George Washington sitting on his horse at Gettysburg.

I was surprised that some of them weren’t telling us today was the national holiday of Beer, Hot Dogs and Hamburg’s and Fireworks!

It is sad to note so many Americans have so little regard for our country including our elected officials. On the brink of celebrating our 241st birthday, we had seven congressmen who voted against Kate’s Law.

How do you vote against the safety and welfare of your citizens over those who are here, not only illegally, but have committed crimes and murdered citizens of our own country?

George Washington and many of the founders have been quoted enough for people to know how they felt about this country and what they saw her future to be.

America has always been a compassionate country and at the same time selfless, but that never meant the welfare of the people of this country didn’t come first.

Eight months before he was elected to be our first president, George Washington wrote to Francis Van der Kemp, “I had always hoped that this land might become a safe & agreeable Asylum to the virtuous & persecuted part of mankind, to whatever nation they might belong.” He went on to clarify that he welcomed “persons of moderate property, who are determined to be sober, industrious & virtuous members of Society.”

This doesn’t sound like a man who was willing to fill this country with those who would murder us or even take over our country.

Washington was like a coach handpicking the best players for his team, unashamed of stocking the nation’s vast lands with those who would most benefit the United States.

Just remember when Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (Fla.),  Carlos Curbelo (Fla.), Mario Diaz-Balart (Fla.), Dan Donovan (N.Y.), Peter King (N.Y.), Dave Reichert (Wash.) and Justin Amash (Mich.) run for office again, they are willing to take your hard earned money in the form of salaries, pensions and healthcare (which I remind you they were unwilling to participate in Obamacare), but they are not willing to protect you and your families over illegals. And all seven are Republicans.

It is no wonder with the lack of interest in truly vetting candidates that this country is in the mess it is.

Those who follow some of these rags would most likely say what is the difference whether we are celebrating the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence? Who cares, it’s just another holiday. But if they truly cared about their country, they would make sure the truth is always presented.

Some always come up with reasons they think our country isn’t perfect – what country is? They are all run by humans who error and cheat on a regular basis.

Why is it important to remember the Declaration of Independence came before the Constitution on July 4, 1776? Because the 2 documents gave Americans specific things.

The Declaration of Independence gave us the source of our POWER which comes from the PEOPLE. Our RIGHTS declaring, we are all created EQUAL, and that those rights come from our CREATOR and with that we are endowed with certain UNALIENABLE RIGHTS and among those are LIFE, LIBERTY and the pursuit of HAPPINESS.

Hey Hollywood, try living in North Korea, Russia, Saudi Arabia or even Canada like you said you were going to and see if you have these things!

Some historians would have you believe King George III was a good guy and compared to most of his predecessors he was. England was constantly being plagued by Kings who were greedy, wanting to finance their own adventures through the taxation of the people.  It really wasn’t so different than it is now with our lawmakers.

If you remember, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were so well written because of the history of rights and wrongs which had been carried out against the English people since the early 1100’s.

King John, popularized by the tale of Robin Hood and Hollywood (who by the way was not robbing the rich and giving to the poor, but returning oppressive taxes back into to the hands of the people), took over while his brother Richard the Lion-Heart was fighting in the Crusades.

It was said of King John that he “plundered his own people”, he was “cruel towards all men” and “Hell itself was fouled by the presence of John”.  In 1207 King John introduced the first income tax in England.  Taxation at that time was established at one thirteenth of “rents and moveable property”.   Taxes were collected locally by sheriffs and administered by the Exchequer.  His brutal policies and excessive taxation brought him into conflict with his barons, the land and business owners. Taxes imposed by King John were excessive to the point of oppression.  This made no difference to the King as these taxes served to double his income for each year, and served to finance his adventures.  Though the taxes levied by John were excessive, he is most known for his punishments against defaulters.

When I read about King John he reminds me of the way things are being done throughout our government today – the only difference is, today it is being carried out by 535+ King John’s with no real regard for the people they say they are serving. Everything is mouth service!

John was ruthless, showing favor only to those who suited his needs (lobbyists).  King John’s excessive and ruthless taxation lead to a rebellion of the barons resulting in the adoption of the Magna Carta.  The Magna Carta of 1215 made the King promise that no taxes except the regular feudal dues were to be levied, and except by the consent of the Great Council, or Parliament.

It was the Magna Carta which laid out a great deal of the wording of both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

The Constitution gave us the Preamble declaring it is “We the People” – not the states that are in control. The people, not any other entity or authority, are the source of governmental power under the Constitution.

The purpose of each document is important in that the Declaration of Independence gave the reasons for our separation from England and explained how the PEOPLE were to control government. The Constitution laid out our form of government.

Sadly, those who wish to turn our country into a One World Government have had enough influence on our children’s education or lack of, with the elimination of any history prior to 1865 being presented to our children, they are slowly ruining our country. Liberal publishers have been allowed to eliminate facts, distort information, give more fodder to liberal history over Republican and more space to Islam religion than Christian.

If our young Americans had been properly educated regarding these founding documents and the founders themselves, they would never even think about following a man like Bernie Sanders for President of this country. They wouldn’t have had to make up excuses as to why Ted Cruz was eligible to be President.

It doesn’t matter that on September 14, 2009, the U.S. House passed H.RES 686, Rep. Alan Grayson -D (FL) referred to as the “Teach the Constitution Week” bill.  The problem is the bill doesn’t mandate or demand high schools are to spend just one week each September teaching the United States Constitution to high school seniors – the bill urges them to do so. It also encouraged students to petition the government on an issue of personal importance to them to demonstrate their understanding of their rights and responsibilities as citizens of the United States.

How can our up and coming students petition the government on an issue of personal importance to them to demonstrate their understanding of their rights and responsibilities as citizens of the United States if they don’t even understand what is covered within the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence. Today they go around assuming this or that to make sure they have their liberty and rights, but they have no idea they already have them firmly planted within those documents.

Why are we not requiring History to be taught, especially American History, more than one week in September and why are we waiting until their high school years?

Grayson’s bill was a “smoke and mirrors” move to appease the parents and educators who were complaining our children were NOT being taught the founding documents. And they still are not!

Why has a traditionally “core subject”, which was ranked in the same academic hierarchy as English, Science, and Math for decades, been silenced in thousands of American classrooms?

For starters, you can go and read the “1934 Conclusions and Recommendations of the Carnegie Committee – American Historical Assoc. Investigation of the Social Studies in the Schools” and if that doesn’t show you what has been happening try “Research About Teaching and Learning – 1st & 2nd Editions“.

But parents I’m not here to punish you, so as an alternative, if you read this small wonderful 47 page booklet “Back to Basics Reform” it will lay out the groundwork as to the ruination of our children’s education and the demise of our country as we know it because of it.

Bluntly put, America’s schools are dangerously obsolete. Instead of teaching students to be critical thinkers and problem-solvers, we are asking them to memorize facts for multiple choice tests. This problem isn’t limited to low-income school districts: even our top schools aren’t teaching or testing the skills that matter most.

Critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication, the top three skills are not being taught in America’s public schools.

Rather than being equipped with the skills to formulate their own conclusions, or solve a problem that may have multiple solutions, students are taught to regurgitate data that has been drummed into their heads in a school classroom. Any classroom these days whether it is public, charter, private or pushed by vouchers. It is the lack of GREAT information that is being left out.

They may be able to tell you when the Declaration of Independence was signed, but why it was signed or what it meant for the history of the world eludes them. (And judging by students’ scores on civics tests, they may not even know the date for the signing.)

I cannot encourage parents enough to begin Home Schooling their children. Charter schools and vouchers are being drummed into everyone’s heads because it still gives the government and others CONTROL over the Education and Future of your children.

Someone please explain to me what good it does to send your child to a “Classical Charter School” or Private school by a Voucher when they are still using Common Core aligned curriculum and standardized tests?

At the same time, I do NOT support Mike Huckabee’s “Learn Our History” series. Not only are the reviews bad, the series are very expensive. I cannot support a man such as Huckabee who couldn’t wait to align himself with Jeb Bush and the Common Core Agenda, then as a minister lies to his TV audience’s as to no longer supporting CC and 2 months later has lunch with the CCSSO telling them to preserve the CC by “renaming or rebranding” it and soon enough parents won’t even know their children are still using it. THIS IS A MAN OF THE CLOTH?  LINK

Today is about our LIFE, LIBERTY and the pursuit of HAPPINESS and you have had these since July 4, 1776. The fact some Americans and foreigners want to turn those three things into something else is an entirely different issue.

We are 50 FREE and INDEPENDENT STATES – not a ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT for King Georges to rule over us.

Read the Declaration of Independence at least once a week to fully understand what was given to you. No country is perfect, but you will NEVER find one that is any better than this one.

If A High School Paper Staff Could Smell Something Rotten, Why Can’t We?

“How many parents … send their children to school so central planners can mold them into functionally illiterate cogs in a centrally planned machine, having just enough knowledge to do their preassigned task? How will such cogs be able to think critically, much less sustain liberty and the American experiment? The short answer is that they will not – and that is the point. Samuel Blumenfeld and Alex Newman

“Crimes of the Educators – How Utopians are using government schools to destroy America’s children”

I have in the past brought up the topic of how parents are not allowed to know anything about their children’s teachers or principals, but they can know everything about you and your family.

Under Obama’s Federal Education Dept. and the Common Core Data Mining intrusion, teachers were encouraged to ask their students personal family questions to be reported in the children’s files.

  • Do your Mom and Dad Fight?
  • Do you go to church and where?
  • Does your Dad/Mom have a gun?
  • Do your parents fight?

Thankfully a small Kansas High School newspaper staff felt there was something very wrong about their new principal’s credentials. The students first began by checking on her credentials and they found several discrepancies. Amy Robertson, the newly hired principal had stated she had attended a private university, Corllins University, where she received her master’s and doctorate degrees years ago. The students found the university’s website didn’t work and they could find no evidence it was an accredited university.

Things began to heat up when the students published an article in the school paper questioning the legitimacy of the principal’s degrees and her supposed work as an education consultant. The following Tuesday Robertson resigned.

A very important question here is why the hiring school board had not already done this work?

Robertson’s resignation thrust the students into the state and national news,  with professional journalists nationwide applauding the students for asking tough questions and prompting a change in their administration.

The student’s newspaper advisor Emily Smith said people were telling them to “stop poking your nose where it doesn’t belong”, but Smith went on to say the students were at a loss that it was so easy for them to see what was just waiting for the adults to see.

In their article, a team of six students — five juniors and one senior — revealed that Corllins had been portrayed in a number of articles as a diploma mill, a place where people can buy a degree, diploma or certificates. Corllins is not accredited by the U.S. Department of Education, the students reported. The Better Business Bureau’s website says Corllins’s physical address is unknown and the school isn’t a BBB-accredited institution.

Connor Balthazor, 17 said, “All of this was completely overlooked. All of the shining reviews did not have these crucial pieces of information … you would expect your authority figures to find this.”

In putting the frosting on the cake, Robertson had been living in Dubai for more than 20 years before being hired as the school’s principal. Robertson had also stated before being hired that all three of her degrees had been “authenticated by the U.S. government.”

Watch their video –

Rare occurrence? Sorry, I am afraid not! Teachers around the country are presenting their personal and social agenda’s to your children and telling them to NOT tell their parents and seeking jobs in charter schools where it is much easier to get a job if you are uncertified.

We have schools/leadership training all across this country for LGBTQ, Social Justice, Tolerance, Diversity, Equity and Justice and with some teachers, it sits at the head of their classrooms every day of the week.

GLSEN

Did you all forget Obama’s appointment of the country’s first “Safe Schools Czar” Kevin Jennings, a full-fledged GLSEN man – a man known in gay circles for his close proximity to children? No one is saying he is a pedophile, but I have always believed his work was to indoctrinate and recruit young children to “believe” they were gay.

Recently the news broke, that FACULTY members of a charter school in Sandpoint, Idaho were recruiting students to join a “secret gay club”, concealing their activism from parents.

Mary Jensen, the principal of Forrest M. Bird Charter School, colluded with community activists to establish a Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) club at Sandpoint Jr. High School and admitted they acted under secrecy,

“We’re keeping it kind of on the down low because this is North Idaho,” Jensen said in a recording obtained by the nonprofit legal organization. “Kids who wanted to participate in the club did not necessarily want their parents to know.”

School employees even went so far as to hold off-campus meetings with potential GSA students at a local library, without parental consent or involvement.

The club came to light when Jensen, along with staff members Michael Bigley and Becky Campbell, invited a student to participate in the club. When the student’s parents found out, they made it clear to the school’s administration they did not want their child involved. The school ignored the parents’ wishes and continued to send the student to GSA meetings during school hours, and on school property.

What is happening in your schools?

  • A Hillsborough County Public School teacher in Tampa, FL who just happens to be lesbian tried to ban students from wearing crosses to school because she views them as “gang symbols” and blatantly promotes a pro-LGBT agenda,” reportedly retweeted during the school day “favorite queer web series for kids”. The teacher is also a member of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network’s Leadership Institute (GLSEN).
  • Further, she put LGBT stickers on the notebooks her class uses. Her lesbian partner, also a teacher, “dressed as a nun for a school spirit week, complete with a ‘cross necklace’ made of skulls,’ and she singled out students for “false ‘misbehavior’ allegations” after they removed the LGBT stickers.
  • The After School Satanic Clubs, (ASSC) created and pushed by the Satanic Temple are gaining approval around the country with one opening in a Portland, Oregon elementary school. Their leader claims they are “entitled” to have their after school program wherever the schools are allowing the Good News Clubs to gather. The leader Finn Rezz stated, “Our goal, ultimately, is to place an ASSC in every school where the Good News Clubs, or other proselytizing religious groups, have established a presence,”

After school satanic clubs

But parents, Satanism is not a recognized religion so where are you and what is wrong with your school boards? You do understand don’t you that most of those involved in Human Trafficking and things like Pizzagate are Satanists?

Have you ever heard of the Social Justice Training Institute? One of their faculty, Becky Martinez brags “what I define as my ‘light-switch’ is my role as a change agent.

The quote at the top of this blog was written by the authors of the book “Crimes of the Educators” and it was first published a couple of years ago just before Sam passed away. Sam Blumenfeld was an educator with integrity, loved children and despised what was happening to our children through education. He previously had authored eight books on education and also created a system for teaching your child to read the “right” way. called “Alpha-Phonics. You can find the video’s here.

In Sam and Alex’s book, they explain how in the U.S. utopians, or “progressives,” have tried to destroy traditional America by strategically dumbing down her people. America’s future is being crippled on purpose in order to fundamentally transform the nation, its values and its system of government. Laid out a century ago by progressive luminary John Dewey, the fruits of his schemes are plain to see today. Dewey got rid of the traditional intensive phonics method of instruction and imposed a “look-say,” “sight” or “whole-word” method that forces children to read English as if it were Chinese. The method is widely used in today’s public schools, which is a major reason there are so many failing public schools that cannot teach children the basics. This can only be considered a blatant form of child abuse.

Crimes of the Educators“Crimes of the Educators” reveals how the architects of America’s public school disaster implemented a plan to socialize the United States by knowingly and willingly dumbing down the population, a mission now closer to success than ever as the Obama administration works relentlessly to nationalize K-12 schooling with Common Core.

This blogger makes no money from promoting this book and every parent concerned about what is happening through the education of their children should read it and know exactly how and what is planned. Link

Just How Far Are We Willing To Let This Social Justice Fraud Go? The UN Must Go!

But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those but those that be of men. Matthew 16:23

It is all one sided – the left side and no matter who you ask to give you the definition of social justice, you will get a different answer each time.

Social Justice was introduced under the arms of  UNESCO and is now being taught in our classrooms across the country and around the world. Social justice is an ideology being used to support equality and solidarity in regard to any given issue at any given time in society by designating a small group as the victim of the moment.

The United Nations supported a three-year project between 2001-2004 “The International Forum for Social Development:  Social Justice in an Open World – The Role of the United Nations.”

Social Justice is one of the founding principles of various forms of socialism, communism, fascism, globalism, progressivism and cooperative economic organizations, implemented through progressive taxation, redistribution of wealth, and even property redistribution. Add to that the lies surrounding Climate Change voiced by their own Christiana Figueres, the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), who stated in 2015, “This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time to change the economic development model that has been in place for at least 150 years, since the industrial revolution. That will not happen overnight and it will not happen at a single conference on climate change, be it COP 15, 21, 40 — you choose the number. It just does not occur like that. It is a process, because of the depth of the transformation to rid the world of capitalism.”

All this is being taught in our schools! And do not believe that just because your child is attending a Charter/Choice/Private/Voucher school they are protected from this agenda.

Have you really thought about why the 20-35 age group of Americans were supporting Bernie Sanders for President? Because he was offering them everything for free. No responsibility for anything – that was to go to someone else and when we run out of someone else’s money, anarchy ensues.

Jack Chambless, an Economics Professor at Valencia College in Orlando, Florida in 2011 sent an article to The Orlando Sentinel entitled The American Dream. His students were told to write an essay explaining their definition of the “American Dream” and what they expected the federal government to do to help them achieve their version of their American dream.

“When contemplating the role of Washington, D.C., in helping them achieve their goals in life, my students, most of whom were educated in America’s public schools, wrote that they wanted the government to:

pay for my tuition
provide me with a job
give me money for a house
make sure I get free health care
pay for my retirement
raise taxes on rich people so that I can have more money, etc.

We can safely assume these students believed there were no expectations that they would have to contribute to achieving these things on their part.  Self-responsibility is a thing of the past along with consequences for their actions. Certainly, we can expect no less reasoning when people like the Clinton’s, Podesta and others in government can continue to commit fraud and bring about corruption and still walk the streets and sleep in their own beds at night.

What our youth today are not being taught is that there are consequences to the government controlling your life. Take one red penny from the government and they own you, lock, stock, and barrel.

When your child comes home from school with the UNESCO message talking about world brotherhood, are you going to contradict the Christmas message of peace on earth and tell him or her that all men are not brothers?

When your child comes home from school talking about “the world society of the future”, are you going to tell him it is wrong “to love his neighbor”?

If you would rather question what I am telling you, that the destruction of the United States has been and is planned to be carried out through the UN/UNESCO using your children as the tools, please go here and here and read the official documents showing what has and is taking place right here and around the world. They are using “social justice” as a method to soften your children to believe animals are more important than human beings and that everyone and everything are equal except those of us who are not supporting this conspiracy and our children are being taught WE are the bad guys.

Read this and then read the Communist Manifesto and re-read the notations in the previous paragraph and see if you end up having the same trust in your government you had before you began reading this. And all of this is going on in your child’s classrooms.

Paul Harvey’s Warning To America – ‘If I Were the Devil’

“If I were the prince of darkness, I would want to engulf the whole world in darkness. I’d have a third of its real estate and four-fifths of its population, but I would not be happy until I had seized the ripest apple on the tree — thee. So, I would set about, however, necessary to take over the United States.

“I’d subvert the churches first, and I would begin with a campaign of whispers. With the wisdom of a serpent, I would whisper to you as I whispered to Eve: ‘Do as you please.’

“To the young, I would whisper that the Bible is a myth. I would convince the children that man created God instead of the other way around. I’d confide that what’s bad is good and what’s good is square. And the old, I would teach to pray after me, ‘Our Father, which art in Washington …’

“Then, I’d get organized, I’d educate authors in how to make lurid literature exciting so that anything else would appear dull and uninteresting. I’d peddle narcotics to whom I could. I’d sell alcohol to ladies and gentlemen of distinction. I’d tranquilize the rest with pills.

“If I were the devil, I’d soon have families at war with themselves, churches at war with themselves and nations at war with themselves until each, in its turn, was consumed. And with promises of higher ratings, I’d have mesmerizing media fanning the flames.

“If I were the devil, I would encourage schools to refine young intellect but neglect to discipline emotions. I’d tell teachers to let those students run wild. And before you knew it, you’d have drug-sniffing dogs and metal detectors at every schoolhouse door.

“With a decade, I’d have prisons overflowing and judges promoting pornography. Soon, I would evict God from the courthouse and the schoolhouse and then from the houses of Congress. In his own churches, I would substitute psychology for religion and deify science. I’d lure priests and pastors into misusing boys and girls and church money.

“If I were the devil, I’d take from those who have and give to those who wanted until I had killed the incentive of the ambitious. What’ll you bet I couldn’t get whole states to promote gambling as the way to get rich?

“I’d convince the young that marriage is old-fashioned, that swinging is more fun and that what you see on television is the way to be. And thus, I could undress you in public and lure you into bed with diseases for which there are no cures.

“In other words, if I were the devil, I’d just keep right on doing what he’s doing.”

Whether you believe in the devil or not, these changes have taken place. What was once stigmatized as deviant behavior is now tolerated and even sanctioned; what was once regarded as abnormal has been normalized. … As deviancy is normalized, so what was once normal becomes deviant. The kind of family that has been regarded for centuries as natural and moral – the ‘bourgeois’ family as it is invidiously called – is now seen as pathological.”

We have nowhere to go from here but to take back control of what was once rightfully ours and understand the “social justice” trap is just that – another Trap!

The PARCC Test: Exposed [excerpts deleted under legal threat from PARCC]

I love sharing others blog posting! Not because I want to share in their glory, but because the education of our children is so important and parents need to know all the back ally’s and twist and turns being used to remove our REPRESENTATIVE GOVERNMENT and the “DUMBING” DOWN of OUR children.

At this stage of the game I cannot state strong enough how important it is to get your children enrolled in a “Home School Coalition”. Even if you have to work, “where there is a will there is a way”.  LINK I say this not because of any lack of support for teachers on my part, but because of the laws being passed by non-educators and the curriculum and standardized testing being thrown at our children. There are many very good teachers who have left the profession because of these things and would probably be glad to work with you in a coalition situation.

I, of course, cannot share this brave teachers name with you because I don’t know it, but the information is very important. Parents need to take information like this to their school boards and ask them point blank what their objective is in giving our children this type of education. Nothing says your school district cannot “opt out” when needed. Please share this article’s information far and wide across this country.

Penny For Thoughts

The author of this blog posting is a public school teacher who will remain anonymous.

I will not reveal my district or my role due to the intense legal ramifications for exercising my Constitutional First Amendment rights in a public forum. I was compelled to sign a security form that stated I would not be “Revealing or discussing passages or test items with anyone, including students and school staff, through a verbal exchange, email, social media, or any other form of communication” as this would be considered a “Security Breach.” In response to this demand, I can only ask—whom are we protecting?

There are layers of not-so-subtle issues that need to be aired as a result of national and state testing policies that are dominating children’s lives in America. As any well-prepared educator knows, curriculum planning and teaching requires knowing how you will assess your students and planning backward from that knowledge. If teachers are unable to examine and discuss the summative assessment for their students, how can they plan their instruction? Yet, that very question assumes that this test is something worth planning for. The fact is that schools that try to plan their curriculum exclusively to prepare students for this test are ignoring the body of educational research that tells us how children learn, and how to create developmentally appropriate activities to engage students in the act of learning. This article will attempt to provide evidence for these claims as a snapshot of what is happening as a result of current policies.

The PARCC test is developmentally inappropriate

In order to discuss the claim that the PARCC test is “developmentally inappropriate,” examine three of the most recent PARCC 4th grade items.

A book leveling system, designed by Fountas and Pinnell, was made “more rigorous” in order to match the Common Core State Standards. These newly updated benchmarks state that 4th Graders should be reading at a Level S by the end of the year in order to be considered reading “on grade level.” [Celia’s note: I do not endorse leveling books or readers, nor do I think it appropriate that all 9-year-olds should be reading a Level S book to be thought of as making good progress.]

The PARCC, which is supposedly a test of the Common Core State Standards, appears to have taken liberties with regard to grade level texts. For example, in the Spring 2016 PARCC for 4th Graders, students were expected to read an excerpt from[deleted under legal threat by Parcc] According to Scholastic, this text is at an interest level for Grades 9-12, and at a 7th Grade reading level. The Lexile measure is 1020L, which is most often found in texts that are written for middle school, and according to Scholastic’s own conversion chart would be equivalent to a 6th-grade benchmark around W, X, or Y (using the same Fountas and Pinnell scale).

Even by the reform movement’s own standards, according to MetaMetrics’ reference material on Text Complexity Grade Bands and Lexile Bands, the newly CCSS aligned “Stretch” Lexile level of 1020 falls in the 6-8 grade range. This begs the question, what is the purpose of standardizing text complexity bands if testing companies do not have to adhere to them? Also, what is the purpose of a standardized test that surpasses agreed-upon Lexile levels?

So, right out of the gate, 4th graders are being asked to read and respond to texts that are two grade levels above the recommended benchmark. After they struggle through difficult texts with advanced vocabulary and nuanced sentence structures, they then have to answer multiple choice questions that are, by design, intended to distract students with answers that appear to be correct except for some technicality.

Finally, students must synthesize two or three of these advanced texts and compose an original essay. The ELA portion of the PARCC takes three days, and each day includes a new essay prompt based on multiple texts. These are the prompts from the 2016 Spring PARCC exam for 4th Graders along with my analysis of why these prompts do not reflect the true intention of the Common Core State Standards.

ELA 4TH GRADE PROMPT #1

[deleted under legal threat by Parcc]

The above prompt probably attempts to assess the Common Core standard RL.4.5: “Explain major differences between poems, drama, and prose, and refer to the structural elements of poems (e.g., verse, rhythm, meter) and drama (e.g., casts of characters, settings, descriptions, dialogue, stage directions) when writing or speaking about a text.”

However, the Common Core State Standards for writing do not require students to write essays comparing the text structures of different genres. The Grade 4 CCSS for writing about reading demand that students write about characters, settings, and events in literature, or that they write about how authors support their points in informational texts. Nowhere in the standards are students asked to write comparative essays on the structures of writing. The reading standards ask students to “explain” structural elements, but not in writing. There is a huge developmental leap between explaining something and writing an analytical essay about it. [Celia’s note: The entire enterprise of analyzing text structures in elementary school – a 1940’s and 50’s college English approach called “New Criticism” — is ridiculous for 9-year-olds anyway.]

The PARCC does not assess what it attempts to assess

ELA 4TH GRADE PROMPT #2

[deleted under legal threat by Parcc]

It would be a stretch to say that this question assesses CCSS W.4.9.B: “Explain how an author uses reasons and evidence to support particular points in a text.”

In fact, this prompt assesses a student’s ability to research a topic across sources and write a research-based essay that synthesizes facts from both articles. Even CCSS W.4.7, “Conduct research projects that build knowledge through investigation of different aspects of a topic,” does not demand that students compile information from different sources to create an essay. The closest the standards come to demanding this sort of work is in the reading standards; CCSS RI.4.9 says: “Integrate information from two texts on the same topic in order to write or speak about the subject knowledgeably.” Fine. One could argue that this PARCC prompt assesses CCSS RI.4.9.

However, the fact that the texts presented for students to “use” for the essay are at a middle school reading level automatically disqualifies this essay prompt from being able to assess what it attempts to assess. (It is like trying to assess children’s math computational skills by embedding them in a word problem with words that the child cannot read.)

ELA 4TH GRADE PROMPT #3

[DELETED UNDER LEGAL THREAT BY PARCC]

Nowhere, and I mean nowhere in the Common Core State Standards is there a demand for students to read a narrative and then use the details from that text to write a new story based on a prompt. That is a new pseudo-genre called “Prose Constructed Response” by the PARCC creators, and it is 100% not aligned to the CCSS. Not to mention, why are 4th Graders being asked to write about trying out for the junior high track team? This demand defies their experiences and asks them to imagine a scenario that is well beyond their scope.

(Dianemarie Note: The paragraph brought to my mind something David Coleman said in the beginning of the push for the CCSS in his referencing of the practice of asking the students who have just come back to school after the summer break to write a story about how they spent their summer. Coleman told a room full of teachers those type of things would no longer be done because who gives a “shit” what a kid did during their summers? This showed you that Coleman knew nothing about the education of a child and we knew for sure our kids were in trouble.)

Clearly, these questions are poorly designed assessments of 4th graders CCSS learning. (We are setting aside the disagreements we have with those standards in the first place, and simply assessing the PARCC on its utility for measuring what it was intended to measure.)

Rather than debate the CCSS we instead want to expose the tragic reality of the countless public schools organizing their entire instruction around trying to raise students’ PARCC scores.

Without naming any names, I can tell you that schools are disregarding research-proven methods of literacy learning. The “wisdom” coming “down the pipeline” is that children need to be exposed to more complex texts because that is what PARCC demands of them. So children are being denied independent and guided reading time with texts of high interest and potential access and instead are handed texts that are much too hard (frustration level) all year long without ever being given the chance to grow as readers in their Zone of Proximal Development (pardon my reference to those pesky educational researchers like Vygotsky.)

So not only are students who are reading “on grade level” going to be frustrated by these so-called “complex texts,” but newcomers to the U.S. and English Language Learners and any student reading below the proficiency line will never learn the foundational skills they need, will never know the enjoyment of reading and writing from intrinsic motivation, and will, sadly, be denied the opportunity to become a critical reader and writer of media. Critical literacies are foundational for active participation in a democracy.

We can look carefully at one sample to examine the health of the entire system– such as testing a drop of water to assess the ocean. So too, we can use these three PARCC prompts to glimpse how the high stakes accountability system has deformed teaching and warped learning in many public schools across the United States.

In this sample, the system is pathetically failing a generation of children who deserve better, and when they are adults, they may not have the skills needed to engage as citizens and problem-solvers. So it is up to us, those of us who remember a better way and can imagine a way out, to make the case for stopping standardized tests like PARCC from corrupting the educational opportunities of so many of our children.

So very, very sad! Sorry

“The Chokehold on Our Children” Part 2

The ‘progressive’ movement has been a slow, evil virus which has floated over this country like a deadly cloud. It is a man, woman and child eating monster for anyone who is a patriot, Christian, conservative or just happens to not agree with them. It demands redistribution of wealth and loan shark style taxation – known and hidden. It wants your speech, guns and children to form another fascist/socialist/whatever you want to call it to control your very existence, just by a new name -New World Order and his brother in crime the One World Religion.

I call it Collectivism versus Individualism!

They have known for many, many years the road to accomplish this was through the education of your children using indoctrination.

Why the push on Charter Schools? Because they are an experiment which to date have proven they can create more scandals than all the traditional public schools in the country put together. They don’t tell you that do they?

Why is the Federal government pouring billions of $$ into Charter school funding and yet what they put in place to “fix” the traditional public schools is more Title I funds for low income which has never worked because at the same time they continue to tell them they will never get to college or make anything of themselves. They play games with the grade scoring, curriculum, go up and then down as a priority and continue to throw our money down the drain on junk ideas – hence no improvement.

The scandals – how do they happen? Go here – it is like reading a mystery novel! Pick your state or city and go for it!

Charter Choice 2How! By putting a financial chokehold on the Charter schools by getting in too deep because of the mega fees charged by the Management companies; creating inflammatory budgets and outlandish salary packages for principals; less than excellent teachers through Teach for America teachers rather than those educated to be teachers; far too lenient legislation leaving the elected boards with no actual control and when they do try to close a failing school, the state charter boards and management companies step in and beg to give a failing school another 2 years; charter school board members serving as board members of several schools within a management  company circle. One or two school board meetings a year; school principals without credentials – not to mention the real dirt!

Let’s take a look at New Orleans where after Katrina, their schools were so bad they decided the cure was to make the whole school district charter. The results have been devastating! Called the state-level Recovery School District it was originally presented as a temporary solution.

The purpose of government controlled school “they” told us was to prepare our children to be good citizens for the country and to be able to gain a college degree if they wished and go into the job market they wanted. They never wanted us to know that it was corporate whores who would be making all the decisions regarding our children’s education.

A clear danger sign of things to come for all parents should have been when the CEO of Exxon-Mobil wrote that threatening letter to the governor of PA to “get in line with the Common Core Standards” or else!

With many citizens displaced after Katrina and more than 7K citizens unemployed, most schools were taken away from local control, with no community input as the feds and venture philanthropists provided money for the development of charter schools with no comparable sum offered to rebuild the traditional public schools.

Now, New Orleans has a system of individual and charter management schools (CMO’s) where taxpayer and Parental Control has flown the coop.

Charter school vulturesWith limited public oversight and transparency, these CMOs have the control of the taxpayers money; teachers working 70+ hours a week; staffed primarily by young, non-local white teachers who have no idea how to equate to the black students in New Orleans. Teach for America (TFA) teachers have tripled with a large share of them in leadership positions with little or no experience. TFA teachers are working mostly in the “no excuses” charter schools including KIPP and Mastery Charter.

What are “no excuses” Charter schools? They claim that more rigorous and uniform teaching methods along with scripted curriculum geared to being successful on high-stakes tests is the path to success. It sounds great until you understand the path being used is a very deliberate behavior regime that they insist all the children follow which begins in kindergarten and consists of submission, obedience and self-control.

Not bad values until you understand this path also includes no opportunity for play, relaxation or extra-curricular activities because that is “wasted” time. And they are being tested, tested, tested!

It has also produced very high rates of suspension in these schools which in some cases is not being documented and is from the statistics, being aimed at the black students.

Don't Be Charter Fooled 2In 2 of the “no excuses” charter schools (KIPP and Mastery) data is no longer being used for “education quality”, but the very purpose of the school itself. With few exceptions, the curriculum is characterized by a narrow interpretation of state standards at the expense of all other material. Students rarely learn local history or current events. Instead, science and social studies were relegated to ancillary classes in the elementary school and reduced to the accumulation of vocabulary and lists of facts at the middle school.

What makes a No-Excuses School a No-Excuses School?

  • High behavioral and academic expectations for all students—these expectations are applied without exception for extenuating circumstance, hence the designation No-Excuses. No-Excuses. This means that no matter how troubling a student’s home-life may be, no matter what difficulties they may have to overcome in their neighborhood or family, a student is still expected to work hard and follow the school’s code of behavior. This attitude arises from an idealistic and, in fact, very radical assumption that lies at the heart of the No-Excuses movement: that every student, no matter what his or her background, is capable of high academic achievement and success in life.
  • A strict behavioral and disciplinary code that leaves little room for ambiguity or inconsistency—rules and punishments are laid out in Talmudic detail, usually in a document that is required—and tested—reading for all students and faculty at the beginning of the year. In many schools, tardiness, even by a couple of minutes, and uniform violation (a missing belt, bright nail-polish, etc.) lead to automatic detentions.

Silence seemed to be especially important in the hallways. At the sound of each bell at the middle school, students were expected to line up at “level zero” with their faces forward and hands behind their backs and, when given permission, step into the hallway and onto strips of black duct tape. There they waited for the command of an administrator: “John, you can move to your next class!

Students then marched until they reach the STOP sign on the floor. Then their pass is checked for hallway permission before moving on to the next class or “restroom” time. Behavior infractions are being administered through their iPhone for everyone to see.

“No excuses” is also being used to foster “social justice” of which they are told it is to help them get into college. Detroit’s story is as interesting and shows education has come to be an element of social justice robots.

Remind you of any the pictures you have seen of Hitler’s education?

Joan Goodman, a professor in the Graduate School of Education University of Pennsylvania (not one of my favorites but she is right here in this quote about the programs) “These schools start with the belief that there’s no reason for the large academic gaps that exist between poor minority students and more privileged children. They argue that if we just used better methods, demanded more, had higher expectations, enforced these higher expectations through very rigorous and uniform teaching methods and a very uniform and scripted curriculum geared to being successful on high-stakes tests, we can minimize or even eradicate these large gaps, high rates of drop outs and the academic failures of these children. To reach these objectives, these schools have developed very elaborate behavioral regimes that they insist all children follow, starting in kindergarten.”

Submission, obedience, and self-control are very large values being taught in the “no excuses” formatted Charter schools. They want kids to submit. You can’t really do this kind of instruction if you don’t have very submissive children who are capable of high levels of inhibition and do whatever they’re told.

“These schools are not geared to what students have to know – that is considered wasted time”. Play, relaxation or extra-curricular activities are not important. The view of time and strict discipline are related, by the way; in order to get these kids to attend over very long hours—they have extended days and extended weeks — you have to be tough with the kids, really severe. They want these kids to understand that when authority speaks you have to follow because that’s basic to learning.”

These schools also believe that behaviors that you might not think are directly related to academic learning can have a domino effect if left unaddressed. Getting up from your chair to go to the bathroom without explicit permission, for example, or not having your hands folded on your desk, or not looking at the teacher every minute, or not having your feet firmly planted on each side of the center of the desk are problematic behaviors. If you don’t conform to these rules then you are going to precipitate the next domino and the next domino. It’s going to have a cascading effect on your behavior and pretty soon you’re going to be very disruptive.

Discipline comes in the form of being isolated from the rest of the class – they have to wear different colored shirts, can’t talk even to ask questions, may sit on a lower bench than the other children. And it’s all about the deliberate shaming of the kids.

Mastery Charter Schools and Mastery Schools of Camden form a non-profit school network in Philadelphia, PA and Camden, NJ serving over 10,500 students in grades K-12.  “Our mission is to ensure that all students learn the academic and personal skills they need to succeed in higher education, compete in the global economy and pursue their dreams. This begins in kindergarten!”  KIPP schools format seems to fall in line with Mastery!

For years now, advocates of the “no excuses” brand of charter school have denied the obvious.  While loudly proclaiming the test scores and graduation rates of the students who remain at their schools are at the top, they have denied that their application processes combined with the harsh discipline environments that emphasize extreme conformity to extreme behavioral expectations are forms of “cream skimming” designed to drive out students less likely to burnish their reputations as “miracle factories.” (Low income students – hence all the offers from the feds to place charters in low income areas).

These schools claim to be targeting the low-income students to help bring them up to a higher standard yet it is these very ‘rules’ that are helping them bring the ‘cream to the top’ without seeming biased or racially defined.  These schools rates for children suspended, expelled or leaving all together far exceed the national averages.

You have heard of the “cream” rising to the top haven’t you? Helps their data figures!

Part of the means of obtaining the “cream” in their schools, they use extreme in-school discipline tactics that emphasize how only a certain type of child is welcome in the school, and discipline is often coupled with overt and covert pressure for parents to transfer struggling students out.  The evidence is by now substantial that charter schools in the “no excuses” category seek different applicants to their schools via complicated procedures prior to admissions lotteries, and once students enter they quickly seek to push out students who will not fully and promptly comply with their expectations.

Charter schools will tell you more than 90% of their students are passing tests and almost 100% get into college. Reformers want you to believe they are a success and they will never tell you there is any dishonesty going on with testing and data. Where is the data to prove these statements?

Education Monsters 2People like Jeb Bush, Huckabee and all the Charter school management companies will tell you they are serving the same students as traditional public schools – they just know how to do it better. They will tell you one of their goals is to beat the standings of Finland but even they have learned testing, especially teaching to a test for better scores, proves nothing. When in a discussion with these reformers and you tell them their students are actually not doing any better, they will revert to comparing different management schools rather than as a whole.

Mastery Learning was first introduced in the 1920’s suggesting this was the way to tap into an individual’s potential for learning. In the early 1960s the idea of mastery learning was revived in the form of programmed instruction. Other names used in reference to this are Competency Based Education, Performance Based Education and Student Centered Learning.

More and more of the current Charter school models are using this failed form of education and at the same time using different names for the same ole thing. Referring to our children as “human capital” and given as proof of the mentality of that is the corporate intrusion into our education systems all over the country.

The real main problem of this education is Mastery Learning supports the ideology that the individual students meet certain standards or learning outcomes, but since our children are NOT common and do learn different things at different paces – hence the ongoing failure of the use of this method of teaching. A more complete description of Mastery Learning can be found here which also includes Block’s reasoning behind Mastery Learning.

The powers to be have been experimenting with this education game since the late 80’s – the thoughts in their minds since the early 1900’s. Each time the experiment was put in place it was a failure and they knew the only way they could get this implemented all over the country was in the way they did it.

Keep in mind that the schools which claim to be teaching social and moral values may not necessarily be what you think are right for your children. In today’s educational system the mindset seems to be a more free thinking system – one that is addressing issues which conflict with conservative morals and values. Parents need to really look inside these schools and not assume that because they are a charter or private school that they are better than the traditional school their child is currently attending.

The words Charter and Private are just words – what is important is what is happening behind the closed doors.

I still have not been able to come to terms with the fact that OUR Commissioners/superintendents of our children’s education (who are supposed to have an education background) would deliberately do this to our children. It still comes down to money, power and control which also makes it extremely evil. Anyone involved in this scheme doesn’t deserve our respect and need to be sent home – charged with treason would be too good for them!

The Chokehold on Our Children! Part 1

In a nightmare world progressives are designing a civil society where little tots are to no longer be your little tots.  They are government-sought human resources to be raised as tomorrow’s anarchists.

The massive push to fund Pre-K and get a hold in our daycare centers by providing the funding is a single mothers dream. However, in reality it flows with the Communist way of thinking which is to have control of the children from birth through college. This mentality is endorsed by Sen. Lamar Alexander (R), Al Gore and Bill Ayers as a means to indoctrinate the children and build barriers between them and their parents.

How could anyone be against tax-subsidized Pre-K for all you ask? There are many ways. I will never understand why parents are so willing to let complete strangers have control of their children for 6-9 hours a day, 5-7 days a week.

If that chokehold on children is not Hitlerian, then what is?

“Those Obama initiatives are knockoffs of moldy-old Democratic policy chestnuts, such as former Vice President Al Gore’s push to fund preschool for all 3-year-olds at a cost to taxpayers of at least $50 billion over 10 years, left-wing actor/director Rob Reiner’s “I Am Your Child” campaign for universal preschool and child care, and Hillary Clinton’s various “It Takes a Village” schemes to expand Head Start from womb to work. With age comes fiefdom.” (Malkin).

Communist educationYou don’t believe Marxism is in the classroom? What do you think all the Bill Ayers taught teachers are spreading? The only group of “home grown” terrorist Americans who went to jail and came out to go to college to become teachers and were welcomed by the liberal colleges and universities to indoctrinate your children on your dimes.

In 2012 Diane Ravitz confused to her readers when a reader ask if Ms. Ravitz thought teachers were teaching  Marxism in the classroom and she responded addressing that “all teachers love children, to teach and their country”. Sorry Ms. Ravitz, most change agents of the 80’s were teachers and you didn’t answer the question.

Bertell Ollman, a college professor who states she has taught both undergraduate and graduate courses on Marxism for almost a decade—mainly at New York University, but also at Columbia University, Union College, and the old Free University of New York believes Marxism is not being taught correctly.

Has the Bogeyman entered the classrooms of our young children?  Marxism has been slowly infiltrating our lives since the early 20’s.  John Dewey is not a figment of anyone’s imagination.

Obama sees fit to once again put his feet and hands into the classrooms of our children encouraging parents to put their children in Pre-K even if they don’t work and he is made sure it was funded.

On Wednesday, December 17, 2014, the White House Summit on Early Education  unveiled nearly $1 billion in new “investments” to “expand access to high-quality early childhood education to every child in America” from “birth and continuing to age 5.” It’s a retread of President Obama’s 2013 State of the Union school-spending plan, which was a repackaging of his 2011 Race to the Top Early Learning Challenge program.

ChaChingDozens of corporations, foundations and individuals have agreed to dedicate a greater ongoing percentage of their philanthropy to expanding high quality early childhood programs and research as a strategy for achieving better education, health, social and economic outcomes, with commitments currently totaling more than $333 million.

Obama also announced over $750 million in federal funding for early learning programs through the Preschool Development Grants and Early Head Start-Child Care (EHS-CC) Partnerships, totaling more than $1 billion in critical investments in early childhood education announced today.

There are some pretty big Bogeymen out there to warp the minds of your children let alone the physical and mental abuse of the heavy push for our children to sit in a classroom all day long tied to a computer.

Cleverly they have incorporated the National Sexual Education Standards (NSES) throughout the curriculum of the English Language Arts and Math textbooks. Hurrah for Planned Parenthood (PP)!  This is to start in Kindergarten.

I have written about this push of sexual education for our children at such an early age before and it is just like the DARE drug program to stop drug use. Young children who are exposed to things they know nothing about are going to go about their own way to learn what it is all about – hence a large drug problem among young children. The same thing is happening with all the “sexual” information being thrown at our young children. Hence, the increase of sexual promiscuity and unwed mothers.

Come here my pretty!Just what kind of men and women do we have running the government of our country that they would allow these inexcusable antics to go on especially without informing parents? But then, after all, what do the legislators have to fear – we re-elect them no matter what they do to us and now they are in full force to kidnap our children. “Come here my little pretty”!

Have you ever read “The State of the American Child: Securing Our Children’s Future” presented by the 111th Congress?  You certainly should!

Obama’s White House contends that “studies show for every dollar we invest in early childhood education, we see a rate of return of $7 or more.”  PROVE IT!

They made this statement based on the results of a Preschool in Michigan, run at a cost of $19,000 per child more than a half-century ago, and a similar program in North Carolina called the Abecedarian Early Intervention Project.

The Abecedarian Early Intervention Project was focused on “poor” children stating they are behind and less prepared than those who come from a home of greater wealth. The massive cost of this program was $13,900 per child per year. Researchers advised caution about the positive reports pointing out there were many analytical discrepancies in published reports, including unexplained changes in sample sizes between different assessments and publications.

My question is – did the Federal government pay these schools to participate in this project? It wouldn’t be the first time.

Brookings Institute found in a study that full-time pre-K in 2 states; GA and OK “have had, at best, only small impacts on later academic achievements.” In fact, Georgia elementary-school students’ test scores are mediocre, and Oklahoma test scores have been on the decline for the past decade.

Keep in mind a large majority of our children are already in Pre-K by a government forced economic system of both parents having to work to make ends meet. What isn’t in place is most of the children are not available for the clutches of the Fed’s – yet.

The “problem” isn’t most families’ lack of access to preschool. It’s Washington’s lack of access to your kids for their institutionalized warehousing, data mining, and pedagogical propaganda schemes.

Always keep this in mind – presented to be included in the Congressional Record of January 10, 1963, by then Rep. A.S. Herlong, Jr., of Florida, the official record – Current Communist Goals from the Communist Manifesto in part:

  1. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind.
  2. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.
  3. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teacher’s associations. Put the party-line in all textbooks.
  4. Breakdown cultural standards of morality.
  5. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as normal, natural and healthy. (the NSES) do exactly that.
  6. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and divorce.

The Preschool Development Grants program will got $250 million for 2015. And it’s another competition pitting states against each other for approval.

Never forget the 1983 production of the Reagan Department of Education under the evil leadership of Terrell Bell producing “A Nation at Risk:  The Imperative for Education Reform” supported by Bill Bennett and Newt Gingrich. Bell created the National Commission on Excellence in Education and those appointed produced A Nation at Risk.

This document produced by Reagan’s “blue ribbon” education commission proposed to use schools as factories for more effectively turning Millennials and every generation that follows into usable raw material for corporate production.

Though filled with right-wing rhetoric in content, it reads like a Soviet proclamation on industrial production. Students are redefined as inputs in a system to maximize American corporate competitiveness, productivity and profits which is where we are today.

It does sound like todays Common Core State Standards and the communist way of life.

HitlerDr. Shirley McCune appearing at the Kansas Governor’s Summit on Education in 1989 with Sen. Alexander stated:  “…what we are into is a total restructuring of the society. What is happening in America today…is not simply a change 4 situation and the usual winds of change. What it amounts to is a total transformation of our society…The whole ball game in this particular change society is that there are only two things that really matter. One of those is the information capitol that we can put together…Secondly, to produce Human Capital…we have to prepare students not for today’s society, but for a society that’s 20, 30, 40, 50 years down the road…That’s called Social Change Function of Schools.”

And what kind of radically changed, restructured New Age society and education did Dr. McCune have in mind? In her co-authored The Light Shall Set You Free (1996), she talked about a “point of light,” and stated: “Only the souls who are ready to receive the new curriculum will elect to raise their vibrations to match those required to enter the New Age. Did you know that the animals’ souls are the souls of our future children? We are entering the Age of Aquarius…. The goal for all of humanity who will enter the new millennium is to become androgynous…. Educational systems, businesses, political structures and governments all built on self-serving principals, for example, are crumbling, only to be reborn through tremendous pain into higher forms.”

Even more frightening than what she said is the fact at the same time she was a research assistant in School-to-Work at Arizona State University, and then she became an administrative assistant to the Superintendent of Public Instruction for the State of Washington.

And you wonder how education got to where it is today!

That Dr. McCune is a New Age proponent who on November 2, 1989 had used the term “human resource development” more than once is perhaps significant in that earlier in that year, New Age networking Sen. Claiborne Pell had introduced Senate Joint Resolution 135, the “National Commission on Human Resource Development Act,” co-sponsored by Senators Al Gore and Nancy Kassebaum. The resolution was to establish the Center for Human Resource Development and spoke of the “normal aspiration of all citizens to more fully achieve their potential in body, mind and spirit…. [and] there is a role for government to assist in research and education on techniques that promote the… fuller realization of human potential.” Testifying for the measure was Dr. Herbert Benson of Harvard Medical School, who explained the “relaxation response” as experienced by those who practice Zen, Yoga and Transcendental Meditation. The resolution probably would have passed the Senate except that Senator Dan Coates (R) put a “hold” on it and it died. Similar bills – you will be amazed!

In case some of you weren’t old enough to realize it in 1989, Newsweek magazine referred to Bill Clinton as the “New Age President,” and the “Renaissance Weekend” he had attended for years was referred to by The New York Times as a “New Age Retreat.” He was also at this 1989 Summit.

Interestingly Sen. Lamar Alexander stated at the same 1989 Summit:  “The New American School would probably start with babies and go through the eighth grade. It would be all year long. It would be open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Every child would have his or her own computer and work-station. Every child would have a team of teachers that would stay with that child until graduation. These schools would ‘serve children from age three months old to age 18′ and they would serve as a ‘one-stop shopping’ center for welfare services ranging from family planning, health care, and other social services. Legislation should ‘assure that all women have access to affordable, high quality parental care and that all infants and children have access to affordable, high quality comprehensive health care'”.

The New American Schools Development Corporation’s radical design teams have been selected to “break the mold” away from basic-traditional education in order to train (not educate) children for the global workforce. Privatizing education through Charter Schools allows these radical design teams and other private entities such as The Edison Project (Jeb Bush’s buddy) to rob American citizens of their own tax-supported schools. This plan is being supported by both the right and the left-wing political groups who appear to have met in the radical mid-center on education, social control and a global economy.

Education has now been changed forever:

  • Purpose of Education was to transform society from individualism to collectivism
  • Fact based education is no longer the primary focus of education
  • Students are to be considered as HUMAN CAPITAL and education’s purpose is to train student’s to work

So to fall in line with the dreams of Sen. Alexander we now have ‘The SEED Foundation’ along with SEED charter schools are emerging. How are they different?

It is a college-prep, public boarding Charter school providing a 24-hour-a-day, five-day-a-week learning environment for underserved students from sixth through twelfth grade in Miami-Dade, FL. Founder’s Rajiv Vinnakota and Eric Elder are recipients of Oprah Winfrey’s Angel Network’s Use Your Life Award. That in its self should give any parent a warm and fuzzy feeling. Go here to see where all the money is coming from to support this foundation. (pages 18-21) That is certainly a lot of support.

Does anyone know the definition of an underserved student? Once again all other students are left out of the equation whether it is a good program or not. This educational society is continually putting barriers up and causing division between what they call underserved or lower income and the rest of the American students.

Aren’t you at least a little curious as to why there is so much attention to our babies? Don’t you feel like you have lost control over your own family?

In Nov., 2014, Obama signed into law a bipartisan bill to improve the quality of federally subsidized child care provided by the Child Care and Development Block Grant. The bill sets stronger health and safety standards for subsidized care, makes it easier for parents to find and keep quality child care, and takes steps to improve the quality of child care so that children get quality early childhood development services. Sounds wonderful until you realize your children are under the control of the Fed’s.

A national poll released by the First Five Years Fund earlier this year found 71 percent of voters, including 60 percent of Republicans, support greater federal investments and involvement in early childhood education.

The problem I have with the First Five Years Fund is they state they are “bipartisan, however they don’t state who they are, who sits on their board of directors or how they receive their funding. The web site mission:  Our mission is to create a smarter, stronger, healthier, and more productive America through early childhood education for disadvantaged children through bi-partisan federal advocacy.

What is the deal that every program, grant, voucher, charter school, or scholarship program is being geared to low-income or disadvantaged children?  Is it that they will fall in line quicker? Are more vulnerable? More easily indoctrinated? Aren’t the rest of the children in this country worth all of these tax dollars being spent on them through public education, especially when in the final assessment it is all indoctrinating our children?

If not, you need to show me the reason all these legislators, non-educators, corporate types and Soros, Gates, Bush and Walton level financiers are so interested in our children, especially those so very young.

If what I am saying is not the truth, then why aren’t all these investors investing in our public schools to fix what they say is wrong rather than creating baskets full of other ideas, organizations, legislation, failures and control? I don’t buy it is all Unions and I don’t support them either.

Are America’s parents going to continue to keep a blind eye, deaf ears and continue to allow the Federal government and private industry to invade our homes and take away our rights as parents to raise and take care of our children as we believe it should be done – rather than on the backs of the federal government and the misappropriation of our hard earned tax dollars?

Only you have the answer to this!
