BIG EDUCATION’S NOT-SO-SECRET EFFORT TO MARGINALIZE TEACHERS

Introduction

As we’ve pointed out, so-called “personalized learning” is the current fad in progressive education. But observing personalized learning in action reveals that the term is misleading. Perhaps we should call it “de-personalized” learning.

Most parents don’t realize that the “personalization” aspect of this digital training (not to be confused with education) comes not from extra attention paid by a good teacher, but from creepy mind-mapping and psychological analysis. The sophisticated software used in these interactive digital platforms can evaluate exactly how the child’s mind works (including socio-emotional characteristics) and so, theoretically, tailor the training to fit his needs.

The problem with this is, at least, twofold. First, the government has no business examining how children’s minds work, especially when the data collected from this intrusion may be stored in the children’s lifelong dossiers and used down the road for heaven knows what. Second, notice what, or rather who, is excised from this digital-training process: the teacher.

Although the ed-tech universe pays lip service to the value of the teacher’s involvement, in reality, gluing kids to screens for much of the school day pushes the teacher to the margins of the educational experience. Utah teacher Suzan Barnes has explained that a classroom built around digital instruction too often reduces the teacher to a dashboard monitor, clicking here and there to unlock the next level of each student’s lesson without the necessity of, or the time for, truly evaluating whether that student has learned anything. Students are thus deprived of the teacher’s guidance and wisdom that would come to bear in a traditional classroom with actual human interaction.

This marginalization of teachers suggests the long-term possibility (plan?) of vastly reducing the number of teachers needed in the classroom, saving millions in personnel costs. An added benefit would be, as Ms. Barnes explains, that the government could restrict the points of view to which students are introduced. Why risk exposure to the rogue teacher who doesn’t toe the government-approved line?

Regardless of the macro plan, the result of this “personalized” training is that it’s anything but. Students interact with impersonal software on an impersonal device, perhaps with an occasional computer-generated humanoid voice commenting on their performance. Meanwhile, the teacher is stuck at the desk, inputting the required mountains of data.

It gets worse. The de-personalization movement not only marginalizes teachers, it minimizes their skills in dealing with human students anyway. Educational Testing Service (ETS), which administers standardized tests including the College Board’s SAT and AP exams, is developing a new exam for assessing teacher candidates that observes them in a clinical environment disinfected of all actual students. This new assessment would replace students with avatars. Seriously.

ETS’s proposed “National Observational Teaching Exam” (NOTE) would create a virtual classroom filled with fake computerized students and make teacher candidates “teach” a lesson to the fake students. Feedback on the candidates’ performance would be provided by – of course – artificial intelligence. 

ETS is creating NOTE in partnership with TeachingWorks, a University of Michigan initiative “dedicated to improving teachers’ preparation and to creating a professional threshold for entry to teaching.” That sounds worthwhile until you read the annual report and discover that TeachingWorks is generously funded by (let’s all say it together) the Gates Foundation. Having royally mucked up public education regardingstandardsdigital training, etc., Bill Gates is now directing his well-funded ineptness toward teacher preparation. 

Gates’s sponsorship explains to some extent how education professionals could suggest such a goofy sci-fi way of training teachers. If it involves computers, apparently, Gates is all in. 

But relevant also is Gates’s advocacy of maximum standardization in education – remember his analogy of education as a standard electrical outlet – and such standardization is one goal of NOTE. As ETS explains, “In partnership with Mursion, which provides a mixed-reality teaching environment with simulated students, the avatars are produced by trained, calibrated human ‘interactors’ using standardized protocols. The use of virtual classrooms not only supports greater standardization of instructional contexts and settings for candidates, but also eliminates disruption to classroom activities, curriculum and student learning that occurs in schools.”

Standardized protocols produce standardized “students” to produce standardized teachers. It’s Bill’s ultimate fantasy.

As for using something like NOTE to determine a student teacher’s readiness for the classroom, only someone utterly unfamiliar with caring human interaction and its centrality to genuine education could be talked into that.

This is just the latest in a cascading series of efforts to denigrate the teachers.  It reflects a flawed understanding of human nature, of what makes a teacher great, and of what captures the imagination and enthusiasm of the child.  Recall your most effective teacher from high school. Now try to visualize him or her “teaching” a screen of avatars. Impossible, right? Odds are, sadly, that such people will no longer seek a career in the de-personalized world of personalized education.

Stealing Control of Our Children!

U.S. Government Once Again Invading Our Homes!

I wrote about this in 2012 shortly after they released the National Sexuality Education Standards (NSES) which is when we first got wind of it. Kathleen Sebelius at the time was Obama’s Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) and she was all for this “policy”.

It wasn’t long after the NSES standards were released we learned how sexuality was being intertwined throughout the Common Core curriculum. This link will show you how the Sexuality Standards are set up grade by grade (go to page 12).

Kathleen Sebelius was a very good Democrat but a lousy individual when it came to overseeing the welfare of the children of this country.

Recently the U.S. Department of Health in conjunction with the HHS have pushed what they believe to be their role as “Big Daddy” and have released a draft document which outlines for all the plan on how our government plans to treat the families. Families will be considered EQUAL partners with the Federal government, but on an UNEQUAL basis the government will have the right to intervene and monitor how your children are being raised at home and how they act in the classroom.

The policy statement of the recent draft states, “This policy statement is to provide recommendations from the U.S. Departments of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Education (ED) on systematically engaging families in their children’s development, learning, and wellness, across early childhood and elementary education settings.

Now parents will have a set of “standards” or “Parenting Intervention” on how they are supposed to raise their children all for the sole purpose to “ensure your child’s social-emotional and behavioral needs are met.”

Does the Federal government really think so much of themselves and so little of our parents that they believe they don’t know how to raise their children? There have always been parents who might not care as the others do or who didn’t do as good as job as some, but for the most part the majority of the parents in this country have and are doing a pretty darn good job considering the numerous roadblocks which are continually placed in their way. The Federal government needs to get out of our day to day lives.

Make no mistake, this “family” intrusion starts even before your child is born. Home visits will be the rule of the day and they do not have to give you a reason for their intrusion either.

Regarding “family engagement,” the two unconstitutional bureaucracies (USDOE and HHS) openly state their joint position: families are “equal partners” in everything from children’s “development” and “education” to their “wellness across all settings.” Virtually no area of family life, including the health and “mental health” of parents, as well as a family’s “attitudes” and even its “housing,” would be free from government intrusion under the government’s Orwellian vision. Even vague notions of “family wellness,” as defined by bureaucrats in Washington, D.C., would be put under a government microscope. “Parenting interventions” will be used to ensure compliance.

If you thought we were kidding when we told you the passage of the ESSA “Every Student Succeeds Act” was not the groundwork leading to the total control of your children from cradle to grave, maybe this will make parents believers.

“It is the position of the Departments of HHS and Education that all early childhood programs and schools recognize families as equal partners in improving children’s development, learning and wellness across all settings, and over the course of their children’s developmental and educational experiences,” reads the draft policy. And it gets even more bizarre: As defined in the document, family means “all the people who play a role in a child’s life and interact with a child’s early childhood program or school.”

I have to ask the question if just because the Federal Government puts something in place (it is not even passed legislation) is it Constitutional and what will the ramifications be if we don’t open our doors to them?

The document argues that Big Brother needs to know about essentially everything, for the supposed benefit of the child it wants to “partner” in caring for. Citing “research,” the policy statement claims that “the institutions where children learn cannot ignore family wellness if they want to fulfill their mission to prepare children for school and academic success.” In other words, every aspect of family life is now fair game under the pretext of checking “family wellness.”

While government usurpation of parental rights and responsibilities is hardly a new phenomenon, the Obama administration has pushed the agenda hard. Citing Obama’s so-called “My Brother’s Keeper” scheme, the document also touts ensuring that “children are learning across settings and that all adults who teach and care for them are strong partners with shared expectations and aligned strategies.” Thinking that Big Brother is going to align its “strategies” and “expectations” to those of parents — rather than the other way around — is naïve at best.

This part is precious:  “The “principles” underlying the agenda are spelled out explicitly, including “equal partnerships between families and professionals.” In fact, the paper calls for promoting “shared responsibility” between government “professionals” and families “for children’s healthy development, learning and wellness.” The paper also calls for “jointly” developing and monitoring goals for the children at home and the classroom, with government employees told to “engage parents as capable, competent partners.”

After all the failures and corruption we have seen our government involved in are we supposed to trust “untrained government hacks” to decide if our children are being raised properly or if they are healthy?

The world of “psychiatry” is to play a large role in this also by “ensuring with constant monitoring and communication regarding our children’s social, emotional and behavioral health. Who is going to PAY for all of this?

There are lots of “recommendations” — nudge, wink — for local governments, too. If parent “partners” are not partnering in a way approved of by Big Brother for example, local officials should “identify supports that will be offered to parents such as evidence-based parenting interventions.” By interventions, they mean exactly what you think they mean. Local arms of Big Brother should also seek out “community partners” that can “provide comprehensive services, such as health, mental health, or housing assistance to meet families’ basic needs,” the document explains.

Leading into the ESSA “Community Schools”?

I don’t know who I am angrier at – parents or these morons who have been allowed to continually screw us! Just remember as with Obama’s Executive Orders, there is nowhere in this document that states if you are a Democrat, Liberal or voted for Obama you are exempt from this tyranny.

The document calls for various government programs to visit your house. “To support ongoing relationship building with families, programs and schools and should conduct periodic home visits so that teachers and families can get to know each other and communicate about children’s goals, strengths, challenges, and progress,” the policy statement says, adding that if home visits are not possible for “all families,” other requirements should be imposed.

Schools are to now assess your “families’ needs and wants” and even to provide training for parents on how to raise their children. Indeed, every aspect of parents’ lives is in the crosshairs. “LEAs, schools and programs can support family wellbeing through school social workers, by implementing community schools models or approaches, or using family support staff and mental health consultants.”

These are the very same people that believe it is perfectly alright to take your daughter to have an abortion without telling her parents she is even pregnant.

Coalition for Community Schools.Your Obama approved COMMUNITY SCHOOLS being referred to as “parental-replacement centers” are in full swing and they intend for this to move into a massive expansion. These full service schools are set to play a key role in the broader agenda of control to include every aspect of a child’s life to include even their dentistry, nutrition and mental health.

Hum! Same initials as for the Common Core Standards!

In case you aren’t aware the ESSA also includes provisions for deploying “mental health” programs against parents and/or community members. Former Edu. Secretary Arne Duncan liked to brag that he was going to turn our children into “green” and “global” citizens with the weapon being UNESCO under the over-reaching arms of the United Nations. This even calls for government to use education as a “weapon” even calling for the government to have “some kids” 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

In case you aren’t aware Florida’s first Charter/Boarding school opened in Miami/Dade in 2014 called “the Seed School of Miami”. Most of their Board of Directors are lawyers but the one I like best is Virginia Emmons, co-founder of Educate Tomorrow who graduated with a degree in “Community and Social Change” from the Univ. of Miami in 2012.

It is supposedly a college-preparatory, public boarding school which is of course tuition-free “except for our tax $$” public charter school. The SEED Foundation opened their first school 15 years ago in Washington, D.C.

Maybe it is the parents who are willing to send their children off to “boarding” schools who this policy should apply to – not to parents who are deeply involved in their children’s lives and education as a whole.

And though the Democrats are no angels, this whole ESSA was passed by and put together by REPUBLICANS with Sen. Lamar Alexander (globalist) in the lead knowing full well what they were doing – laying out their path to a global world and the New World Order.

Hey debate moderators, how about asking Jeb Bush about this. His “beloved” daddy is the first one to bring up a “New World Order” beginning with the push for Charter schools and Vouchers. Then “baby boy” Jeb carried the staff while governor to really push. Jeb Bush can say whatever he likes but research shows what a corrupt and evil family this is!

This whole document which has not been passed as law but is being treated as “POLICY”, and is very clear in stating federal bureaucrats are starting from the false assumption that Big Brother is in charge of raising children, and that parents may be called upon to help out as “partners.” It also purports to provide justification for governments to pry into every aspect of family life — an extraordinarily dangerous proposition that is a hallmark of totalitarian governments. The mindset evidenced throughout the document is beyond paternalistic and condescending to parents.

What is not clear at this point is if this “POLICY” is not followed by the local school districts what will happen to them. Take their funding away? We keep trying to tell the state governments to STOP sending the Feds any of our money and tell them to take their grants and yearly dole out and put them where the sun doesn’t shine. States would have more money than they would know what to do with.

The document remains online at the federal government’s website. It appears to have been put out during or after the fall of 2015.

I do wonder if this collaboration is also going to be checking on the families of legislators and even Obama since it seems his daughter is not immune from getting herself into fixes by being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Are these animals that are pushing this agenda against America’s families exempt?

Admittedly, a major part of the problem is that many parents have bought into the notion that they can, or even should, hand over their children to government “professionals” and “experts” to be raised, monitored, tracked, manipulated, and “developed.” But Big Brother has certainly played a giant role in encouraging that dangerous idea, most recently illustrated in the policy statement referring to families as “equal partners” in child rearing.

Maybe this will help parents understand this is no joke!

CIA Supporting the Islamic Indoctrination of Our Children

Our Children Do Become What They Are Taught! This is why it is so important to pay attention to what is being FED to our children and who is behind it.

OBUMMER3A declassified US intelligence report from the Pentagon that was released earlier this year, reveals that Western support for Syria’s rebels aided and abetted the rise of the ‘Islamic State’. The report included high-level confirmation that the US-led strategy in Syria contributed directly to the rise of the Islamic State (IS).

The document shows that in coordination with the Gulf states and Turkey, the West intentionally sponsored violent Islamist groups to destabilize Assad, and that these “supporting powers” desired the emergence of a “Salafist Principality” in Syria to “isolate the Syrian regime.”

We have not been given a choice in this war – Assad or ISIS!

Despite anticipating that Western, Gulf state and Turkish support for the “Syrian opposition” — which included al-Qaeda in Iraq — could lead to the emergence of an ‘Islamic State’ in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), the document provides no indication of any decision to reverse the policy of support to the Syrian rebels.

Among the batch of documents obtained by Judicial Watch through a federal lawsuit, released earlier this week, a US Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) document then classified as “secret,” is dated 12th August 2012.

Some outlets have reported the US intelligence community’s internal prediction of the rise of ISIS. Yet none have accurately acknowledged the disturbing details exposing how the West knowingly fostered a sectarian, al-Qaeda-driven rebellion in Syria.

Noting that “the Salafist”, the Muslim Brotherhood, and AQI al-Qaeda in Iraq are the major forces driving the insurgency in Syria,” the document states that “the West, Gulf countries, and Turkey support the opposition,” while Russia, China and Iran “support the Assad regime.”

In a section titled ‘The Future Assumptions of the Crisis,’ the DIA report predicts that while Assad’s regime will survive, retaining control over Syrian territory, the crisis will continue to escalate “into proxy war.”

The document also recommends the creation of “safe havens under international sheltering, similar to what transpired in Libya when Benghazi was chosen as the command center for the temporary government.”

According to Brad Hoff, a former US Marine who served during the early years of the Iraq War and as a 9/11 first responder at the Marine Corps Headquarters Battalion in Quantico from 2000 to 2004, the just released Pentagon report for the first time provides stunning affirmation that: “US intelligence predicted the rise of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL or ISIS), but instead of clearly delineating the group as an enemy, the report envisions the terror group as a US strategic asset.”

In the past several weeks 2,000 fighters, 250 vehicles and hundreds of tons of ammo has been sent from Turkey to Islamic terrorists in Syria giving Britain cause to enter the war. US  Rep. Tulsi Gabbard’s warning to the American people about the Obama regimes actions said: “Russia’s installation of their anti-aircraft missile-defense system increases that possibility of — whether it’s intentional or even an accidental event — where one side may shoot down the other side’s plane, and that’s really where the potential is for this devastating nuclear war.”

As if this information is not enough, another recently released document shows how the CIA is attempting to control the flip of the Turkish government and the Middle East oil while supporting Fethullah Gulen and his Charter schools here in America.

What is wrong with our parents that they put their children into schools they know nothing about the leaders except it is a “Charter” school. With charters failing at an amazing rate, you would think they would think twice about putting their children in these schools. But, no…..

So what does Putin ordering his Ilyushin-80 giant command and control aircraft designated for use during nuclear war as the “Doomsday plane” to prepare for worldwide war operations have to do with Turkish Gulen Charter schools?

Military intelligence analysts discovered a “beyond staggering” plot by United States and Turkish government factions to bring down Turkey’s President Recep Erdogan and replace him with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) “designated figurehead” Fethullah Gulen—while at the same time utilizing Islamic State terrorists as “leverage”.

This plot to overthrow the current government of Turkey by the CIA was first started in 2008 by the US military-intelligence establishment supported think tank American Enterprise Institute (AEI) whose board members are a “who’s who” of American military connected individuals, including former US Vice President Richard Cheney, and whose research papers advocated the United States creating what they call a “moderate Muslim” majority in the Middle East to battle Islamic extremists and whose target nation for this action was Turkey.

Aiding the CIA in this goal is of course none other than the leader of the Gulen Charter schools who has been hiding in the Pocono Mountains since 1999 – Fethullah Gulen. The CIA will tell you he came here for “health reasons” but in truth he ran from his government and went into exile when he was accused of attempting to undermine Turkey’s secular regime in order to institute an Islamic state. He obtained his long time visa with the help of former CIA officials.

2015 – Gulen also recently ran afoul again of Turkey’s president, Recip Erdogan. Erdogan accused Gulenists of operating a “parallel state,” and he reportedly lobbied President Obama last month to extradite Gulen back to Turkey. With the current CIA information, we know that is NOT going to happen.

These schools first started appearing the same year Gulen first appeared in 1999 with 17 of the original 165 schools no longer open. Currently, there are 148 Gulen Charter schools operating in the U.S. in 27 different states.  Texas (48) and Ohio (17) have the most schools with California and Florida following with 12 and 11 schools respectfully.

Under the leadership of Sheik Mohammad Fethullah Gülen the goal has always been to re-instate the Ottoman Empire by indoctrinating and recruiting American children, especially high school age, to follow their agenda.

In 2013 there was a split between Turkey’s Sunni Muslim Brotherhood Islamist leader, Premier Erdogan and Fethullah Gülen, after Erdogan banned non-state run preparatory schools. Both have the same goal of restoring the Ottoman Empire.

The FBI who has done several investigations of these schools across the country, has resisted in granting permanent residency to Gulen and according to secret leaked cables, parts of the American government have long believed that Gülen “is a ‘radical Islamist’ whose moderate message cloaks a more sinister and radical agenda.”

After years of investigating him the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security, due to his guardian angels in the State Department and the CIA, are prevented from bringing an indictment against him, so they try to kick him out of the US. But once again Gulen’s CIA angels step in and portray Gulen as a scholar, despite the fact that Gulen doesn’t even have a high-school diploma and never went beyond the 5th grade.

Ohio state audits of these schools found thousands of public dollars “illegally expended” to finance the U.S. citizenship process for Turkish employees — some fresh out of college with no classroom experience and broken English. Employees are forced to give back a portion of each paycheck to fund the Foundation. – TY CIA!

AND YET GULEN IS ALLOWED TO OBTAIN MILLIONS IN TAXPAYER $$ WITH THE PRIMARY GOAL OF INDOCTRINATING OUR CHILDREN INTO ISLAM!

This report shows that shortly after the CIA got Gulen into the U.S., President Erdogan established in Turkey the Justice and Development Party in 2001 using a moderate Muslim platform to create change throughout the entire Middle East using part of Gulen’s massive wealth estimated to be between $22-50 billion.

Gulen also owns and operates over three hundred Madrasas around the world, including Pakistan, Central Asia, and the Caucasus. While Gulen’s suspicious and secretive Madrasas have been shut down and or restrained in countries such as Russia, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan, based on these governments’ justified suspicions that his schools had more than just education on their agendas, his rapidly and secretively expanding charter school empire here in the US has gone quite unnoticed and unacknowledged by legislators – however the CIA is well aware of what is happening.

The Gulen schools are one of the largest users of the H-1B visa program bringing in teachers from Turkey claiming America does not have intelligent enough teachers in math and science to teach our students.

Collectively this is called the Gulen “Movement” and a large share of the schools are over seen by their own “for-profit” management company Charter Educational Services & Resources formerly Grace Institute for Educational Research and Resources .

The CIA coming up with this less than brilliant idea, believed they could use Gulen and abuse the religion in America as a cover to advance their design of global control. This dual arrangement was then brokered by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton between Erdogan and Gulen factions in Turkey to split the illegal oil wealth captured by Islamic State terrorists in Iraq and Syria—and which Hillary Clinton has been paid by Gulen, to both her families foundation and presidential campaign, an estimated $1 million.

To help support its diverse interests, Gulen movement supporters in the U.S. have in recent years begun to donate heavily to numerous political campaigns. Gulenists have also paid for hundreds of Turkish “cultural” trips for members of Congress from both sides of the political aisle.

In 2013, Prime Minister Erdogan discovered the CIA-Gulen plot against himself and Turkey which he publically labeled as an “international conspiracy” vowing revenge on Gulen and threatening Francis Ricciardone, the US ambassador to Turkey, with expulsion.

Fearing their “moderate Muslim” project would be destroyed, the CIA then transferred out of Turkey “selected” military and intelligence officers, before Erdogan could arrest them, to Iraq—and where on 8 April 2013 they declared themselves to be the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL/ISIS/Daesh/Islamic State).

So where does this leave our children with essentially stupid people (CIA) who believed they could use GULEN and they could abuse religion as a cover to advance their design for global control. Gulen has his own agenda and they are not the same.

December 1, 2015 Obama announced they were sending more American troops to Iraq to protect their Islamic State allies – BUT – Iraq’s Prime Minister, Haider al-Abadi, said they were not welcome and their powerful Shiite militia leaders vowed to kill the moment they set foot on Iraqi soil.

So what can we see as our Muslim president’s goal? We have evidence that over 14K Islamic refugees have vanished from Sweden, but in fact have been transported to the U.S. More than 100 radical Islamic charter schools owned and operated by “King of Madrasas” Gulen in the United States set up by the brainchild of the CIA, a maze of dubious NGO’s—including George Soros’ Center for American Progress NGO which joined with Gulen, and which after this “beyond staggering” plot was discovered this past week caused Putin to label George Soros as threat to national security.

For a clearer picture America, these 14K refugees are to be placed in regions occupied by the Gulen Charter schools. Did our various state governors know of this plot? Why would our legislator’s support this use of our children to Muslim indoctrination?

An Interview with Larry Garthwohl

If your church’s new pastor had a long and well-known history of atheism, contradicting church doctrine, or fire-bombing churches, would you trust him to serve the church community in good faith, and to do everything in his power to uphold the church’s principles and practices?  More to the point, would you continue to attend that church, and to take your children there?

If people dedicated to the complete destruction of the United States as a constitutional republic became power-players in the public school establishment, would you expect them to build an education system that fostered and preserved the tenets of republican citizenship as understood by America’s founders?  Would you continue to support the public schools, and send your children there?

For a hundred years, the main intellectual force behind America’s educational establishment has been John Dewey, a socialist and open critic of the Enlightenment, American individualism, and American constitutional government.  What kind of education system should people have expected Dewey and his admirers to promote?  Should anyone be surprised that the public school establishment built largely according to his theories has become an anti-American cesspool of collectivism, irrationalism, and immorality?

Today, the educational insanity has reached new heights.  The public school establishment has devolved from following the wisdom of men who hoped to remodel America in a Marxist image to following men who have actively sought to instigate violent revolution.  The church leadership, as it were, has devolved from atheists to fire-bombers.

Bill Ayers, a leader of the Weather Underground terrorist organization, became a “respected” professor of education — a teacher of teachers — and a leading theorist on early childhood education.  If you are one of those who wish to remain blissfully in the fog about this fact or its implications, you had better stop reading now.

Larry GrathwohlLarry Grathwohl was the military veteran who volunteered to infiltrate the Weather Underground as an FBI operative in 1969.  He is probably best-known for his firsthand account of a Weatherman meeting at which the organization’s leadership, including the future Professor Ayers, discussed the logistics of how, after the communist revolution they were trying to spearhead, they would murder the ten percent of the American population that would likely remain resistant to the communists’ re-education program.

Grathwohl was often been interviewed about that meeting and about his days among the Weather Underground (WU).  The focus of those interviews used to be on the radicals and their terrorist operations.  More recently, interviewers have turned to Grathwohl to help them highlight Barack Obama’s own radicalism, by reminding people of the true nature of the “guy in Obama’s neighborhood.”

Rather than retrace these (important) angles, I chose to tie Grathwohl’s knowledge of Ayers and the rest of the WU leadership to the issue of public education.  Alarming as it is that the president of the United States has, and has carefully concealed, a personal association with a lifelong revolutionary communist, I believe that even that pales in comparison with the mainstream influence and respectability that Ayers, and some of his old cohorts, have come to enjoy in the field of childhood education.  A president with Marxist inclinations and attitudes is a great threat.  Entire generations of children receiving their first years of moral and intellectual education at de facto Marxist re-education camps — that is a societal catastrophe.

Recently, I have been urging anyone who will listen to stop making excuses for allowing the government to continue controlling the education of their children, and to get any child under their influence out of the public education system now.  Stop rationalizing inaction: modern public education, as the few intelligent, noble, suffering teachers in the system can tell you, is a Dewey-rigged atrocity, a forced-retardation machine.  In America, that machine is now, increasingly, being reprogrammed as a direct socialist indoctrination system.  One of the leading programmers is Bill Ayers.

From my own interview experiences, I know that one often feels dissatisfied with one’s answers after the fact and wishes one could go back and refine one’s statements.  With this in mind, I conducted my interview with Larry Grathwohl in writing.  I sent him my questions, in the order presented here, and he answered at his leisure.  I trust that you will find his responses as bracing and thought-provoking as I do.

Daren Jonescu: From your time among the WU, what was your understanding of the relationship between the group’s members and the Cuban DGI?  Were they just basically admirers of Castro, or did the WU have some kind of genuine operational relationship with the DGI, KGB, or any such organization?

Larry Grathwohl: In my knowledge of the connections the WU maintained with the Cuban DGI and with other communist-bloc countries, it was extensive.  The WU created an organization called the Venceremos Brigade with the sole purpose of sending members of their underground cells to Cuba for training in the administrative functions of organizing a revolution, as well as being trained in the creation and the use of explosives.  The Venceremos Brigade itself was composed of young students who were sent to Cuba under the guise of being there to help harvest sugarcane, but included were members of the WU whose reason for being there was to receive this specialized training from the DGI.

Additionally, these trips to Cuba were utilized in order to maintain contacts with the North Vietnamese and other communist-bloc countries.  As an example, Kathy Boudin traveled extensively through the Eastern Bloc countries of that time frame and also attended the University of Moscow.

At one time it was intended for me to travel to Cuba for this indoctrination and training; however, I was able to convince the WU leadership that I didn’t require this kind of training, being that I had been in the U.S. military.  Therefore, my name was taken off the list, and someone else was sent in my place.  I did have the opportunity to meet and discuss their experiences in Cuba with some of the individuals who were part of the first Venceremos Brigade.

This connection between the Cubans and the WU was so extensive that in the event that an individual lost contact, they could go to a Cuban Embassy in Canada and simply tell them that they were (the first name didn’t matter) Delgado, which was a codename to be used to re-establish contact with the WU.  I also know of at least one incident where Bill Ayers and Naomi Jaffe traveled to Canada to make contact with the Cubans in the Québec Liberation Front in order to obtain funds in the amount of at least seven to ten thousand dollars.  They returned to Buffalo, New York, after having been gone for a day and a half, with this money.

I have no direct knowledge of how involved the KGB was in directing the DGI and therefore the effect it may have had on the WU.  However, it is my understanding from intelligence sources I have since come in contact with that the DGI was essentially run by the KGB.  Again, I have no direct knowledge of this, but it seems apparent from other information that I have seen and developed through the years that this was the relationship that existed between the Soviet Union and the Cubans.

DJ: Why exactly did the WU want to overthrow the U.S. government?  In favor of what?

LG: Specifically, the WU intended, as their ultimate goal, the total destruction of U.S. imperialism and of course our government.  They intended to replace our current government with what they referred to as “democratic centralism.”  They claimed that this was the current form of government of the Cuban islands, and this was what they intended to establish here in the United States.  Additionally, they felt that certain portions of the United States would be occupied by third-world countries after our destruction.  They estimated that 100 million citizens of the United States would have to be re-educated after the revolution had succeeded.

DJ: How would you answer people who say, “Oh, back then all the young people talked that way.  Kids do all kinds of crazy things that they regret later.”

LG: Yes, it is true that many people during that time spoke in extremely radical terms, especially regarding their government and what needed to take place in order to change what they saw as the evils of U.S. imperialism.  Most of these groups, however, believed in a nonviolent means of achieving these goals, and it was only the WU who felt that the only possible way of achieving this change was through violent revolution.  There are many who were part of this movement during this period of time who feel that the WU had undermined their activities and ultimately destroyed any possibility of their success.  This is one of the great criticisms that exists of the WU and their tactics during that period.

Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dorn, among others, claim today that they were merely an antiwar group, but this is not the truth.  In all of their writings and all of their political manifestoes, they made it very clear that they were a violent revolutionary organization inside the belly of the beast, as they called it, and that their purpose was the destruction of the U.S. and what they called U.S. imperialism.

DJ: For many people, the hardest part about accepting the true motives of subversives like the WU is that when we see them on TV, or read their later writings, they often just seem relatively “normal.”  It’s hard for people who think of “bad guys” in movie terms to accept that evil people really are “normal” for much of the day — they are human beings, after all, and therefore they do many of the same things we all do.

Please give me some insight into this issue: did the WU, even during those violent early days, sometimes seem like relatively normal people?  Could someone meeting them in a non-WU context see Bill Ayers or Mark Rudd as ordinary, or even likable?

Ayers 2LG: While there were some members of the WU that I took a personal liking to, I cannot say that of the individuals that I knew as members of the leadership collective.  This would have included people like Bill Ayers, Mark Rudd, Bernadine Dorn, Jeff Jones, and others. These people were absolutely vicious in their dedication to overthrow the government by any means necessary, including the use of bombs and shrapnel in order to create the greatest injury and death to people they deemed enemies.  There were some whom I knew as part of the operational personnel who were more to my liking, and the difficulty surrounding these individuals was knowing that I was betraying them and their friendship as I continued to pass information to the FBI.  So the answer to this question is yes, there were some who were relatively normal and therefore likable, but this did not include the leadership, which was extremely focused and intent upon destroying every remnant of democracy, including innocent bystanders who might unfortunately be in the way.

DJ: The quote for which you are probably best-known is your account of the WU leadership’s discussions of post-revolutionary “re-education camps in the southwest,” and of the likelihood that ten percent of the U.S. population, the “diehard capitalists,” would have to be killed.  I would like to focus on the “re-education camps.”  To the best of your knowledge, how did the WU conceive of these camps?

LG: [T]his conversation took place in Cleveland, Ohio, at a meeting for the organization to begin its underground activities, which included what they referred to as strategic sabotage.  Of course this meant bombing symbols of our government as well as individuals whose positions were meant to protect and defend.  The conversation involving the re-education camps and the elimination of approximately 25 million people began as a result of my inquiring as to what we (the WU) would do when and if our revolution succeeded and we were forced to deal with the everyday operations and logistics of running a country.  There was very little interest in what would need to be done in order to feed, house, clothe, and otherwise provide for the population.  The main focus was what had to be done in order to protect themselves from what they construed as the counterrevolution, which they expected to occur shortly after they had seized power.  Because of this it would be necessary to establish re-education centers in the Southwest with the purpose of indoctrinating people into the new order and beliefs of their revolution.  They estimated that 25% [of the camps’ 100 million occupants], or 25 million people, would not be able to assimilate or accommodate this re-education and therefore would have to be eliminated.  [T]hese individuals could be worked to death, starved to death, or shot, depending upon what works best for the revolution.

While I cannot remember everyone who attended this meeting, I do remember that Mark Rudd, Cathy Wilkerson, Bill Ayers, Linda Evans, and other members of the leadership were present.  The most remarkable thing that affected me at that time was the amount of education that these people had in comparison to myself and to the general population.  Many had graduated with postgraduate degrees from some of the most prestigious universities in the country, and here they sat in a room on a cloudy afternoon, seriously discussing not only the need, but the means to eliminate 25 million people, with absolutely no pangs of conscience or hesitation.

Author’s Note: I conclude Part 1 by emphasizing one aspect of Grathwohl’s last point here.  In noting their level of education, Grathwohl is reminding us of the WU leadership’s ages.  Ayers and Gilbert turned 25 the year Weatherman was formed; Dorn was 27, Boudin and Jaffe 26.  In 1980, when Ayers and Dorn finally surrendered to police — without apologies for their “underground” activities — they turned 36 and 38.  The following year, Boudin and Gilbert, aged 38 and 37, participated in a murderous Brinks armored car robbery with members of the Black Liberation Army.  The haze of distance is a convenience for those inclined to dismiss any relation between the WU’s “youthful” radicalism and their “mature” work in education and social justice — a convenient lie, that is.

In the nightmare world progressives are designing a civil society where little tots are to no longer be your little tots. They are government-sought human resources to be raised as tomorrow’s anarchists.

The massive push to fund Pre-K and get a hold in our daycare centers by providing the funding is a single mothers dream. However, in reality it flows with the Communist way of thinking which is to have control of the children from birth through college. This mentality is endorsed by Sen. Lamar Alexander (R), Al Gore and Bill Ayers as a means to indoctrinate the children and build barriers between them and their parents.

Hitlers children 2How could anyone be against tax-subsidized Pre-K for all you ask? There are many ways. I will never understand why parents are so willing to let complete strangers have control of their children for 6-9 hours a day, 5-7 days a week.

If that chokehold on children is not Hitlerian, then what is?

“Those Obama initiatives are knockoffs of moldy-old Democratic policy chestnuts, such as former Vice President Al Gore’s push to fund preschool for all 3-year-olds at a cost to taxpayers of at least $50 billion over 10 years, left-wing actor/director Rob Reiner’s “I Am Your Child” campaign for universal preschool and child care, and Hillary Clinton’s various “It Takes a Village” schemes to expand Head Start from womb to work. With age comes fiefdom.” (Malkin).

You don’t believe Marxism is in the classroom? What do you think all the Bill Ayers taught teachers are spreading? The only group of terrorist acting Americans who went to jail and came out to go to college to become teachers and were welcomed by the liberal colleges and universities to indoctrinate your children on your dimes.

In 2012 Diane Ravitz confused her readers when a reader ask if Ms. Ravitz thought teachers were teaching Marxism in the classroom and she responded addressing that all teachers love children, to teach and their country. Sorry Ms. Ravitz, most change agents of the 80’s were teachers and you didn’t answer the question.

Bertell Ollman, a college professor who states she has taught both undergraduate and graduate courses on Marxism for almost a decade—mainly at New York University, but also at Columbia University, Union College, and the old Free University of New York believes Marxism is not being taught correctly.

Has the Bogeyman entered the bedrooms and classrooms of our young children? Marxism has been slowly infiltrating our lives since the early 20’s. John Dewey is not a figment of anyone’s imagination.

Obama sees fit to once again put his feet and hands into the classrooms of our children and also encouraging parents to put their children in Pre-K even if they don’t work and he is making sure it is funded.

On Wednesday, December 17, 2014, the White House Summit on Early Education unveiled nearly $1 billion in new “investments” to “expand access to high-quality early childhood education to every child in America” from “birth and continuing to age 5.” It’s a retread of President Obama’s 2013 State of the Union school-spending plan, which was a repackaging of his 2011 Race to the Top Early Learning Challenge program.

Dozens of corporations, foundations and individuals have agreed to dedicate a greater ongoing percentage of their philanthropy to expanding high quality early childhood programs and research as a strategy for achieving better education, health, social and economic outcomes, with commitments currently totaling more than $333 million.

Obama also announced over $750 million in federal funding for early learning programs through the Preschool Development Grants and Early Head Start-Child Care (EHS-CC) Partnerships, totaling more than $1 billion in critical investments in early childhood education announced today.

BoogymanThere are some pretty big Bogeymen out there to warp the minds of your children let alone the physical and mental abuse of the heavy push for our children to sit in a classroom all day long tied to a computer.

Cleverly (they think), they have incorporated the National Sexual Education Standards (NSES) throughout the curriculum of the English Language Arts and Math textbooks. Hurrah for Planned Parenthood (PP)! This is to start in Kindergarten.

I have written about this push of sexual education for our children at such an early age before and it is just like the DARE drug program to stop drug use. Young children who are exposed to things they know nothing about are going to go about their own way to learn what it is all about – hence a large drug problem among young children. The same thing is happening with all the “sexual” information being thrown at our young children. Hence, the increase of sexual promiscuity and unwed mothers.

Just what kind of men and women do we have running the government of our country that they would allow these inexcusable antics to go on especially without informing parents? But then, after all, what do the legislators have to fear – we re-elect them no matter what they do to us and now they are in full force to kidnap our children. “Come here my little pretty”!

Coming to take you awayHave you ever read “The State of the American Child: Securing Our Children’s Future” presented by the 111th Congress? You certainly should!

Obama’s White House contends that “studies show for every dollar we invest in early childhood education, we see a rate of return of $7 or more.” PROVE IT!

They made this statement based on the results of a Preschool in Michigan, run at a cost of $19,000 per child more than a half-century ago, and a similar program in North Carolina called the Abecedarian Early Intervention Project.

My question is – did the Federal government pay these schools to participate in this project? It wouldn’t be the first time.

Brookings Institute found in a study that full-time pre-K in 2 states; GA and OK “have had, at best, only small impacts on later academic achievements.” In fact, Georgia elementary-school students’ test scores are mediocre, and Oklahoma test scores have been on the decline for the past decade.

Keep in mind a large majority of our children are already in Pre-K by a government forced economic system of both parents having to work to make ends meet. What isn’t in place is most of the children are not available for the clutches of the Fed’s – yet.

The “problem” isn’t most families’ lack of access to preschool. It’s Washington’s lack of access to your kids for their institutionalized warehousing, data mining, and pedagogical propaganda schemes.

Always keep this in mind – presented to be included in the Congressional Record of January 10, 1963, by then Rep. A.S. Herlong, Jr., of Florida, the official record – Current Communist Goals from the Communist Manifesto in part:

11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind.
12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.
17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teacher’s associations. Put the party-line in all textbooks.
25. Breakdown cultural standards of morality.
26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as normal, natural and healthy. (the NSES) do exactly that.
40, Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and divorce.

Having just been told by congress Obama had lost all funding of the Race To The Top scam, we now see the funding for this massive Pre-K program being put into place.

No secret now – this is just another program to replace (RTTT). The focus is just different – The Preschool Development Grants program will get $250 million for 2015. And it’s another competition pitting states against each other for approval.

Terrell BellNever forget the 1983 production of the Reagan Department of Education under the evil leadership of Terrell Bell producing “A Nation at Risk: The Imperative for Education Reform”. Bell created the National Commission on Excellence in Education and those appointed produced A Nation at Risk.

This document produced by Reagan’s “blue ribbon” education commission proposed to use schools as factories for more effectively turning Millennials – and every generation that follows – into usable raw material for corporate production.

Though filled with right-wing rhetoric in content, it reads like a Soviet proclamation on industrial production. Students are redefined as inputs in a system to maximize American corporate competitiveness, productivity and profits.

It does sound like todays Common Core State Standards and the communist way of life.

Dr. Shirley McCune appearing at the Kansas Governor’s Summit on Education in 1989 with Sen. Alexander stated: “…what we are into is a total restructuring of the society. What is happening in America today…is not simply a change 4 situation and the usual winds of change. What it amounts to is a total transformation of our society…The whole ball game in this particular change society is that there are only two things that really matter. One of those is the information capital that we can put together…Secondly, to produce Human Capital…we have to prepare students not for today’s society, but for a society that’s 20, 30, 40, 50 years down the road…That’s called Social Change Function of Schools.”

And what kind of radically changed, restructured New Age society and education did Dr. McCune have in mind? In her co-authored The Light Shall Set You Free (1996), she talked about a “point of light,” and stated: “Only the souls who are ready to receive the new curriculum will elect to raise their vibrations to match those required to enter the New Age. Did you know that the animals’ souls are the souls of our future children? We are entering the Age of Aquarius…. The goal for all of humanity who will enter the new millennium is to become androgynous…. Educational systems, businesses, political structures and governments all built on self-serving principles, for example, are crumbling, only to be reborn through tremendous pain into higher forms.”

Even more frightening than what she said is the fact at the same time she was a research assistant in School-to-Work at Arizona State University, and then she became an administrative assistant to the Superintendent of Public Instruction for the State of Washington.

And you wonder how education got to where it is today!

That Dr. McCune is a New Age proponent who on November 2, 1989 had used the term “human resource development” more than once is perhaps significant in that earlier in that year, New Age networking Sen. Claiborne Pell had introduced Senate Joint Resolution 135, the “National Commission on Human Resource Development Act,” co-sponsored by Senators Al Gore and Nancy Kassebaum. The resolution was to establish the Center for Human Resource Development and spoke of the “normal aspiration of all citizens to more fully achieve their potential in body, mind and spirit…. [and] there is a role for government to assist in research and education on techniques that promote the… fuller realization of human potential.” Testifying for the measure was Dr. Herbert Benson of Harvard Medical School, who explained the “relaxation response” as experienced by those who practice Zen, Yoga and Transcendental Meditation. The resolution probably would have passed the Senate except that Senator Dan Coates (R) put a “hold” on it and it died. Similar bills – you will be amazed!

In case some of you weren’t old enough to realize it in 1989, Newsweek magazine referred to Bill Clinton as the “New Age President,” and the “Renaissance Weekend” he had attended for years was referred to by The New York Times as a “New Age Retreat.”

Interestingly Sen. Lamar Alexander stated at the same 1989 Summit: “The New American School would probably start with babies and go through the eighth grade. It would be all year-long. It would be open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Every child would have his or her own computer and work-station. Every child would have a team of teachers that would stay with that child until graduation. These schools would ‘serve children from age three months old to age 18′ and they would serve as a ‘one-stop shopping’ center for welfare services ranging from family planning, health care, and other social services. Legislation should ‘assure that all women have access to affordable, high quality parental care and that all infants and children have access to affordable, high quality comprehensive health care'”.

The New American Schools Development Corporation’s radical design teams have been selected to “break the mold” away from basic-traditional education in order to train (not educate?) children for the global workforce. Privatizing education through Charter Schools allows these radical design teams, and other private entities such as The Edison Project (Jeb Bush’s buddy) to rob American citizens of their own tax-supported schools. This plan is being supported by both the right and the left-wing political groups who appear to have met in the radical mid-center on education, social control and a global economy.

Education has now been changed forever:
o Purpose of Education was to transform society from individualism to collectivism
o Fact based education is no longer the primary focus of education
o Students are to be considered as HUMAN CAPITAL and education’s purpose is to train student’s to work

So to fall in line with the dreams of Sen. Alexander we now have ‘The SEED Foundation’ along with SEED charter schools are emerging. How are they different?

It is a college-prep, public boarding Charter school providing a 24-hour-a-day, five-day-a-week learning environment for underserved students from sixth through twelfth grade in Miami-Dade, FL. Founder’s Rajiv Vinnakota and Eric Elder are recipients of Oprah Winfrey’s Angel Network’s Use Your Life Award. That in its self should give any parent a warm and fuzzy feeling. Go here to see where all the money is coming from to support this foundation. (pages 18-21) That is certainly a lot of support.

Does anyone know the definition of an underserved student? Once again all other students are left out of the equation whether it is a good program or not. This educational society is continually putting barriers up and causing division between what they call underserved or lower-income and the rest of the American students.

Aren’t you at least a little curious as to why there is so much attention to our babies? Don’t you feel like you have lost control over your own family?

In Nov., 2014, Obama signed into law a bipartisan bill to improve the quality of federally subsidized child care

provided by the Child Care and Development Block Grant. The bill sets stronger health and safety standards for subsidized care, makes it easier for parents to find and keep quality child care, and takes steps to improve the quality of child care so that children get quality early childhood development services. Sounds wonderful until you realize your children are under the control of the Fed’s.

A national poll released by the First Five Years Fund earlier this year found 71 percent of voters, including 60 percent of Republicans, support greater federal investments and involvement in early childhood education.

Is this true voting Republicans?

The problem I have with the First Five Years Fund is they state they are “bipartisan, however they don’t state who they are, who sits on their board of directors or how they receive their funding. The website mission: Our mission is to create a smarter, stronger, healthier, and more productive America through early childhood education for disadvantaged children through bi-partisan federal advocacy.

What is the deal that every program, grant, voucher, charter school, or scholarship program is being geared to low-income or disadvantaged children? Is it that they will fall in line quicker? Are more vulnerable? More easily indoctrinated? Aren’t the rest of the children in this country worth all of these tax dollars being spent on them through public education, especially when in the final assessment it is all indoctrinating our children?

If not, you need to show me the reason all these legislators, non-educators, corporate types and Soros, Gates, Bush and Walton level financiers are so interested in our children, especially those so very young.

If what I am saying is not the truth, then why aren’t all these investors investing in our public schools to fix what they say is wrong rather than creating baskets full of other ideas, organizations, legislation, failures and control? I don’t buy it is all Unions and I don’t support them either.

Are America’s parents going to continue to keep a blind eye, deaf ears and continue to allow the Federal government and private industry to invade our homes and take away our rights as parents to raise and take care of our children as we believe it should be done – rather than on the backs of the federal government and the misappropriation of our hard-earned tax dollars?

Republicans Are Now In Control – Not Conservatives!

The words of Republican and Conservative are not necessarily a bonding of thoughts, ideas, morals or values.

One represents a frame of mind, the way you want your children to grow up with respect for others and themselves with a strong set of morals and values to carry with them through their lives.

The other is merely the name of a Political party backed by liars and huge money sources. Don’t misunderstand me, I believe the Democrats as a party are also liars. It just so happens the Republicans just came back into full power and they will certainly not clean up their act for the likes of the American people. In addition, the Republicans did nothing for us in stopping Common Core.

We are being told we should trust that party but as a parent and grandparent I can’t do that. They lie – repeatedly. Example – this morning I was cleaning out some papers and I came across the list of the “supporters” listed on Jeb Bush’s web site for the support of the Common Core State Standards.

You know, the web site that is so hard to find. The URL is www.highercorestandards.org but the actual name of the web site is “Conservatives for Higher Education”.

All REPUBLICANS and I wouldn’t call any of them CONSERVATIVE because they support the CCSS. The only changes you will find in the list of supporters are the removal of the names of Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin and Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal.  Ghee, I wonder why?

Maybe it’s because they had the intelligence and backbone to stand-up to the forceful orders of a bunch of “cash cows” telling them how to think and speak. They obviously finally decided to take the time to read the standards, found them unacceptable, below previous standards and unfit for consumption by our children.

Maybe they even decided corporate heads were not qualified to decide what our children should learn – we did do very well before unions, government and cash cows got into education. After all children educated in the 40’s and 50’s put us on the moon!

Interestingly enough, one name still remains on that list. It’s the name of that Preacher who stood in front of his TV cameras in December 2013 and stated he no longer supported the standards and then shortly thereafter went and had lunch with the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) and gave them his worldly advice. You guessed it –

MIKE HUCKABEE!

HUckabee 5I’m not sure which direction some of the ministers in this country are headed, but this one openly lies to the whole country two nights in a row and then at lunch urges state education officials to get rid of the “Common Core” name because it has become “toxic.” However, it would appear he intends to support the standards given the instructions he gave to the CCSSO. “Rebrand it, refocus it, but don’t retreat”. Ouch!

It would seen Mr. Huckabee has become toxic!

Some of our REPUBLICAN governors took Huckabee’s advice to heart:

  • Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer (R) has used an executive order to purge the name “Common Core” from the standards and refer to them, instead, as Arizona’s College and Career Ready Standards: “The Executive Order requires that executive agencies refer to the standards, adopted in 2010, as Arizona’s College and Career Ready Standards, and encourages citizens and education stakeholders to do the same.” Their standards are still CCSS.
  • Iowa’s Governor Terry Branstad (R) also chose to “rebrand” now referring to the standards as the “Iowa Core”. Imaginative!
  • Florida’s Governor Rick Scott (R) opted to rebrand by removing the words “Common Core” from all official education documents. Floridians are under the impression the new standards name is the “Next Generation Sunshine State Standards however that name was put in place in 2007 and remains today for all except the ELA and Math Standards. Those are being referred to simply as 2014 Language Arts Florida Standards and the 2014 Mathematics Florida Standards and they were renamed in February, 2014.

When Scott was asked if the standards had just been re-branded he replied, “The Florida Standard is derived from the Next Generation Sunshine State Standard, which was derived from earlier versions of the Sunshine State Standards. These standards pre-dated Common Core and are truly Florida’s own standards.”

What about Florida’s obligation to the Federal Government from our acceptance of Race to the Top money? Gov. Scott said: “Race to the Top was a four-year grant. That grant has expired, it’s done. We are no longer under obligation to the Federal Government. So we are pushing back against any Federal intrusion into our public schools.”

This statement is also a lie since Florida applied for an extension to complete all their requirements when they filed their last report. Another lie, we still have money and he has an extension until Sept 1, 2015 – the RTTT deal is not over!

RTTT Extension

  • Indiana’s Governor Mike Pence (R), the first to accept the CCSS and then the first to supposedly “replace” the CCSS is still in hot water with his parents and voters. It is obvious the new Indiana standards are so close to the old ones that stating they are “rebranded” is certainly more appropriate than saying they are changed.

Florida’s Governor Scott thought he was smart to call for 3 meetings to hear complaints about the standards, but he forgot two things at those meetings – the parents and himself! He couldn’t find the time to attend any of those meetings or the Town Hall events he called for – but at the same time he found the time to go all the way to South Florida to have dinner with Jeb Bush.

How is your state doing? Are they continually lying to you, playing a cover-up game? Florida tells us they have made 99 changes to the CCSS to make them our own, but no details showing what those changes supposedly are. The 99 changes involving cursive writing and calculus will not be tested on in the general state tests, out of eleven thousand math and English standards means nothing.

It is called TEST UNTIL YOU DROP!

All the participating CC states were required to file a yearly report to the FDOE if they received Race To The Top (RTTT) funds explaining how they spent the funds, how much they have left, what goals they listed on their applications have been completed and which ones haven’t and why! Florida RETAINED most of the $700M they received in Tallahassee in round 2 according to their own words to pay for a flubbed up CCSS web site and contracts they needed to put in place to be compliant.

I noticed this past week several local school districts around the country had amendments or referendums on their ballots to increase school taxes. I’m not surprised, but I am surprised the voters were dumb enough to vote for the increases to their property taxes to pay for this boondoggle of a Trojan Horse. Are you really prepared to take head on the estimated costs of the CCSS?  $1,024,163,000 is one estimate.

Interestingly enough in Florida, Scott stayed as far away from the topic of the CCSS as he could during the campaign. Even Jeb Bush hitting the trail for Scott tried to stay away from the topic, but Bush never does know when not to lie. When asked about the changes to Florida’s CCSS he said, “he agrees with Scott’s statement that “Common Core is out” in Florida. Florida’s changes to Common Core were not substantial, and standards are now “Florida-based” and higher”.

How can Bush say “CC is out of FL” & then “concede FL made changes to the CCSS that were not substantial“? Makes Absolutely No Sense and in my playbook it’s called “doublespeak”!

How do the Master Deceivers in your state work? The ones in Florida tried to convince the FDOE they have complied with all requirements while at the same time convincing the public that the Florida standards are something other than Common Core with a new name or “lipstick on a pig.” Notice the changes here, FL has all 3 standards!

Common Core Standards

Florida powers to be tripped all over themselves in trying to convince everyone the CCSS were gone, yet at the same time, after having asked for an extension and renewed their NCLB waiver in June 2014, it would have broken the rules of the waiver – and Rick Scott really likes to play with money.

Equally interesting is these states have all had to sign a “memorandum of understanding” with the FDOE regarding RTTT if they were planning to apply for the grants or expect to be picked, which is what Florida did. Contrary to what Florida’s governor said, it is obvious the rules still apply regarding RTTT because they asked for the extension to comply.

I hope the “powers to be in charge” of these states understand clearly “we” have NOT been educated with the CCSS. We know full well you are liars, fence jumpers, manipulators, deceivers, and in bed with the likes of Carnegie, Gates, Soros, Bush Dynasty, ALEC, NEA, NTA, Charter School Management Companies and actually too many others to name. Anyone who is willing to put some “cash” into your election “cow” – you will cop a deal with.

That is everyone but the American people.

Florida’s raging battle over Choice/Charter/Vouchers is beginning to take on a sickening level. Actually there is no difference between the “money men” involved in vouchers, choice and charters. They are all part of the same pot with the same legislature passing all this lenient legislation.

Vouchers/Choice nor Charters do not get our children away from Common Core and I thought that was the main issue. The Florida Supreme court has already ruled once against Vouchers being unconstitutional according to the state statutes. The legislature did it anyway and now they are back in court.

Politics did had its ugly hand in the last election when it came to education right down to the local boards. There is no love loss by me for the “Step Up For Student’s” and nor should there be for you. They are just another “cash cow” looking to fill coffers in the name of the “low-income” children. But they all have been playing the low-income game since 1965 and it never gets any better. Why? They all continue to use those children as scape goats rather encouraging them and laying out the world in front of them. Money does not buy good education!

Interesting the support of the voucher programs and like the Charter school mess, there is no one minding the store. There are so many scandals surrounding the McKay Scholarship program along with the legislation that was passed that even though a Private school is receiving Public taxpayer funds, they don’t have to abide by FOIA requests. So who is minding the stores?

David Figlio of Northwestern University, who has evaluated the scholarship program on an annual basis for the state – guess whose side he’s on. If he is being paid by the state, you need to look no further.

Some in Florida believe that in re-electing Scott he would be “thankful” and be willing to talk “dump the CCSS” completely. That is not going to happen. Not only is the man a businessman first and foremost, he never (even in his own lawsuit) faces his accusers nor answers questions about anything.

Although it was Charlie Crist and the Republican House & Senate that gave Florida the CCSS, the state would have been better off to elect Crist since the monopoly of republicans in Tallahassee would never have given Crist anything he wanted. They won’t give it to us either.

Nor will those in D.C. The republicans took charge of the House and Senate in ’94 and ’02 and exactly what did that give us?  Promises!

You are right if you think my faith in any politician has flown out the proverbial window and I still don’t understand why you put all of your faith in them rather than your own intelligence especially after they have lied to you so many times. Most should have been removed from their jobs at the local level already. You would have been!

They are ruining our children’s futures, actively working at creating the North American Union as a prelude to the New World Order and pushing your children into UN/UNESCO communist education .

As J. Edgar Hoover (FBI) stated at the time Eisenhower signed The Communist Control Act in 1954, “you are forcing the Communist Party movement to go underground” which is exactly what it did for a period of time. Once they realized no one was going to act on the ACT, they began to slowly surface through the building up of unions and control all over the country. We now even openly elect communists into elected offices.

I see this country as having been an expansive experiment – touched by the hand of God, implemented by Godly people and what do we have today? Nothing but scraps left – 97% of the people asleep or could care less. If you are sitting on the sidelines watching what politicians have done to this country with their egos and self-serving attitude it is truly a sad sight.

I sincerely hope more states are successful in gaining back the control of the education of their children and along with that the morals and values that were once the strong force behind this great country.

The Rest Of the Story!

Conveniently Forgotten Facts.

Back in 1969 a group of Black Panthers decided that a fellow black panther named Alex Rackley needed to die. Rackley was suspected of disloyalty. Rackley was first tied to a chair. Once safely immobilized, his friends tortured him for hours by, among other things, pouring boiling water on him.

When they got tired of torturing Rackley, Black Panther member, Warren Kimbro took Rackley outside and put a bullet in his head. Rackley’s body was later found floating in a river about 25 miles north of New Haven, Connecticut.

Perhaps at this point you’re curious as to what happened to these Black Panthers?

KimbroIn 1977, that’s only eight years later, only one of the killers was still in jail. The shooter, Warren Kimbro, managed to get a scholarship to Harvard and became good friends with none other than Al Gore. He later became an assistant dean at an Eastern Connecticut State College. Isn’t that something!!!

As a ’60s radical you can pump a bullet into someone’s head and a few years later, in the same state, you can become an assistant college dean!

Only in America !!!

Erica Huggins was the woman who served the Panthers by boiling the water for Mr. Rackley’s torture… Some years later, Ms. Huggins was elected to a California School Board.

How in the world do you think these killers got off so easily?

Maybe it was in some part due to the efforts of two people who came to the defense of the Panthers.
These two people actually went so far as to shut down Yale University with demonstrations in defense of the accused Black Panthers during their trial.

Bill and HillaryOne of these people was none other than Bill Lan Lee. Mr. Lee, (or Mr. Lan Lee, as the case may be,) isn’t a college dean. He isn’t a member of a California School Board. He is now head of the United States Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, appointed by none other than Bill Clinton.

O.K., so who was the other Panther defender? Is this other notable Panther defender now a school board member? Is this other Panther apologist now an assistant college dean? No, neither!

The other Panther defender was, like Lee, a radical law student at Yale University at the time. She is now known as The “smartest woman in the world.” She is none other than the former Secretary of State and former Democratic senator from the State of New York —- the former First Lady, the incredible Hillary Rodham Clinton .Hiliary

And now, as Paul Harvey would say; “You know the rest of the story”. And of course we know what Hillary’s response would be – “What difference does it make?” I wonder what this nasty woman would think if it were her child?

The People’s Voice – A Commentary

freedom-of-speechThe People’s Voice is a national group that operates with no government, political, corporate or religious affiliations or influence. We are Free Americans. We are not Republicans, Democrats, Independents or any other of these endless parties which claim to represent our best interests. We are mainly American Veterans from WWII to the present. There are many of us. The only special group we belong to is America. The doctrines which give us our rights and our orders are The United States Constitution, The Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights and few others. These documents do not belong to our elected government; they belong to the People of the United States.

Our out of control government is shredding every concept of what America is all about. They are funded primarily by corporations who have their own private interests on the national level and, of course, abroad, which are not the interests of the American People. Enron and WorldCom are primary examples of the damage and these are the ones we know about. What about the others? The law’s the government has passed recently against these corporate crimes is not putting any American back to work or food on their tables. These types of activities put our entire nation in harm’s way and the entire world sees this.

13th AmendmentOur politicians have violated the ‘original Thirteenth Amendment of the Constitution’ wherein that no lawyer shall hold any political office within our national government (and they know this). One cannot serve two masters.

They have permitted the pride of the American People to be exported into other nations – taking away our industry and our jobs. This makes it absolutely impossible to pursue the American Dream of Life, Liberty, Freedom and Peace. We can’t afford this. Literally 100’s of thousands of jobs have been lost with pension funds and health care being sucked down the drain into oblivion.

There are responsibilities that come with Freedom.

Taking for granted certain liberties and freedoms without understanding what must accompany them and in order to benefit from them is pure ignorance. How can you allow yourself to believe that you have these rights, in any degree, if you do not know what any of them are?

You may have been born in America, but, what does that really mean?

What is America? Why is America?

It takes work, constantly. It takes participation, actively.

It means keeping a watchdog’s eyes to monitor it on a 24/7 schedule; as individuals and not as some trumped-up government propaganda machine as the Homeland Security Act suggests, or the American Freedom Corps. Stay away from these groups. They are designed to manipulate a free people into believing that they will fix our problems when in fact they are citizens vs. citizen’s spy-networks. Wake up!

When Americans are met with the challenge to question the activities of our government elect then they should get in their face if need be to make sure they are doing the job they were elected/hired to do. When things go astray then ask yourself what you did to prevent it. Now, what are you going to do to correct it?

If Americans allow themselves to believe that if they just sit in the comforts of their home, go to church regularly, or not, shuffle their kids off to school or home school, go to work, pay their taxes and keep their mouths shut then everything will be alright because you had nothing to do with it.

That’s right! You had NOTHING to do with it.

Don’t just sit there and assume that everything is alright. Apathy is the path to slavery, slavery is the body of bondage and bondage is the path to revolution.

Revolution is a tool to break those chains.

Revolution is not a bad thing, it is, however, an unfortunate turn of events, but, it is also the very device that allowed America to become one of the world’s greatest nations in the archives of history. It was the driving force to construct our very constitution. Revolution built this country!

ConCon – Throwing the Baby Out With the Bath Water!

UPDATE: 2015 Ted Cruz, presidental candidate in the 2016 election is in support of Mark Levin and his endorsement of the Conventions of States. Supporters need to do some further background research on this candidate and any others supporting a Con V.

I have written about my feeling on this several times before and now I’m angry.

We have hard-hitting Americans who influence the people of this country pushing for this monster – Mark Levin, George Soros, David Barton, Michael Farris, Mark Meckler and others and THEN we have organizations that are portraying themselves as Constitutional supportive Americans that are also supporting a ConCon. All of these people have an AGENDA as to why they want YOU to BELIEVE this is the thing to do.

To begin with, all these hard hitters in support of the ConCon might do well to actually learn what the Constitution says especially those like Michael Farris who calls himself a Constitutional lawyer.

NWO 4Have they ever told you there is a NEW Constitution sitting on the sidelines for them to vote on if they choose to? Have they told you that behind closed doors some of them refer to our country as a Democracy and not a Republic? The president and legislators may be acting like we are a democracy – even stating so, however according to the Constitution of the United States we are still a REPUBLIC and there is an order of the way things should be done. To call some of these people liars is a gentle word.

Let’s start with “MoveToAmend” an online website gathering signatures to push for their support of a ConCon. They have a great deal of organizations that are supporting their efforts and they claim they have 330,178 signatures to prove it.Look at their national leaders – do you really want this Occupy, Democrats and the likes of George Soros leading the pack FOR a ConCon?

The web page also states “End Corporate Rule, Legalize Democracy”. That should get your attention. They claim their organization was founded because of a Supreme Court ruling on January 21, 2010, with its ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission. The Supreme Court ruled that corporations are persons, entitled by the U.S. Constitution to buy elections and run our government. Human beings are people; corporations are legal fictions.

It goes on to say, “The Supreme Court is misguided in principle, and wrong on the law. In a democracy, the people rule”.

REPUBLIC: That form of government in which the powers of sovereignty are vested in the people and are exercised by the people, either directly, or through representatives chosen by the people, to whom those powers are specially delegated.

DEMOCRACY: That form of government in which the sovereign power resides in and is exercised by the whole body of free citizens directly or indirectly through a system of representation, as distinguished from a monarchy, aristocracy, or oligarchy.

A republic and a democracy are identical in every aspect except one. In a republic the sovereignty is in each INDIVIDUAL person. In a democracy the sovereignty is in the GROUP. (In a pure democracy, 51% beats 49%. In other words, the minority has no right’s. The minority only has those privileges granted by the dictatorship of the majority.)

When you read it this way you can better understand why SOME want to get rid of our flag and show no respect for it that it is just a piece of fabric, but when you say the Pledge of Allegiance you are not only pledging to the flag, but is representation of the Republic.

Who are the people (BOD) behind this Move To Amend group? Ashley Sanders, long-time community activist, works for Peaceful Uprising a climate justice organization and helped organize Occupy Freedom DC and Salt Lake City; David Cobb, a lawyer who devotes himself to full-time activism to achieve real democracy in the United States; Daniel Lee, is an active member of Occupy Los Angeles and InterOccupy. He participated in Occupy encampments across the country as well as done community organizing locally in Los Angeles; and George Friday who has a degree in political science, is a community organizer and works on social justice change. There are 6 more with similar backgrounds but I am not going to bore you – you get the picture!

So this group wants to use a ConCon to make the world a better place by becoming a democracy on the Progressive, social justice side.

Here comes the right side – or those who tell us they are Conservative and believe in the Republic.

Mark LevinMark Levin – I was a follower of Mark Levin however I cannot find a rational reason he is supporting/pushing the ConCon other than to back up what he stated in his book. My personal observation tells me that partially he has NOT done his homework and I came to this decision because of his loud support of Jennie Beth Martin and the Tea Party Patriots. Those of us that have been associated with Jennie Beth, her organization and the dirty tricks that were played on the American people (and still are) know things that most supporters do not. He also does not believe in Nullification – hum!

What Mark Levin said in his book “The Liberty Amendments” is simply not true. His reasoning of a “balanced budget” amendment actually would legalize Congress’ unconstitutional spending and it does absolutely nothing to control the debt. The original writings of our Framers actually told the states what to do when the government violates the Constitution – Nullification of the unlawful act is among the first of the recommended remedies – not one of which is “amendment of the Constitution”. States should nullify unconstitutional acts of the federal government yet most of the 50 states are refusing to do that! Why?

Federalist PapersIn Federalist No.44 ((12th paragraph from end), Madison says elect more faithful representatives! But we keep re-electing the same sorry people because we know their names and they are in our party. So then you go read Washington’s Farewell address and he tells you the political parties will be the ruination of the country because of the egos of men – those very same men who are trying to tell us we need a ConCon so they can change whatever they want into whatever they want.

Those of us who respect our Constitution don’t want to change it but require Federal and State officials to obey the Constitution we have or elect ones who will. The Oath of Office in Art. VI, last clause, requires federal and state officials to support the Constitution. This requires them to refuse to submit to acts of the federal government which violate the Constitution. The Oath of Office requires obedience to the Constitution alone. The Oath does not require obedience to persons, to any agency of the federal government, or to any federal court.

David BartonDavid Barton – My spiritual self cannot get a handle on his support of this ConCon venture, of which even his explanation is not clear – it’s like walking endlessly in a fog continually asking yourself ‘where did I miss the signs’, or ‘can I believe anything he has said’ and better still ‘can I still trust my gut instincts”? I have always had very good discernment – sometimes to a fault as people think I am “stuck-up” and it’s not that at all. I love people, but I never walk into a room until I have scoped it out entirely and find the best place to put myself. Actually this used to drive my kids nuts when they were growing up especially when it came to some of their choices in friends. The only reason I can find for some of these men supporting this effort is based on their religious belief following the the far right evangelical Dominionist religion and that would fit – See note on Ted Cruz as this is the religion he follows.

Michael Farris 2Michael Farris – He is referred to as a Constitutional Attorney (although this writer has found following KrisAnne Hall to be more truthful when it comes to constitutional law). He is the Executive Director of ParentalRights.org; founder of the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) and Patrick Henry College. Home Schooler’s parents all over the country look to Farris almost as their protector and savior from the big bad wolves and he could be. But his total distortion in regards to the Parental Rights Act (PRA) is leading all parents down a path of parental right’s destruction.

The Declaration of Independence tells us our Rights come from God not the government; they are unalienable. The very purpose of the government is to SECURE the rights God gave to us and when the government seeks to take away our rights it is time to throw them out with the “bath water”. The United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights enumerates 30 + rights and states they come from “man” (constitution or laws). Not God but Man! Wrong!

Now to take a look at Michael Farris website parentalrights.org and see what he says about our Rights. If you take the time to go to the web site you will see that once again it is being stated parental rights are coming from the Constitution and not God. That they are fundamental rights not unalienable rights. So now from what I read on the PR website they state:

Today the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) is approaching a possible ratification by the United States Senate. This treaty, as harmless as it may appear, is capable of attacking the very core of the child-parent relationship, removing parents from their central role in the growth and development of a child, and replacing them with the long arm of government supervision within the home.

I will take Mr. Farris’ own words and turn them back on him. Yes the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child is a very dangerous document and must never be agreed to by the United States; however, Mr. Farris uses that as an example to his followers as the very reason to support his PRA when they are no different. Both state parental rights are coming from the government not GOD. I wonder if some of the very religious Home School families realize this.

Now Mr. Farris, for unclear reasons, has decided we should put our entire Constitution on the line in aiding those who wish to firm up our country as a Democracy or even worse Tyranny by government.

From Publius Hildah Parental rights: God-given and Unalienable? Or Government-granted and Revocable? 7/2-/13) Farris uses Supreme Court Justice Scalia’s Dissent in Troxel v. Granville (2000) using this to support his own theory that unless a right is enumerated in the federal Constitution, judges can’t enforce it, and the right can’t be protected. Scalia’s stated in part: parental rights are “unalienable and come from God and are from the 9th Amendment; the Declaration of Independence does NOT delegate power to the federal courts – only the federal constitution; It is for State Legislators and candidates for that office to argue that the State has no power to interfere with parents’ God-given authority over the rearing of their children, and to act accordingly. [The People need to elect State Legislators who understand that the State may not properly infringe God-given parental rights]; the federal Constitution does not authorize judges to come up with their own lists of what “rights” people have; and the federal Constitution does not mention “parental rights” so the federal courts have no “judicial power” over these types of cases.

In his closing, Scalia warned against turning family law over to the federal government:
“…If we embrace this un-enumerated right … we will be ushering in a new regime of judicially prescribed, and federally prescribed, family law. I have no reason to believe that federal judges will be better at this than state legislatures; and state legislatures have the great advantages of doing harm in a more circumscribed area, of being able to correct their mistakes in a flash, and of being removable by the people.”

Parental Rights are a state issue so again, maybe Mr. Farris should go back to law school. When he says: “4. The Parental Rights Amendment does not give the Judiciary legislative power but constrains the judiciary’s exercise of its existing power” his words are false. The PRA expressly delegates power to the federal and state governments to infringe on God-given parental rights.

Do you want this man being in charge of any part of a ConCon or even believe his arguments?

Mark MecklerMark Meckler – Last but certainly not least is Mark Meckler the former co-founder of the Tea Party Patriots (TPP) who at the time was drawing a monthly salary of $12K from grassroots donator’s to the TPP as well as Jennie Beth Martin and her husband. Meckler has moved on to forming Citizens for Self-Governance where he is the President. He states “their focus is on broadening the philosophical reach of the idea of ‘self-governance’ outside of the Tea Party movement”. So much for the former support of the grassroots guys!

His simple and mis-guided reasoning for the support of a ConCon is “By calling a convention of states, we can stop the federal spending and debt spree, the power grabs of the federal courts, and other misuses of federal power. The current situation is precisely what the Founders feared, and they gave us a solution we have a duty to use.”

This is interesting as we already have laws and the Constitution, Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights in place with a feeding of the Federalist Papers to oversee all of what he mentioned. The problem is the Politicians refuse to abide by any of them – so what is the point of adding more amendments?

Just what is the point gentlemen? Since you prescribe yourselves as Conservatives, what the hell are you doing lying in bed with George Soros!

SECRET MEETINGS INVOLVING CON CON

Now They Meet In Secret – There should be NOTHING in regard to a Con Con that is kept secret from the American people! We are talking about our lives, our very futures and those of our families. Once again we are being treated as less than dirt, a spec of dirt on their suit coats and we, the true Americans of this country are expected to sit back and just let this role off of our backs.

New Threat of Constitutional Convention by Phyllis Schlafly December 6, 2013

This Saturday is not just about pausing to remember the stealth bombing of Pearl Harbor and the brave individuals whose lives were lost. This December 7th is also about wielding off an attack on the very thing those Americans were defending — the United States Constitution.

On December 7, 2013, at George Washington’s home in Mount Vernon, there will be a closed-door meeting for hand-picked State Legislators from across the country. This secret meeting is designed as a pre-convention to prepare for what is being called “Convention of the States” (better known as an Article V Constitutional Convention or Con Con) for the purpose of proposing amendments to the Constitution by using Mark Levin’s book, The Liberty Amendments as a blueprint.

Article V of the U.S. Constitution delineates the methods for amending the Constitution, beginning traditionally with Congress, but also offering another method that has never been used: “The Congress . . . on the Application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments . . .”

Some suggest that Article V creates a path to bypass Congress through a so-called “Convention of the States.” But, in reality, the only power the states have is the opportunity to submit an “application” asking Congress to call a convention. Hundreds of such applications have been submitted over the years, with widely different purposes and wording, but if Congress ever decides to act, Article V gives Congress the exclusive power to issue the “call” for a convention to propose “amendments.”

Since the only way to call an Article V Convention is through Congress, we can logically assume then that Congress will want to control the Convention by making the rules. We know that Congress recognizes this power from an attempt in the past by former Democrat Senator Sam Ervin (NC) and Republican Congressman Henry Hyde (IL) to pass legislation that would govern a Convention.Constitution 4

Those organizing this Mt. Vernon Assembly believe a Constitutional Convention is the answer to the political ills facing our nation. We understand that conservatives are desperate for a solution to this do-nothing Congress and the tyrannical, scandal-ridden Administration of Barack Obama. We agree with Mark Levin on a host of other issues, but The Liberty Amendments is like a candy jar for conservatives, proposing every feel-good amendment one can imagine, but it is lacking in political realities.

The reality is that conservatives have not won a national election since 2004. The reality is that the one who controls the gavel will rule the convention. The reality is that liberals would love nothing more than to put the U.S. Constitution on a chopping block.

We know that this Assembly is born of the real frustration of conservatives who look with dismay at the obvious destruction of our fundamental liberties. But, unfortunately, the United States Congress is not composed of a conservative majority, and furthermore, neither are the majority of State Legislatures.

Instead of proposing that we subject the Constitution to this great unknown, why don’t these State Legislators start by forcing votes to reject federal funds and the strings attached, by opposing national standards such as the Common Core, by stopping the implementation of Obamacare, or by making strides to protect life and marriage?

If we cannot win a national election, or control our City Councils, State Legislatures or Congressional Delegation, do we really think that “We the People” will control a national Constitutional Convention called by Congress? The large liberal states in Congress will certainly have the votes to set rules. So, we can rule out the possibility that we could pass any of the amendments suggested by conservatives, especially those that Levin includes in his book.

do nothing congressFurthermore, those that currently violate the Constitution are not being impeached, removed from office, or prosecuted, so do we really think that rewriting the document is prudent of those trying to defend it?

Can we really entrust our Constitution to the political jockeying of Congress? Consider the importance of some of the critical rules the Congress will determine regarding an Article V Constitutional Convention:
• When and where will a Convention be held?
• How many delegates will each state receive?
• How many votes will each state receive? One vote per state like the original Constitutional Convention? Or, will delegates be apportioned by population giving large states more votes?
• Will the delegates be elected or appointed by Congress, the State Legislature, political parties, or the people?
• Will Governors, who will assume they should represent their states, be delegates?
• How will the President of the Convention, who will rule the Convention with his gavel, be chosen?
• Will members of Congress write themselves into the Convention rules as delegates?
• Would it be wise or possible to hold the Convention in secret like the original convention to minimize the power of the media?
We must face the reality that an Article V Constitutional Convention could jeopardize our most basic liberties enshrined in the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Consider this: Suppose that at a strategic moment during the Convention there is a horrifying tragedy like a public shooting, with all of the emotion and attending media hysteria. Our Second Amendment right “to keep and bear arms” could be at serious risk along with many other Constitutional liberties.

Furthermore, after the amendments are written, can we be assured that State Legislatures are strong enough to refuse to ratify any egregious amendments that might be passed by the Convention? Did not three-fourths of the State Legislatures ratify the Sixteenth and Seventeenth Amendments that give the Federal Government incredible power that they wield over Americans today?

We agree that the United States Constitution is in jeopardy, but the substance of that sacred document is not the problem. The problem is the elected officials that refuse to honor, defend, and uphold the principles and laws set forth by it.

The idea of a Constitutional Convention is not only a bad one, but it is a distraction from the real task at hand — winning elections. We do not need new amendments to the Constitution. Our Founders gave their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to establish this land of liberty. We need Americans to do the same and return to the original, founding principles of our great country.
