Jeb Bush Caught with His Pants Down Again!

We the People caught you! Florida is the absolute worst state when it comes to the education of our children. Not only are we still being contaminated by the likes of Jeb Bush and his uneducated ideas regarding the education of our children, we have the largest herd of lap dogs in the country continually sniffing at his backside.

Not many independent thinkers here. Everyone just plays follow the leader and this has been going on since the passage of the original legislation putting Charter schools in motion.

To top it off we have a governor (Scott) who thinks he is the best thing ever since the invention of peanut butter and is just about as sticky. His idea of education has become to “follow the leader” being Jeb Bush taking funds from traditional public schools and playing like Congress to load the wallet of Charter schools with our tax dollars. And Scott thinks he deserves to win a seat in the U.S. Senate next year – watch out!

Part of Florida’s new legislation is to now protect the failing charter schools by keeping information from the public regarding the Charter school testing scores and results. Included in this “swamp” package is the forcing of the “D” and “F” scored schools to close or become Charter schools, ignoring the laid out “turnaround” plans by the “elected” school boards.

Bush and Scott both have endorsed this joke of a new Secretary of Education who like the two of them, know nothing about educating children – just the manipulation of money and lies.

How many times do people have to learn about the depth of the manipulation that has gone on in this state and others to capture the control of our children turning most of them into walking and talking “dumbed down” fabrics of what they could have been?

You all can take your 21st Century College Readiness BULL and stick it! These children are no more ready for college than the man in the moon. They can’t add and subtract simple change transactions or read well enough to comprehend what they are reading. And you think they are going to get into college? No, the real plan is for them not to get into college – that is what the “school-to-work” legislation was all about. LINK

Do you remember a couple of years ago Condoleezza Rice, CFR member, stating she thought the CFR should take over the education of our children? Now the New World Order freaks are trying to get their two cents into the equation.

Tax-supported school choice eroding our public, private, religious, and home school education is the vehicle to change not only the right of Americans to choose the kind of education they wish for their children but is removing our representative form of government to unelected councils.

Heck, people like Sen. Lamar Alexander and his lapdogs believe the system should have our children cradle to grave, 24/7. They want to take them from the hospital nursery. Just what is in the minds of these “swamp feeders”? Do they intend to begin just walking into hospital nurseries and taking our babies to be raised by the government?

Childrens Future

Never forget that Jeb Bush and all the cronies including members of Congress, former presidents, Pope Francis and your local government are working toward a New World Order and have no shame in using our children to accomplish that by indoctrination in the schools and removing your rights.

Jeb Bush’s comment on the campaign trail that he “actually carries little Baby Jesus in his pants pocket because it’s my strength,” makes me ill. This is a man that has spent his life following directives to ruin our children’s future’s and he is going to place the blame on Jesus? Reading this will tell you he does NOT follow Jesus’ lessons. Remember a good share of his funding for his foundations comes from Bill Gates, destroyer of all he touches!

On the other hand, Bush expressed this gobbledygook during the campaign “I am asked sometimes whether I would ever allow my decisions in government to be influenced by my Christian faith. The simple and safe reply is no, never, of course not.” Can’t have it both ways Jebbie – liar, liar, pants on fire!

DeVos ‘ push is for all schools to be under the title of private dances in tune with everything Bush has tried to do for years. I would guess that along with those in the Senate who also were sitting on the Education Committee and approved her for her appointment and received political donations from DeVos, Bush made a strong recommendation for her appointment to Trump.

Again, Mr. Trump, I thought we were draining the swamp, not filling it up!

When it comes to truth and Jeb Bush you won’t usually hear it and it certainly got out there during the 2016 campaign. Words matter, so it’s important to know that Bush never calls public school districts public schools districts. Instead, he says the United States has “over 13,000 government-run monopolies run by unions.” He doesn’t mention that some districts don’t have any unions, that unions can’t win a contract agreement by politicians, and that a number of governors have sharply curtailed the power of unions.

Bush advocates using public money for students to use to pay for private school tuition to include religious schools. I am not so sure that fits well with the 1st Amendment however in Florida it will do no good to file a lawsuit, because when it comes to anything education the judges are refusing to hear the cases.

The focus of his Bush’s 1998 campaign for Florida governor was the “Opportunity Scholarship Program,” a voucher program that allowed state funds to be used to pay tuition at church-run schools. It was struck down by the state Supreme Court in 2006. A short time later, the Florida Senate, controlled by Republicans, refused his request to place a constitutional amendment on the ballot repealing a provision in the state constitution separating church and state.

Bush and his legislative cronies tried to pass a similar amendment in 2012 and the voters shot it down. So as per usual, Bush found a back door for his scam. His Florida legislator lapdogs passed the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program, which allows students to attend private school with the help of publicly funded tax credits. In November 2014, he opened the annual conference of his Foundation for Excellence in Education by having himself introduced by a student who touted the program for helping to send her to private school.

In July 2014, Citizens for Strong Schools, Inc. and Fund Education Now amended a five-year-old lawsuit alleging the state has failed to adequately fund public education to include new claims concerning the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program and the McKay voucher program for students with special needs stating they were lowering funding for public schools and increasing funding for Charter/Choice/Vouchers by unconstitutionally “diverting” money from Florida’s public schools. They lost!  Link

Bush has said that “we can’t just outsource public education to bureaucracies and public education unions and hope for the best,” but he is perfectly comfortable on outsourcing public education to for-profit education companies who open public charter schools but run them like a business. (Is it a coincidence that Florida has the second-highest number of for-profit charter schools?) AND WE ARE STILL #47 IN THE COUNTRY!

Florida’s corporate brained Governor Scott already has a program in the state he claims is bringing jobs to Florida called Enterprise Florida which has for years been dumping tax dollars into it and at the same time giving horrendous tax credits to the corporations who are playing the game.

Now once again, Florida is using more tax credits on corporate income taxes and insurance premium taxes for donations to scholarship-funding organizations (SFOs), nonprofits that provide scholarships for low-income students and children in foster care and offer funds for transportation to public schools outside a child’s district. Businesses get a dollar-for-dollar tax credit for SFO contributions, with total credits capped at $559.1 million. Unused credits can be carried forward to the next fiscal year.

They claim this plan proves they are NOT using tax dollars for the voucher scam, however, the shift in income must come from somewhere and with Scott looking at increasing state property taxes to make up for the shortfall, tax dollars are being affected, even if only indirectly.

  • Scholarships can be worth up to $5,886, though they may not exceed private school tuition and fees. Transportation grants for public schools are worth up to $500.
  • Again, the whole program is geared to “low-income” children which in itself is a form of “segregation”.

Back in 2011, Charter Schools USA, a charter school management company, makes its money charging the school a management fee similar to what happens when you live in an Association development. At that time, that money was a percentage of the $150 million in tax $$ that the state was paying the company to run its 25 Charter schools in Florida. At just one of their schools in Osceola County, Charter Schools USA was paid $822,182 in administration fees for just one year.

I wonder just exactly what you get for those $$! Lack of legislative oversite because the owners are buddies with Bush and most of the legislators who I would remind you, in Florida, are ALLOWED to own or be affiliated with Charter schools while at the same time writing, voting on and passing Charter school legislation. Do you think this is a conflict of interest?

As Bush walks around puffing his chest out at his clever work, you will never hear him talk about the Charter school test scores that were either no better or worse than the public schools. Or that under his program of assigning letter grades to schools based on test scores, a disproportionate number of charters get failing academic letter grades from the state. Or that Florida’s charter sector has been marred by numerous closures of charters — some even during the school year — and repeated financial mismanagement and corruption scandals.

Did you ever hear of your children going to school on a Monday morning and the school is locked up – lock, stock and barrel? Happens with Charter schools all the time.

The standardized test scores that the Bush reforms used to hold schools and districts “accountable” to came from his now-defunct Florida Comprehensive Accountability Test (FCAT) program, which collapsed over the years as the integrity of the test scores were questioned repeatedly by school districts.  In 2012, after a disaster with an FCAT writing test in which only 27 percent of fourth graders scored proficient — down from 81 percent the year before. It wasn’t the first time either.

And don’t think this hasn’t been tried before – the voucher and privatization experiment. In the 1980’s, Chile under the dictator Augusto Pinochet and continued by both liberal and conservative leadership, moved to vouchers and privatization to supposedly offer better education access for all.

In 1995, beloved by many Milton Friedman used Chile as an example as to why the U.S. needed to privatize public education. Thank God, we didn’t take his advice, since the voucher and privatization experiment in Chile resulted in a greater inequality and less educational access.

If you think my thoughts regarding charter/choice/vouchers is a “stand alone” prorogate, read some of the comments made by a DeVos Michigan Charter school (Eagle Crest Charter Academy) (ECCA) board president Brian Polet, and what he has to say in his resignation letter:

“This copy-written, corporate driven education model has been developed by non-teachers and Edu-crats from Washington to Lansing to the detriment of students, parents, taxpayers and local school boards. Without control of curriculum and a limited control of budgets, CC has effectively removed local control from parents and put it the hands of ESPs, the Dept. of Ed and state boards.”

“As a logical conclusion to this hokum, ECCA has fallen victim to this Soviet-style education. The chaos that has ensued is not the consequence of bad management by NHA, but a result of a flawed educational system.  More disturbing to me is the inability to guarantee the data privacy of our students. Equally troubling is the ability for educational personal to manipulate tests and assessments to move any student into certain fields or vocations and to modify behavior without consent or knowledge of the parent.

Sadly, as a volunteer I have no “skins” in this game. This puts the board and its individual members at a decided disadvantage against the combined efforts of CMU and NHA. I want no part of a lousy educational mode. With CC, we no longer have the Socratic model of education, but a new Bill Gates vocational schooling for worker bees and drones. Plainly, I have not left education, education has left me and more importantly, our students.”

Keep in mind that Jeb Bush is also a lap dog to the New World Order!

Parents it is time to rise up against this Socialist agenda and say NO MORE!

Public schools are being closed in communities where they are most needed. In Arizona, the teachers in Charter Schools do not have to be certified. Federal, and State laws and regulations have been waived to serve the new “choice” schools, but these are subjects not being addressed by the vested interest.) Back to the list.

The Center on Education Reform is listed as a resource on the list. The contact person is Jeanne Allen, formerly with the Heritage Foundation. (Ed. Note: Jeanne Allen still heads this group and is now showing up at meetings sponsored by The Excellence Foundation, headed by former Governor of Florida, Jed Bush (brother to George W Bush, Jr.). They are now promoting “The Common Core Standards” and the performance-based test, aligned to the standards. The almost same identical legislation is appearing state by state and is in all probability written by the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) or The Council for Foreign Relations (CFR) who have now joined with the right political organizations trying to convince citizens that our country is in danger of collapse due to children not being trained for the global workforce). The conference at Arizona State University lists the following:

The Board of Directors for The Center on Education Reform, listed as: William J Hume; G. Carl Ball; William J Bennett; John Chubb (Brooking Institute pushing Choice); Denis P. Doyle (on Design Team with Bennett); Pete du Pont (Hudson Institute); Chester E. Finn, Jr. (on the Modern Red Schoolhouse Design Team and the Edison Project and others). The Arizona Republic, our local newspaper noted:

On Wednesday, July 20, 1994, the Republican Candidate for State Superintendent of Public Instruction for Arizona, Lisa Graham, attended a fund raising event for her in Washington, D. C. at the home of Grover G. Norquist. She is being touted as the author of the “landmark Arizona Charter School Choice Plan” and Charter School Legislation. The following persons along with others are listed on the invitation:

Jeanne Allen; Congressman Dick Armey; Governor Pete du Pont; Jeff Flake (with the Goldwater Institute in Arizona, (now U. S. Senator from Arizona) working with the Morrison Institute to implement the plan). Sidney Hoff-Hay (with the Lincoln Caucus); Senator John McCain; Michael Sanera (Arizona Institute for Public Policy Research who hosted the Edison Project last year in Arizona—this institute and the Goldwater Institute are listed as Heritage Institute think-tanks. The Heritage Institute is established in 34 states, and Governor J. Fife Symington III. (Ed note: Lisa-Graham- now Keegan is closely associated with Charter Schools in Arizona and runs a company to train applicants. All living former State Superintendents of Public Instruction in Arizona are listed as now associated with charter schools. Their names may be checked on the web).

Several members involved in restructuring education are members of the elite and secret Council for National Policy. This council does not make its membership list available to the public. It was formed (so they say) to counter the left Council on Foreign Relations, but some of the members belong to the CFR. This CNP’s membership includes the leadership of almost all conservative and Christian leadership groups. What is the motive?

Could it be money? In an article written by David R. Sands, The Washington Times, April 12, 1988, titled “Powerful players get global bank off the ground.” Sands states:

“Organizers will soon be announcing the final details for the long-delayed ambitious international finance bank with headquarters in the District of Columbia….Credit International, which will offer exclusive upscale private banking services and U. S. real estate financing for foreign investors in addition to its trade financing operations, …Credit International and its holding company, Credit International Banc Shares Ltd., feature a high-powered group of organizing directors, headed by bank Chairman, Richard V. Allen, former national security advisor for President Reagan….Other board members include Dr. Edwin Feulner, president and chief executive of the Heritage Foundation….”

The Heritage Foundation has been promoting along with Willard W. Garvey (The Center for Privatization in Wichita, Kansas) privatizing government holdings. In a letter to President Ronald Reagan, April 6, 1984, Garvey states:

“Privatization is now ‘an idea whose time has come’. The knowledge, communication, and computer industry can make political representatives obsolete”. (Emphasis added).

Has it? The Heritage Foundation created the “Town-Hall-The Conservative Meeting Place” which has “Instant 24 Hour Communication and Interaction for Conservative Groups”, and it works with such groups as: “The Free Congress Foundation’s National Empowerment Television project; The Leadership Institute; Citizens Against Government Waste; Family Research Council; The State Policy Network of state-based think tanks; Intercollegiate Studies Institute and more”. (Heritage Publications 1993/1994, p. 12).

Former Secretary of Education named a study group to evaluate national student assessments. Some of those named include: Lamar Alexander; Hillary Rodham Clinton; Linda Darling-Hammond; John C. Este, Jr. (president, National Association of Independent Schools) which was involved with forming Ted Sizer’s Coalition of Essential Schools – Sizer’s group was named Project: Relearning and has been approved by the Governors and The Education Commission of the States for restructuring. His Atlas Communities is also one of NASDC’s Design Teams; Bill Honig (former state superintendent of public instruction, Calf.) (Education Daily, May 15, 1986, p. 2).

William Bennett also funded Mastery Learning projects while he was Secretary of USDOE. (Transforming American Education: Reducing the Risk To The Nation, A Report to the Secretary of Education United States Dept. of Education, The National Task Force on Educational Technology, April, 1986). (See my article “Our Children: The Drones” for further information on Mastery Learning; posted on NewsWithViews).

In the same Education Daily edition listed above, it states:

“Bennett includes ‘Character’ projects in diffusion network priorities.” (Ed. Note: Mastery Learning is based on behavioral psychology and both ML and Character educations programs raised an outrage from parents and many teachers, so the name was changed to Outcome Based Education to try and fool the public).

The National Diffusion Network was established to promote government programs into the schools across America. The decline of public education can be traced directly to these programs. At no time, has any organization or group promoting Goals 2000 ever discussed the destructive behavior modification and inferior programs that have been used on teachers and students for more than three decades. I accuse the federal government, left and right wing foundations, and groups of deliberately trying to destroy public education in the United States. (Were these destructive programs deliberately created to help destroy public education so the profit motive” privateers” could take over and implement the global economy?)

I accuse these same groups and persons of developing mind-bending destructive Sex Education, Character Education, Self-esteem, and Skinnerian Behavior Modification programs to destroy the culture and youth of our county. Why has this been done? So they may control and develop the “human resources” (the workers and the clones) to carry out their deceptive plan of total control not only of human resources but all resources in the world.

These movers and shapers are outside the mainstream of American culture and political thought in this country, and most others where this one-world system is being implemented. Are some of the persons involved innocent victims of NTL change agents? Are some political and power hungry opportunists? Are some money hungry parasites that live off federal and foundation grants? Whatever the reason, this plan must be stopped immediately by the people. (The Common Core Standards is the final nail in the coffin. Obama’s Race To The Top was started decades ago).

Every person has been given free-will to choose right from wrong. We are at the point in history where we must choose, and we must take a stand against this totalitarian plan which will lead not only the United States of America but other citizens of the world into slavery. (Ed. Note: The behavioral psychologist does not believe in free-will. They look upon mankind as a machine to be shaped and molded into whatever they desire. Children are now called “human capitol” and “human resources” to be trained in our schools for the planned global economy using behavioral psychology).

Citizens must know the enemy, and the enemy is coming from both the right and left political and economic groups. The radical right and the radical left have met in mid-center. (Ed. Note: The following names are from my old article and list, but some remain and some have changed – the objectives remain the same).

Chester Finn, Jr., obtained a federal grant to establish the Educational Excellence Network. In a recent publication by the Hudson Institute, it lists the membership in “A report by the Educational Excellence Network and its Education Policy Committee.” The Education Policy Committee members are:

“Chester Finn, Jr., Diane Ravitch, Co-Chairs; Joseph Adelson, Professor of Psychology, University of Michigan; Lamar Alexander, Former U. S. Secretary of Education, Senior Fellow, Hudson Institute; Jeanne Allen, President, Center for Education Reform, Leslye Arsht, President, Goals 2000 Coalition; Stephen H. Balch, President and Executive Director, National Association of Scholars. (Ed. Note: Diane Ravitch has since pulled out of the group and is working against the group on her blog and in her book, The Death and Life of the Great AMERICAN School System, c 2010. Many concerned educators and citizens are now found on the computer working in opposition to this plan). Back to the list.

Jim Benchivenga, President, Hull Council for Business and Cultural Development; William J Bennett, Former U. S. Secretary of Education; Co-Director of Empower America; Clint Bolick, Vice President and Director of Litigation, Institute of Justice; Samuel Brunelli, Executive Director, American Legislative Exchange Council; Linda Chavez, John M. Olin Fellow, Center for the New American Community, Manhattan Institute; Saul Copperman, President, Ready Foundation (formerly with the Business Round-Table-ed).

Ramon Cortines, Chancellor, New York City Public Schools; Edwin Delattre, Dean of the School of Education, Boston, University; John Fund, Editorial Page Writer, The Wall Street Journal; Nathan Glazer, Professor Education and Sociology Emeritus, Harvard University; Stephen Goldsmith, Mayor, Indianapolis, Indiana; Joan Grady, Senior Program Director, Mid-Continent Regional Educational Laboratory (Federal Lab. – ed). Bill Honig, Professor, School of Education, San Francisco State University ; Wade F. Horn, Director Chairman of the Board, Basic America, Inc.; David Kearns, Chairman, New American Schools Development Corporation (See Education for All above).

Patrick J. Delcher, Jr. President, TEACH America; Leo Klagholz, Commissioner, New Jersey State Department of Education; Bryon S. Lamm, Executive Director, State Policy Network; Rick C. Lavis, former Co-Chairman, Arizona Business Leaders for Education (ABLE see above). Ron Melnick, Director, Morrison Institute for Public Policy, Arizona, (Morrison Institute on NASDC’s Design Team); William Moloney, Supt., Calvery Co., Public Schools, Maryland; John Murphy, Supt., Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, North Carolina.

Grover Norquist, President, America for Tax Reform (see fund raising event for Lisa Graham, Arizona, above.) ;Joseph Murphy, Dept. and Chair of Education, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN; Paul H. O’Neill, Chairman and CEO, Aluminum Co. of America; Lawrence C. Patrick, Jr., Member of the Detroit Board of Education: Partner, Jaffe, Raitt, Heuer and Weisll; Mitchell B. Pearlstein, President, Center of the American Experiment; Elizabeth Rohatyn, Vice President, Felix and Elizabeth Rohatyn Foundation; Ted Sanders, Supt. Of Public Instruction, state of Ohio; Bret Schundler, Mayor, Jersey City, NJ; Donald M Stewart, President, The College Board; Abigail Thernstrom, Adjunct Professor, School of Education, Boston, University; Herbert J. Walberg, Research Professor of Education, University at Chicago; Robert L.Woodson, President, National Center for Neighborhood Enterprise.

Three persons did not concur with the substance of this report: Leslye Arsht, Donald M. Stewart and Bill Honig. (Emphasis added – ed).

In the Teachers’ Guide, Feb., 1993 for Whittle Educational Network News and Programming, i. e. Channel I (Connected with Edison Project) – listed for Friday, Feb. 26 “The Educators’ Channel” titled And Learning For All: National Town Meeting of Education, (Program source: Pacific Mountain Network, with underwriting provided by the U. S. Department of Education’s Office of Educational Research and Improvement, and by United Airlines, p. 15).

In their Teachers’ Guide, Dec. 1992, p. 7, they list as “Partners in the “….And Learning for All” project include Pacific Mountain Regional Educational Laboratory, Western Cooperative for Educational Telecommunications, PBS station KRMA-TV, Mind Extension University, Colorado 2000 Communities, and the National School Public Relations Association.”

While good parents and American citizens are stripped of their salaries with high government taxation, and plead with their representatives and school officials not to implement Outcome Based Education (which is the systematic control system being used to change everything in our country), the federal government promotes its destructive plan through private groups like Whittle and others. The American people are being asked to pay for their own destruction and it is coming from the now radical center of both major political parties.  Part 1

During her teaching career, Ann taught all grade levels, (K-College in reading) as well as all ability level students including gifted, and non-English speaking. In 1982, she was the Republican candidate for State Superintendent of Public Instruction for Arizona; ran again in 1986, the primary purpose was to expose the experimental programs being used on teachers and children, especially ECRI (Exemplary Center for Reading Instruction) and others. She pushed for a Congressional investigation on ECRI and other programs, but it never happened. People contacted her regarding ECRI and the harmful effects on children who were having difficult problems due to the stress from ECRI. All of this went to Congress and the DOE. The DOE lied about the method and denied that children were timed with stopwatches even after Ann sent them documented pod materials from their manuals. A large effort has been made to cover up ECRI and other similar programs destroying our children.

Ann’s education research articles have been published in the Wisconsin Report, Charlotte Iserbyt’s books; The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America, and Back to Basics Reform, the Barbara Morris Report, and countless newspapers and magazines. She also contributed data to Rev. James Patrick’s “Research Manual, America 2000/Goals 2000 – Moving the Nation Educationally to a ‘New World Order’.”

At the request of concerned parents, Ann spoke in several states against America and Goals 2000 and helped organize the Southwestern USA to work against the Soviet/Carnegie/American agreement… through the “National Citizen’s Alliance.” She is a member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution with eight proven Revolutionary Patriots, one of whom served at Valley Forge with Gen. Geo. Washington. Ann continues to do research exposing the destruction of our once excellent academic education.

Liar, Liar, Pants On Fire!

Common CoreNow the time has come for the supporters of the “Common Core Boondoggle” to do all kinds of “reports” to justify to the American people why the Common Core is not as bad as the “other side” might think and that WE are all wearing TIN HATS.

Interesting though it is, they are never smart enough to go and get “independent thinking” individuals or groups to do these studies or reports, just the same ole “sleeping with Bill Gates and Jeb Bush Gang” who for some reason have lost the total ability to think for themselves.

Recently, the Thomas Fordham Institute who by the way are entirely on board with the Common Core Standards (CCS), completed a new study with a conclusion the Standards are good and that the state’s and local districts have total control over how much the implementation of the Standards will cost them depending on how much they choose to spend on technology and what route they take in training the teachers. The State and Local “powers to be” have control of the $$ so they should be thinking of ways to do it cheaper! Hum!

This conclusion issued by The Fordham Institute offers three different price tags for the cost of training teachers and purchasing classroom materials and computers needed for the new standards.

In May 2012, a panel of Bill Gates/Jeb Bush cronies gathered with one from the “other” side for a panel discussion referred to as: “Pricing the Common Core: How Much Will Smart Implementation Cost States and Districts?”

This panel consisting of some of the top who’s who men garnered to make a considerable sum from this Common Core venture were – Eric Smith, former Florida Commissioner of Education and LONG time Jeb Bush “Chief for Change” and the Master of implementing Communist International Baccalaureate programs in schools where ever he has worked; Michael Cohen. President of Achieve and long-time associate of Bill Gates who has worked with him since the formation of Achieve to formulate Marc Tucker’s plan of the ruination of the education system in America; Chester Finn, President of The Fordham Institute of which is always on the wrong side of education and Professor Patrick J. Murphy, Chair of the Dept. of Politics at the Univ. of San Francisco.

The first 3 men on the panel make sense to me but why a Professor of Politics? There was a fifth gentleman, Ze’ev Wurman, who was a former Policy Advisor at the U.S. Dept. of Education and in 2010 Wurman served on the California Academic Content Standards Commission that evaluated the suitability of Common Core’s standards for California, and is coauthor with Sandra Stotsky of “Common Core’s Standards Still Don’t Make the Grade” (Pioneer Institute, 2010). He is against the CCS.

I will remind the readers or inform them if they do not know who Sandra Stotsky, is – she is a professor at the Univ. of Arkansas with so many high education accolades behind her I don’t have the room to put them all here. What is important is that she sat on the Common Core Math Standards validation committee and at the end REFUSED to sign off on them stating ““Common Core’s standards not only present a serious threat to state and local education authority, but also put academic quality at risk. By pushing fatally flawed education standards into America’s schools is not the way to improve education for America’s students.”

Authors of the Fordham report suggest three ways states and districts could chose to implement the Common Core:
“Business as Usual” — Schools would buy hard-copy textbooks, administer student exams on paper and pay for in-person professional development for teachers. Nationally, states could spend as much as $12 billion implementing the Common Core in this way, the report predicts.

“Bare Bones” — Schools would use open-source materials, administer assessments on computers and limit professional development to webinars and modules. States would spend a little less than $3 billion to implement the Common Core if they go the bare bones route,

“Balanced Implementation” — Schools would pick between the methods, combining a mix of online and hard-copy teaching materials, both interim and summative assessments and a hybrid professional development system. That would cost about $5 billion.

It’s worth noting that legislators in various states of the 45 who signed onto this “boondoggle” have for the most part refused to allow those opposing the Standards to present their findings. If what they say were true – wanting to do what is best for our children’s education” – they would surely want to know the pros and cons. But no, they instead choose to follow the INSTRUCTIONS being given by “someone” to play the Common Core game.

CCS I Am HereGoing by the previous actions of our elected “officials” I would say it is the people who are holding the “purse strings” to their election coffers making these decisions. Case in point – one senator in Florida when having certain things pointed out to him in his “Data Tracking” bill stated, “That wasn’t what I intended at all.” So what was your intention Senator? Why did you refuse to pull back your bill and just exactly who wrote it if it was “different” than your intention?

One Florida legislator stated as he was showing the picture of his grandchildren, that he only had the “best interest of children” at heart in regard to legislation he supported in favor of Common Core. Really?

Florida’s Governor Scott to show his authority and “change of heart in “supporting” the Common Core Standards and Commissioner of Education (Indiana’s throw away), Jeb Bush Chief for Change Tony Bennett held a gathering in Tallahassee last week and assured approximately 50 county school superintendents they would help them in every way to “allay” parental fears about the “Common Core.”

Florida former Leon County school superintendent and now Senator Bill Montford stated, “You are the experts and when you speak with your legislators, it does have a powerful, powerful impact.” Martin County superintendent stated she thought the CCS were a “good thing.”

I want them all tested on the Common Core Standards – every last one of these anti-American legislators and county school superintendents who are not willing to fight for our children to see just what they really know about the Common Core! My money says they would all fail and fail big time! Especially when it is apparent they have not read any of it!

Added to the mix taxpayers, in listening to Senator Montford’s statement what does that make us? We also pay the bills and yet they refuse to listen to us when we present facts that have been researched by people who are certainly smarter and more educated than the legislators or the county school superintendents. I would remind all of them – legislators and county superintendents, their staff and all those who work in education that the rest of the taxpayers pay your salary and should as your “bosses” be given at least “equal” time in presenting our side with full press coverage.

There is a very strange game being played here in that the Teacher’s unions are NOT supporting the CCS and in fact the unions are suing the State of Florida over that very thing. So now are we at the point that our teachers and superintendents are a little “two-faced?”

Parents and Teachers – if you believe a thing that is coming out of the mouth of Tony Bennett you are going to deserve exactly what you are going to get – dumbed down government controlled children through their education and increased property taxes you are not going to be able to pay!

Not only that but the loss of your jobs! Part of the “goal” here is to have “un-elected school boards (only government control) (read Marc Tucker’s letter) and teacher’s loss of jobs because classes are going to get larger since the Federal government is now in a position to pull the purses strings. Since our children are being seen as “Human Capital” they are focusing on their use being better spent in factories rather than in schools! Something like Russia and Cuba’s education systems!

Watch for legislation popping up in your state giving your local school districts the ability to implement those “five year legislative deals” where they can add sur-taxes onto your property taxes. States do not have the money for this, so now Obama is also coming up with more “games” in the name of “grants” to SNARE our states into participating against parental opposition.

Support Senator Grassley in demanding the Federal Education Appropriations Committee REFUSE to fund the Common Core Standards with any more Federal $$$ of which are of course YOUR $$$. Call Senator Coats (IN) to ask him to support defunding Common Core.

Looks like we all mis-judged Governor Scott when he ran for office because he has done more for foreigners in regard to business/jobs than he has for the taxpayers. His value of our children’s educational future showed its true colors when he took that $30M from the Communist Chinese to invest in the Charter school system with another promised $60M to come.

If you are interested in hearing the “other side” from the Fordham Institute report I suggest you read the one done by the Pioneer Institute of which they have done several in regard to the CCS.

cc Hog WashI also highly recommend you read the “Hog Wash Alert” by Christel Swasey written by a mom who has certainly done her homework.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind you the purpose is clear – to bring education under the watchful eyes of legislators and businessmen and giving over your “parental control” of your children to the Federal Government.

The goal is for the Progressives to be able to implement their “Communist “dumbing down” of our children into a lie they want them to be college and global ready. In fact by giving them this tripe to learn by, they will fulfill the plan of the Communist Agenda i.e., Manifesto of the “school-to-work” program used by all Communist countries. It is through a generation of indoctrinating our children they will accomplish this without most Americans even knowing what has happened.

Still not convinced?

“Your children’s children will live under COMMUNISM. You AMERICANS are so gullible. No, you won’t accept COMMUNISM outright, but we’ll keep feeding you small doses of SOCIALISM until you will finally wake up & find that you already have COMMUNISM. We won’t ever have to fight you; we’ll weaken your economy until you fall like overripe fruit into our hands.” Nikita Khrushchev 1959

“Education should aim at destroying free will so that after pupils are thus schooled they will be incapable throughout the rest of their lives of thinking or acting otherwise than as their school masters would have wished … The social psychologist of the future will have a number of classes of school children on whom they will try different methods of producing an unshakable conviction that snow is black. When the technique has been perfected, every government that has been in charge of education for more than one generation will be able to control its subjects securely without the need of armies or policemen.” – Johann Gottlieb Fichte

PARENTS suit up – this is the fight of your lives for the futures of your children!

Carnegie, Gates and Murdoch – Strange Bedfellows?

GatesEntrepreneurs are rubbing their hands together and imagining the profits as they begin to roll out expensive tools for K-12 education at this week’s South by Southwest (SXSW) conference.

An education technology conference this week in Austin, Texas, will clang with bells and whistles as startups eagerly show off their latest wares.

But the most influential new product may be the least flashy: a $100 million database built to chart the academic paths of public school students from kindergarten through high school.

In operation just three months, the database already holds files on millions of children identified by name, address and sometimes social security number. Learning disabilities are documented, test scores recorded, attendance noted. In some cases, the database tracks student hobbies, career goals, attitudes toward school – even homework completion.

Local education officials retain legal control over their students’ information. But federal law allows them to share files in their portion of the database with private companies selling educational products and services. (Parents have no say in this – your parental rights are gone).

Entrepreneurs can’t wait.

“This is going to be a huge win for us,” said Jeffrey Olen, a product manager at CompassLearning, which sells education software.

Yeah, maybe. Parents are pretty creeped out over the idea of tracking their kids’ school performance over their K-12 educational careers. I have some ambivalence about the whole idea, but it’s a non-starter for me when I see how they’ve structured it, and particularly knowing Rupert Murdoch is involved.

CarneigieThe database is a joint project of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which provided most of the funding, the Carnegie Corporation of New York and school officials from several states. Amplify Education, a division of Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp, built the infrastructure over the past 18 months. When it was ready, the Gates Foundation turned the database over to a newly created nonprofit, inBloom Inc, which will run it.Murdoch

States and school districts can choose whether they want to input their student records into the system; the service is free for now, though inBloom officials say they will likely start to charge fees in 2015. So far, seven states – Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Massachusetts – have committed to enter data from select school districts. Louisiana and New York will be entering nearly all student records statewide.
Klein and Murdoch
Former New York Public Schools chancellor Joel Klein signaled the onslaught last December:

Asserting that the K-12 education market is “ripe for disruption,” Joel Klein, former New York City schools chancellor, now executive VP at News Corp. and director of Murdoch’s Amplify, its education unit, offered a presentation of Amplify’s business model and plans to release hardware and software solutions optimized for a new generation of digitally savvy students and teachers. Klein outlined plans to release an open source tablet device, and specialized teaching software tied to it and to Common Core standards and data analytics, all in an effort to transform the basic model of American education.

What protections will there be for student privacy? And who’s going to pay for this? Taxpayers, of course. As the budget for data mining grows and Murdoch’s pockets bulge, will there be any money left for teachers?

(Klein also serves on Jeb Bush’s Foundation for Excellence in Education and several other board’s overseeing the Charter school and school choice agenda.)

Florida Children Collateral For Greed!

Not sure how to start this one as I am so angry. Some of us have realized the corruption and cronyism in Tallahassee, but we are just beginning to see how deep, cold and calculated it is! Using our children as Collateral in their schemes for “For-Profit” by continued enlargement of the co-ops between our education system, schools and businesses of all kinds with absolutely no input allowed by the local school districts or parents is unacceptable.

This is “taxation without representation.”

This Florida is the forefront of the Communist “school-to-work program of which the Charter schools promoters are pushing and now they have found a way to force it upon the local public schools with the blessings of our state legislators..

Today Don Gaetz, President of the Florida Senate (Jeb Bush lackey who serves on Bush’s Foundation for Excellence in Education) made the announcement along with John Legg, Senate Education Committee Chairman, (Jeb Bush lackey who also serve’s on Bush’s Foundation, writes and votes on Charter school legislation, owns a Charter school and works there) that they had today discussed the background and importance of legislation that will expand the current Career and Professional Education Act (CAPE) with a group of more than 30 representatives from Florida’s major businesses and business associations.

During the meeting, Senator Gaetz outlined the creation and implementation of the CAPE Act, which was passed by the Florida Legislature in 2007, creating the first industry certification program in the nation for high school students. In addition, the group discussed current and future partnerships among businesses, industry, educators and policy makers, highlighting the importance of providing graduates with industry-relevant skills and certifications and delineating legislative steps moving forward.

Can someone please tell me what this has to do with getting an education curriculum that will get our kids graduated from high school? How many games do they intend to play with our kids? It is like they are in the middle of a whirlwind with all the trash they are throwing their way spinning out of control Or maybe now we are going to change the graduation goals and incentives!

I do wonder if the alliances they are making are better than the Burger Kings, McDonalds, cleaners, Domino’s and other food entities that they put in place for the Workplace Charter School Academy. Out of 44 business giving jobs to their 11th and 12th graders, 9 of the businesses are in an office or some type of business they might want to do for the rest of their lives.

Let’s face it – most businesses – heavy duty businesses do not want 16, 17 and 18 year old teenagers running around their businesses every day.

Do you see who is taking over the education of your children? Is there anyone talking to you about all this? I have to be honest some of us thought the CAPE ACT was buried because they have so many other things going on. We were wrong!

I want to also remind you that the Parent Trigger bill has also been re-introduced by Senator Kelli Stargel (R-15). I do not like playing the politics card but they are leaving me so choice. The Republicans in Florida are doing this – the Democrats for the most part are not happy about this legislation that is being passed. They keep giving this legislation “touchy-feely” names so that parents believe they have the best interests of their children at heart. Not so! Far too many games being played. Did anyone read the reports from www.inthepublicinterest.org regarding what has been going on between our state legislators and the Florida Dept. of Education.

This is what happens when one party has control over the other rather than being more balanced for such a long period of time. It is time the parents in this state form a coalition to take control of our children. If other states can do it so can we. Not everyone is playing the Common Core Standards game. There are a a lot of things going on here that has not come out of D.C. They cannot be blamed for everything. I put it squarely at the feet of Jeb Bush and all his cronies who believe the sun rises and sets on him no matter what it is.

Parent Trigger & the Money Changers!

Parent Trigger 3What is a Parent Trigger law? The proposals have varied from state to state, but they generally allow parents at any failing school, defined by standardized testing, to sign a petition to radically transform the school using any of four “triggers.” Parents can petition to: 1) fire the principal, 2) fire half of the teachers, 3) close the school and let parents find another option, or 4) convert the school into a charter school.

While the details of how the school can be “restructured” also vary from state to state, the charter school option is always present and actually the main focus. Charter schools are privately managed, taxpayer-funded public schools which are granted greater autonomy from regulations applicable to other public schools, ostensibly in exchange for greater accountability for results, but they have been criticized for uneven and mediocre track records.

Add to this the involvement of businesses in the Charter school “business” which in fact makes Charter schools not only “for-profit”, but also “public-private partnerships” .

Realizing the “goal” of the Charter school system is the “unelected” school boards of each Charter school. The “goal” and “agenda” is to do away with elected school boards. Think about that! With each Charter school having unelected boards and yet using tax payer $$ to fund the schools, that is “taxation without representation”.

“The Money Changers” – ALEC, Heartland Institute, Bill Gates Foundation, Jeb Bush Foundation x2, Michelle Rhee – Student’s First, Parents Across America, Pearson Publishing, Pearson Foundation, Koch Bros., K-12, Bridgeport Education, Rupert Murdock, Philip Anschultz, right-wing extremist , Eli Broad Foundation, Rockefeller Foundation, Parent Revolution Board chair Rica Orszag and original member of Bill Clinton’s “Global Initiative and so many more I don’t have enough room?

How do you go against this kind of financial control?

I have asked this question time and time again with no answer – “If all of you money mouthpieces think you have the answer to the woes of our education system, why are you not giving all that money to the public school systems to raise teacher salaries, repair schools, buy uniforms and musical instruments, putting more into scholarships rather than creating another division within our country to make a profit and in the process USE OUR CHILDREN AS BAIT?” Why are you not including educators when creating curriculum’s or rules and laws?

What they will not tell you or admit to is that Charter schools along with the “Parent Trigger” legislation is a communist “school – to – work” agenda. This offense against our children was first introduced in The Carnegie Institute Report on Social Studies in 1934. http://www.scribd.com/doc/32432452/Carnegie-Endowment-AHA-Report-on-the-Commission-on-Social-Studies

This study was funded to the tune of $340,000 by the Carnegie Corporation and at a 1934 currency rate exchange that was a great deal of money! Professor Harold Laski, the philosopher of British socialism, said of this report: “At bottom, and stripped of its carefully neutral phrases, the Report is an educational program for a Socialist America.” An important and revealing excerpt from Conclusions and Recommendations follows:

The Commission was also driven to this broader conception of its task by the obvious fact that American civilization, in common with Western civilization, is passing through one of the great critical ages of history, is modifying its traditional faith in economic individualism [free enterprise], and is embarking upon vast experiments in social planning and control which call for large-scale cooperation on the part of the people…. (pp.1–2)

…Cumulative evidence supports the conclusion that in the United States and in other countries the age of “laissez faire” in economy and government is closing and that a new age of collectivism is emerging. www.deliberatedumbingdown.com

Back to the “Money Changers” – The recent movie “Won’t Back Down” was meant to push ALEC’s “Parent Trigger Proposal”. For those of you who might not know what “ALEC” is – it is a group of major American corporations and right-wing legislators who craft and vote on “model” bills behind closed doors. These bills include extreme gun laws, like Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law implicated in the Trayvon Martin shooting, union-busting legislation, Arizona style anti-immigrant legislation, maybe your states Energy bill or sustainable development legislation and voter suppression laws that have sparked lawsuits across the nation.

They are kind of like the “hump” on the back of the Hunchback of Notre Dame! Or maybe something as simple as Lucifer’s Shadow! That’s how I think of people using our children for financial and communistic gains.

There are millions of dollars out there sponsoring ALEC by corporate funds being funneled through ALEC to “buy” votes. I was extremely happy to see Wal-Mart, Coca-Cola, Kraft, General Mills, Mereck and Duke Energy among approximately 30 other sponsors withdraw their support of ALEC over what they called “the organizations extreme agenda”. ALEC’s support of the movie “Won’t Back Down” was the final straw that broke the camel’s back.

Don’t get too excited though because this tells you these corporations are leaning very far to the left.

In addition, Heartland Institute recently suffered an exodus of corporate sponsors after it launched a billboard comparing those who believe in the science behind global warming to the Unabomber, Ted Kaczynski.

You can see how things are splitting even in the corporate world. The left leaning corporations are against School Choice, Charter schools and Vouchers not because they are bringing in a communist agenda and curriculums but because the Teachers Unions are against it.

Somehow the far right has gotten on this bandwagon of knowing what is good for our children and will “NEVER” admit they are pushing a Communist agenda and supporting the New World Order. But NEVER FORGET the left is also working on the New World Order – they just have different ideas on how to achieve it.

I am trying to help you understand you cannot trust either party in today’s world.

Example: Marc Tucker is the President and CFO of the NATIONAL CENTER ON EDUCATION AND THE ECONOMY. A socialist deeply in bed with the Clinton’s, Bill Gates, Rockefeller’s and other Progressive Socialists, wrote his famous letter to Hillary 7 days after Bill’s election in 1992 – http://www.eagleforum.org/educate/marc_tucker/

Tucker’s ambitious plan was implemented in three laws passed by Congress and signed by President Clinton in 1994: the Goals 2000 Act, the School-to-Work Act, and the reauthorized Elementary and Secondary Education Act. These laws establish the following mechanisms to restructure the public schools:

1. Bypass all elected officials on school boards and in state legislatures by making federal funds flow to the Governor and his appointees on workforce development boards.
2. Use a computer database, a.k.a. “a labor market information system,” into which school personnel would scan all information about every schoolchild and his family, identified by the child’s social security number: academic, medical, mental, psychological, behavioral, and interrogations by counselors. The computerized data would be available to the school, the government, and future employers.
3. Use “national standards” and “national testing” to cement national control of tests, assessments, school honors and rewards, financial aid, and the Certificate of Initial Mastery (CIM), which is designed to replace the high school diploma.

Designed on the German system, the Tucker plan is to train children in specific jobs to serve the workforce and the global economy instead of to educate them so they can make their own life choices – “school-to-work”!

AND – School Choice, Vouchers, Charter Schools, Parent Trigger Bill, Parental Rights – all those names mean the same thing they are just loaded with other words meant to confuse you and they do!

This whole process of “dumbing down our children” has been a long, slow process with a firm foothold beginning in the early 1900’s. COMMUNISM is very patient – they know how to play the game!

It is the responsibility of the individual states and their parents – not Unions either but parents!

Who do you trust? Not a politician!

Communist $$ Funding FL Charter Schools

CurrencyYou all know I have been working against the Communist agenda in regard to Florida’s education of our children for some time. This past October Miami Today published the article breaking the news to Floridians that through an organization in Orlando called Enterprise Florida, Inc., of which Governor Scott is the Chairman, we had entered into a commercial deal with Communist China.

Enterprise Florida, Inc. is a “public-private partnership” serving as Florida’s primary organization devoted to statewide economic development (their website). This is to include our Charter schools apparently. Communist China has along with investing in other enterprises in Florida spent $30M to be put into Florida’s Charter School system with the promise of another forth coming $60M.

Through the “enterprising” methods of Enterprise Florida, Inc., Communist Chinese investors are taking advantage of the EB-5 investment visa program – the so-called “green card via red carpet,” by putting millions into Florida’s charter schools and an aquaculture farm in Central Florida.

Under the EB-5 program, through investments of at least $1 million — or $500,000 for “targeted employment areas” — foreign nationals are able to obtain legal permanent residency in the US so long as the money they invest will help secure or create at least 10 full-time jobs. This Federal law is now a permanent law as of 2012, which allows the investor to bring their whole family to include anyone under the age of 21. To the best of my understanding this also applies to any of their 21 and under children who might be married and have a family.

So we ask the question “Why are the Communist Chinese interested in investing in our Charter schools?” My guess is that it is NOT to teach our children Mandarin Chinese.

Remember, according to the Florida State Constitution Charter schools are “public” schools and as such funded by public taxpayer money. This “business deal” only goes to give more proof that the Charter school system is being used to promote “public-private partnerships” in a Federal “school to work” agenda.

Ladies and gentlemen that is not only Communism but it is taxation without representation as the Florida legislature is giving supporting funds to Enterprise Florida, Inc.

Enterprise Florida has stated they cannot reveal who invested the money specifically by name or where it is going or how it will be used because of a confidential agreement.

Freedom of Information requests were sent out in October, 2012 requesting information under the Florida Sunshine laws for further information regarding this transaction and all state offices where information was requested have refused to comply and this is to include Pam Bondi’s office.

Adding a little sweetener to this story, in addition to the Governor of Florida being the Chairman of Enterprise Florida, Inc., we have discovered the President & CEO of this company is Gray Swoope who is also Florida’s Secretary of Commerce. More sweetener is the numerous ELECTED Representatives and Senators from the Florida Legislature who are also serving on this board.

No wonder we cannot get any action or reaction regarding the cronyism in Tallahassee by legislators and the Charter schools – not to mention all the companies which have been formed around the Charter school propaganda. It reaches the top. Mr. Swoope brags that having an office “two doors down” from the governor is definitely an advantage in carrying out their work in regard to Enterprise Florida.

Is the governor and Mr. Swoope charging out their time when they are working for Florida as a state or for Enterprise Florida as a “for profit company”? The heavy hitter investors in Enterprise Florida is quite impressive – http://www.eflorida.com/ContentSubpage.aspx?id=4374

To add to this the Gov and other legislators have made several overseas trips in the last year to Columbia and Spain to name 2 looking for foreign investors into current companies in Florida or to create new ones. The governor’s idea is in bringing jobs to Florida so he can be named the top “job maker” in the country – but at what cost? Who is paying for these trips? Enterprise Florida does have some huge funder’s! Is this twisting and turning of elected officials and funding corporations creating a “I’ll take care of you if you take care of me” attitude?

They are using our money to fund this company along with other large business’ but what are they offering these foreign entities in the form of incentives and the golden permanent “green card” status? They also are not stating exactly what the incentives they offer are.

Florida House Speaker Representative Will Weatherford stated this past December, 2012 that the money the Legislature invests in Enterprise Florida, Inc. should have a better accountability and he will form a Committee that will focus on Enterprise Florida’s performance. I guess I am not the only one concerned and I wonder if Mr. Weatherford has done that.

Other Florida notables serving on the Board of Enterprise Florida, Inc., are:
Jeff Atwater, Pam Bondi, Chris Dorworth, FL Rep from Lk. Mary, Nancy Detert, FL Senate, Adam Putnam and the former Commissioner of Education and Chiefs for Change boy Gerard Robinson. I would guess Tony Bennett will replace Robinson on the board! And just why exactly is the Commissioner of Education serving on this board other than their support (Robinson/Bennett) of the Charter schools and the school choice “for profit”, “public-private partnerships” between Charter schools and businesses?

Oh me Oh my what can the matter be?

Don't Be Charter Fooled 2

So You Think Florida Has Improved?

Education20Today if you are registered with the Florida Tracker system to follow your legislators you would have received the following:

Senator John Legg, District 17 — Press Release
Florida up to #6 in Education nationally – Senator Legg, Chairman of the Florida Senate Committee on K-20 Education Policy today released the following statement regarding Florida jumping five spots, from number eleven to number six in Education Week’s 2013 Quality Counts report.
“In the past few years Florida’s education system has faced the strain of economic downturn but done everything possible to maintain high-quality education for our students,” said Senator Legg. “Today’s release of Education Week’s 2013 Quality Counts report demonstrates that Florida is meeting the challenge head-on and working diligently as we move into full implementation of the Common Core State Standards which are designed to prepare all students to be globally competitive for college and careers.”
At one time ranked near the bottom of states across the country, Florida began making significant progress moving to 14 in 2009, 8 in 2010, and 5 in 2011. After falling to 11 in 2012, in 2013 Florida increased five spots and is now sixth in the nation. http://www.flsenate.gov/Media/PressRelease/Show/1355
Not to mention again the fact the Senator (newly elected) Legg also owns a Charter Public School along with his wife would seem slighting of Mr. Legg. His wife serves as the Administrator and he as the Business Manager. No one can deny his school isn’t doing well and having a teacher to student ratio of 13:1 is certainly a big advantage.

I again question the ethics of this man owning a charter school, voting on Charter school legislation and also serving on Jeb Bush’s Foundation. It is a direct conflict of interest of the taxpayers of Florida.

Florida may have moved to the position of 6th in the country but we still received a B- average grade overall (81.1) and we got some pretty rotten scores in other areas. This certainly is not saying much for the level of the education in America. These legislators and non-educators continue to try and tweak the education system from a legislative point of view rather than from what and how they are teaching them. Never, ever forget the beginning of the real failure was No Child Left Behind (NCLB).

Receiving an A in Transitions & Alignment along with Standards, Assessments & Accountability was certainly not enough to pull up the overall score with the very poor D+ in School Finance Analysis and especially the very low grade in the amount spent per child and the overall C- in K-12 Achievement 2012 grade of C-.

This type of reporting by the Florida leaders in the legislature and the State Board of Education are a disgrace and quite frankly a lie in the overall state of Florida’s education.

Those in the legislature who serve also on Jeb Bush’s Foundations and are heavily involved in the state Charter school system along with other members of the State School Board includes the founder of KIPP schools Jax, Mr.Chartrand. They all may be disappointed they did not break out the success or failure in the Charter school scores. But then if they had, they might have had to include the failures and the reasons for those failures which have not been the best publicity a venture would ask for.

Grading Curve Used as follows: A (93-100), A- (90-92), B+ (87-89), B (83-86), B- (80-82), C+ (77-79), C (73-76), C- (70-72), D+ (67-69), D (63-66), D- (60-62), F (0-59)

In a survey given to Administrators and Teachers regarding what was important to them in the school environment these stood out for me:
School climate was more important than school safety –
School Climate – Administrators 83% Teachers 72%
School Safety – Administrators 61% Teachers 64% (I wonder what those figures would be today after Newtown
School Discipline – Administrators 46% Teachers 54%
Quality Counts
The other 2 really bad scores were “School Finance Analysis” D+ and placed 39th in the country – we received an F last year.

Disappointing also was our high school graduation rate shown to be 70.4% and the young adults enrolling in post-secondary education at 54.4%.
Florida also remains to be #5 state in the country for receiving funds returned from the Federal government for Education but they continue to fall below the National Average per student at a ranking of 36th in the nation. This writer believes the differential between the receipt of monies and spending continues to be because of the amount spent on administration. Anyone who has ever called Tallahassee for information knows how many “uninformed” employees you have to go through before even beginning to get an answer to a simple question.
2-13 Education Week Spending

Maybe it would behoove the state to look at the wasted funds being spent on the International Baccalaureate Program (IB) or start presenting reports with statistics to show we are getting something for our money. Every single senior in this state on the IB program should be on the National Honor Society and they are NOT. Very, very few are! How many graduate? How many go on to college? How many graduate from college?

It is the state’s responsibility to prove to the taxpayers that we are getting something for our $$. They have never even published statistics as to the rate of graduation of these students.

In addition, with the low rate of our young people attending college, it might be to all our benefits for the state to look at decreasing the number of professor’s or at the very least the extremely high salaries they are receiving.

Other remarks made –
– Mark Wilson, president and CEO of the Florida Chamber of Commerce: “Florida’s bold education reform efforts have clearly put our state on the right track. While Florida has made great strides, there is still work to be done. To compete in the global marketplace, we must recognize that, just as society changes, so does the workforce. Florida’s kids deserve better, and with America’s new Common Core Standards and the leadership of our new Education Commissioner Dr. Tony Bennett, we will secure Florida’s future with a globally competitive education system.”

His statement says a lot to me in that the “Chambers” all over the country are endorsing the “school to work” communist program along with Tony Bennett, our new Commissioner of Education and Jeb Bush’s “boy”.

– John Legg, Florida is meeting the challenge head-on and working diligently as we move into full implementation of the Common Core State Standards, which are designed to prepare all students to be globally competitive for college and careers.”

The fact our legislators are now coming out in support of the Common Core Standards when they have not a clue what it is or what it means to our children’s education is certainly disheartening. I hope they enjoy their current placement in the State Ratings as with Common Core – these kids are going to be lost as well as most of the teachers and all the scores will drop.

– Rick Scott, governor: “For Florida to be a global leader in job creation and economic growth, we have to provide our students with a quality education. Today’s news that Florida has moved into the top ten in the nation for overall quality of education reinforces that we’re taking the steps needed to ensure our students succeed. We’ve made education a priority by investing $1 billion in K-12 education.

For a man who said he was NOT in favor of Agenda 21 or anything that went with it, his speech’s now almost always include the word “global” and he was the instrument in bringing the Communist Chinese into Florida to invest in our Charter schools.

Governor Scott needs to answer to the parents/taxpayers of Florida why his office refuses to address the Freedom of Information request behind that Communist money! They certainly did not invest all that money with a promise of another $60M for our kids to learn Mandarin Chinese!

They can pat themselves on the back all they want, but they are still working behind the scenes in ruining our children.

Our Children Used As Communist Bait

"Come My Little Pretties"!

“Come My Little Pretties”!

More and more attention is being given to the horrors that are being perpetrated upon our children. Human trafficking, pedophilia, for profit education, vaccination’s filled with live viruses, steroids in the milk, shootings, fluoride in the water, enforcing racial divide, television programs for dummies, psychiatrists issuing psychotropic drugs, video games which lets our children enter the world of murder, drugs and crime in general with no feelings or consequences.

The move and the want for this country to be brought to her knees is not a new objective. Senator McCarthy was right in everything he charged, but the commies had more power and managed to convince America he didn’t know what he was talking about and that he was on a witch hunt.

Obama does not get to take the honors for the idea of “bringing America to her knees”, just putting the things in place to carry it off by a stroke of his pen and the attitude “what are you going to do about it.”

The recent shootings are also a focused agenda to tear down the 2nd Amendment, using our children as a sideways target, with the left declaring we do not need guns – you can hunt and provide your food in other ways.

What? That is not what the 2nd Amendment is all about and they know it. It is all about the PEOPLE being able to protect themselves from a tyrannical government that is “out of control”.

You need clarification of “out of control”? The FEMA camps all over the country is not a dream of the writer and the propaganda the government puts out about them is to defy the imagination. Can you honestly picture a natural disaster in the U.S. that would require 800+ camps? The Rex 84 Program was established on the reasoning that if a “mass exodus” of illegal aliens crossed the Mexican/US border, they would be quickly rounded up and detained in detention centers by FEMA.

Since the forming of that program we have learned the Progressive left certainly does not care if there is an influx of illegals since they refuse to close the borders and want all illegals to be legal. Why are they refusing to close the borders – Bush, Clinton, Bush, Jr., and Obama? Because each one of them are New/One World Order “wannabe’s” and with the open borders we would become the North American States eventually.

What role are the children to play in this? Well, we have just had our first graduating class of Obama “brown-shirts” who have spent most of their lives playing kill games and watching kill & horror movies feeling no attachment to the end results. Do you really think they will hesitate to take a gun to their neighbors especially when they are young (18-24), no feelings, paid and made to feel important. Most of them are also very immature.

And the Federal government wants to talk about gun control? What about putting guns in the hands of these children to be used against their fellow Americans? They do not want to arm teachers but will older students! A large population of our children is so messed up they don’t know their right hand from their left. They certainly cannot make change in a store or answer a direct question in detail unless you give them multiple choice answers.

They believe “free” sex means “doing it” whenever you feel like it. The consequences of that mean nothing to them. I recently watched a video of young Americans (age 20-30) being asked about their feeling in regard to abortion and almost 100% asked responded there was absolutely nothing wrong with abortion, sex on demand or that they should be held responsible financially if a child resulted. They are being taught immorality “should” be the norm.

In addition in the same video, most were willing to “kill for hire”! “What the heck, I don’t known’um.”

The schools should not be in the business of teaching or approving of sexual behaviors in students. It might be better for the whole country if they focused on abstaining rather than free condoms, showing them how to use condoms and taking our girls for free abortions without parental permission but at the same time they cannot have aspirin in their purse or backpack.

Our children swear at the drop of a hat! They are rude, arrogant, and dis-respectful and have no idea what they want in their future except for someone else to pay for it. Adding to that you have the Federal government passing legislation in favor of gay & lesbian agendas in the schools even to the point Obama’s first appointment to the office of the Safe School Czar was to a “for many years” homosexual.

I personally have no problem if you want to declare yourself gay or lesbian – I do have a serious problem that they think they have the to right behind the backs of parents to present programs to children as young as 10 “that they are probably gay but just do not realize it yet”. To me you are bordering on pedophilia!

The added us of our legislative process to write and pass legislation against “bullying” but in same legislation inferring the only bullying going on is against gays, lesbians and trans genders. So in how many school districts now is it alright for a student to choose on any given day what sexual preference he or she prefers to observe. Your daughter can dress as a boy and us the boys restroom and a boy can go dressed as a girl and use the girls restroom. This is with full support of our president I might add.

Where does this all come from? Mostly it comes from the first paragraph of this article and the rest from a slow, precise indoctrination through their education and the immoral world around them. You say not so! Really you ask? How many stories have you heard over the last year of Union teachers sending home union propaganda and endorsements of Obama in everything he does? Urging the students to convince their parents to vote for Obama – singing songs to his praises in school.

We set up an idol in the office of the president and at the same time tear down the very core of America – God, the Constitution, Flag, Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence and our Moral Fiber.

A recent reading test given to 3rd grade school children in Florida focused on how much better life is if your parents were part of a Union. It portrayed every aspect of the home life as better if your parents just paid Union dues.

I want to make it clear this writer is not implying ALL children fit into the above descriptions, but those who do not are in the minority. I can tell you my research shows if a child is raised in a Judeo/Christian home (even if unfortunately there is a divorce) with fundamental basics of morality, religion and respect, they see past the indoctrination process and even go home and tell their parents what is happening in their schools.

Beware – private schools are beginning to follow the push for the Charter school pattern of “for-profit”, public private partnerships by making deals with businesses to enforce the Communist “School-to-Work Opportunities Act of 1994 (the “School-to-Work Act”).

Parents we need to be paying more attention to what is happening to our children through their schools through political legislation without any true interest in what the end results are in regard to our children’s futures! . Don’t be fooled by fancy legislation titles and well laid out collateral plans by big business, foundations and money-changers!

Cuban Model Schools Are Here!

And here you thought all this time I was either exaggerating or making up the stories regarding Charter Schools being about “for-profit”, “public-private partnerships” with the end results a Cuban/Russian style school to work program of communism.

Case in point is the Cristo Rey Network which is boasting about their new Jesuit Charter school that targets vulnerable and at-risk youth in East San Jose, California. Their words not mine!

Credit for this innovative thinking is given to Father John Foley of Chicago which is the home of the Cristo Rey Network! Surprised? Father Foley and his team created a plan – to implement an innovative business model whereby students work five days each month in an entry-level job at a professional company, with the fee for their work being directed to underwrite tuition costs. (I am confused about what the money is to be directed to – one place it talks about tuition for college than other places it infers the high schools).

The Network was formally organized as a 501(c)3 organization in 2001 with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, along with venture philanthropists B.J. and Bebe Cassin, providing the seed funding to promote the replication of the Cristo Rey schools.

In 2012 The Walton Family Foundation announced its investment of $1.6 million in the Cristo Rey Network to open another 25 new high schools, primarily in states that have either vouchers or tax credits. At full enrollment, these 25 new schools will educate over 10,000 additional inner-city students every school-year. Florida will find this information interesting as Jeb Bush is a friend of Cristo Rey and Miami & Tampa are on the top of the list to be one of these new schools.

“We very much want to get to Florida,” former President & CEO Birdsell said in a phone interview. “Gov. Bush is a friend of Cristo Rey (and) he is persistent.”

Folks, this is using taxpayer dollars to fund private/religious schools! Florida, this was your Amendment 8.

The newest school, Cristo Rey San Jose High School’s charter was approved Dec. 12 by the Cristo Rey Network, which oversees 25 Cristo Rey schools in 17 states, 24 cities plus the District of Columbia and will open in 2014.

Getting the school off the ground has been a major effort of real-estate developer John A. Sobrato and venture capitalist B.J. Cassin, who are co-chairs on the Cristo Rey San Jose High School board. Earlier this year, Sobrato, chairman of The Sobrato Organization, made a challenge grant of $1.25 million to the school. The effort has so far yielded more than $2.5 million in startup capital. This is not chicken feed!

Cristo Rey schools offer Catholic, college-prep education to young people whose families make less than $35,000 a year in urban communities with limited educational options. Reading in one place the Network states 88 percent of its graduates go on to enroll in college, double the rate of their peers, and in another spot it shouts 100%. The breakdown of employment for the students is 29% other, and 13% in each Finance, Law and Medicine. Jobs arranged for them in a fee-for-service agreement between the school and corporate partners. (Their words not mine).

You can go to their website http://www.cristoreysanjose.org/ and there you can read their explanation of the “school to work” program in detail, however I suggest also looking the Network up online – figures are not consistent.

Partnering with more than 1,500 businesses, Cristo Rey schools are changing the face of urban education in the United States – so they say! Assuming the role of an employee leasing agency, the Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP) has streamlined the process for employing their students. Students are not on the payroll of the employing organization; rather they are employees of the school’s separately incorporated CWSP, which the sponsoring organization pays quarterly, annually, or monthly for the services of the students. A lot of choices! (Once again, their words not mine). I wonder who is filing the payroll tax reports even if they are $0.

Every Cristo Rey student takes a full course load of college preparatory coursework for four years, as he or she participates one day each week in a four-year CWSP to fund the majority of their tuition.

We have made many warnings as have others regarding the Charter School agenda for school to work programs. This applies if they are public Charter Schools or private/private religious schools using the Charter format. The number of religious schools putting these actions in place is outpacing the public schools. So in fact what they are doing is having the children work in advance one day a week for a payment into a program that is supposedly overseeing the funds for their high school or college education. We have not been able to clarify which.

The model Cristo Rey is intending to follow is the Cuba Model with a brand new idea added to the mix. In the Cuba Model both the place of employment and the school were government run. In this case, the school is a private Jesuit school which will be partnering with corporate employers, with what they are calling a “feasibility plan”.

The plan was written by a gentleman who works for a global corporate entity of Cisco. However, this model they are talking about is the Cuban model which is the guts of the school to work training program.

So the questions arise and I have many more questions as a parent than I see answers!

Are these corporate magnets obligated to pay minimum wage to the student’s credit? Is their pay instead being done as if they were being marketed through an employment agency with Cisco getting a large chunk for each student and then only partial payment going to the student? (According to the financial statement this would seem to be the case). When they start this program are the tuition fees locked into place or can they change the whole 4 years they are working toward their goal? Is there an agreement signed by the parents as to the children participating and the end obligation of CWSP.

Who are the actual people managing this program? What is protecting these children from financial theft by the overseers as we are seeing with Charter schools all over America? Are their deals already in place with colleges and universities that the students can only attend certain schools?
Before entering the program, students must attend B.O.O.T. Camp – you read it right.

“All students must complete this training to be accepted officially into a Cristo Rey school. For three weeks in July, students take courses in 7 Habits for Highly Successful Teens, computer literacy, and remedial math and English. (If the students entering this program are of such high level, why do they need remedial courses or exactly what is their requirement for entrance?) In addition, two courses are offered to develop the students’ soft skills and technical skills. A nationally-recognized business consultant, adjunct college professors, supervisors of students on the job, and the Corporate Work Study Program staff teach these work-study-specific classes.

During the three-week camp, students go on a field trip to an outdoor venue that features team building activities like a rope course challenge. Can someone please tell me why this is a requirement?

Listed on their web site are the Legal and Labor Implications:
The Cristo Rey Corporate Work Study Program operates as an employee leasing agent. (Just like an employment agency) The students are employees of the program, not the corporate client. In addition, the Corporate Work Study Program handles all payroll, W-4, I-9, Workers’ Compensation, FICA, FUTA and other employer concerns for the students. But who is overseeing the financial transactions of CWSP? As a 501 (C) (3) their financial records are actually private.

The fee charged to each business may be deducted as a business expense, not as a donation. Students assign their earnings from the program to their school to cover as much as 70% of the cost of their education.

Robert Birdsell, the recent departing President/CEO of Cristo Rey Network, recently gave an interview to the Catholic magazine, America Magazine, http://americamagazine.org/issue/697/article/catholic-alternative where he stated “It is essential to note that the money Cristo Rey students earn from their jobs covers most of their school’s operating costs. The remainder is covered by modest tuition payments and similarly modest fundraising campaigns.”

Does this mean the children are obligated to participate in fund raisers and modest tuition payments – what does that mean from a $35K income family? Now I am truly confused because I thought the school to work program was for the students to earn college tuition – this statement sounds to me like they are earning tuition to their high school. I am curious as to what age they begin the school to work program – are they 16? Appears not so as they participate for 4 years.

This last year Cristo Rey Network was awarded The World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) award. The program was referred to as a diverse offering with unique solutions to today’s most important challenges, from poverty to climate change. Solutions include unconventional business models to assist low-income families with affordable education, as well as original ways of bringing high-quality education to remote and destitute parts of the world.

I seriously have to ask the question – why do they continually have to refer to students as “low-income”? Or I like this one too – failure to educate the “poor minority”! Or making a point these children all come from an average of $35K household income a year. Maybe that is because they keep reminding them they are from low-income families rather than not talk about their families financial status and concentrate on their potential and encourage them to learn and that the sky is the limit to whatever they wish it to be. This is after America – I think!

Cristo Rey Network 2011 financial report indicated 7400 students, 96% of color, 100% were accepted to a 2 or 4 year college but another report stated 74% for the 2011 year.
