Sandy Hook Elementary School sits in a wooded corner of Newtown, Conn. This past December, 20 innocent children and 8 adults were murdered by a gun crazed young man, their lives stripped from them in seconds and their parents and families left devastated.
I am not going to address here who all the people involved were – we are all learning the truth about that. The outcome of this shooting though is bringing far greater consequences to America. Our President and the elected Legislators in D.C. and around the country were immediately ready with bills in hand to either put massive restrictions on the gun owners of America to make it impossible for them to have firearms for their protection or to confiscate them altogether.
America – guns don’t kill, the person in possession of the gun does. This is true of the person who uses a knife, baseball bat, or a bottle of alcohol and then gets in a car and drives.
In a report issued in 2005 by the University of Chicago American Academy of Pediatrics, there was as many parents killing the same number of children as were killed at Sandy Hook EVERY WEEK – BY THEIR PARENTS AND/OR CAREGIVERS! And it was not by guns! Should we cut off the hands of parents?
For some reason those children’s murders don’t seem to have the implications for enacting a national policy on gun control. Of course they can’t confiscate all the parents to make sure they will never kill one of their children – so what is the real motive here?
Obama in his pre-election speech in 2008 stated he would abide by the Second Amendment, that he believed in it and that he would never step between you and your guns. He also said he would never raise the taxes on anyone making less than $250K a year – not income taxes, payroll taxes –there would be no increase of taxes of any kind. All of this from a Constitutional lawyer!
Here we are in the beginning of 2012 and he is back tracking on everything he said in that speech. Why do you suppose that is? I suggested earlier today that it is only a tyrannical government that comes after your guns and maybe the tyrannical government needs to be removed. I was then asked if I was “advocating the overthrow of the government? No but – – –
Maybe the gentleman asking me that question does not remember we still have in this country a ballot box and the right to elect and un-elect our officials unless he knows something we don’t and he is aware the government intends to take that right away from us as well.
On January 16, 2013 the president stated “If there is even one thing we can do to reduce this violence, if there is even one life that can be saved, then we’ve got an obligation to try.” If this is true Obama, then I suggest to go back to your hometown of Chicago, show the same concerne for the citizens there and take care of the gun problem there in the city which has the strongest gun control laws on the country. The laws aren’t working because as usual the “bad” guys can always get guns”.
Our Founding Fathers knew what could lay ahead for America by the history of their own country and if we were not “watchful and diligent” America would slip through our fingers. They understood that men and women can be selfish, self-serving, potent engines, by which their cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled actions could and would be used to subvert the power of the people, and to also usurp for themselves the reins of government; destroying afterwards the very powers which had lifted them to their positions.
Hence, they gave us the Second, Fourth, and Tenth Amendments among others for added protection under the umbrella of the Constitution. The Fourth basically gives us the “right” of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects against all unreasonable searches and seizures. Our legislators have seen fit to dismiss this by the Patriot Act and the NDAA. (and yes they did have terrorists in 1776 – they were called British or anyone that agreed with the British)
The Tenth Amendment plainly explains that the powers not delegated to the United States as a whole by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
We all know what the Second Amendment is or if you didn’t I am sure you do by now. It gives us the right to a “well-regulated Militia”. A Militia in case you didn’t know it, simply means “WE the PEOPLE” – not a State regulated Militia but one formed by the people for the express purpose of protecting the “security of a free state and the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed”.
If we are going to allow the government to confiscate our guns because some sick individual went on a shooting spree, then why are we as a nation not insisting the borders be closed? How many US citizens have been murdered by illegals? Are those lives not as important? Between Sept 11, 2001 and 2006 there were 21,900 deaths by illegals which is more than the combined total of deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan for the same time period. In 2007 there were 267K imprisoned illegals who were responsible for 1.3M crimes in this country.
What about all the people who have been killed in auto accidents because someone who has a drinking problem and knew they shouldn’t be driving got behind the wheel and killed a whole family? Are we going to ban the use of cars in case someone gets drunk?
We will not even go into the violent games and movies of which have been put out to our children by a greedy industry for years. How about the mother who is drunk and pours gin into her daughters baby bottle and goes back to bed to find her daughter dead upon rising? Where is the ban on alcohol then? Or the parent who falls asleep smoking and kills her whole family – where is the ban on cigarettes?
Yet after all the discussion regarding our gun rights, the Second Amendment, and our government wanting to seize control of what guns we can or cannot have, our legislators are provided with Secret Service to protect them for life at a cost of millions to the taxpayers. Why is that? If we have no weapons what are they afraid of? Maybe this?
Does everyone believe that this government supported agenda is better over Americans having a gun for protection? The federal government calls them FEMA Corps, but they conjure up memories of the Hitler Youth of 1930’s Germany. Regardless of their name, in Oct., 2012 the Dept of Homeland Security graduated its first class of 231 Homeland Youth. Kids, aged 18-24 and which have been recruited from the President’s AmeriCorp volunteers. They represent the first wave of DHS’s youth corps, designed specifically to create a full time, paid, standing army of FEMA Youth across the country.
To participate in Americorp they must be 17 years old but they are not required to have a diploma. If they have not graduated, Americorp will help them get their GED, but it is not required.
What they aren’t saying is they are enlisting your babies into a government organization and putting guns in their hands.
America has become upside down in regard to the reasoning process by her people. They are tempered by emotions and not by rational, reasonable thinking which I believe comes from the Indoctrination which has been implemented on our children since at least the 1950’s.
Education is where it all began and education is where it needs to end! Our government wants our children dumb and it’s citizens unprotected!
Not only that – we as Americans have been set up – once again!
