Once again we see the White House thinking they have the right to invade the Education process of our children. I suppose that comes from the Federal government sending the states money for Education.
But wait – did they not get that money from the people first? Please correct me if I am wrong!
The White House has posted this press release on their site about a new corps of Master Teachers for STEM subjects that they are developing. In case you are not aware of what the STEM subjects are that are cropping up all over the country in our schools – it is Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a strong emphasis being placed on these subjects IF your child is so inclined. What is deceitful and wrong is the Federal government using blackmail and Federal funds to entice Teachers to join their new fancy core of teachers.
The Obama Administration has announced the President’s plan to create a national Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Master Teacher Corps. The STEM Master Teacher Corps will begin in 50 locations across the country, each with 50 exceptional STEM educators. (I am sure this statement is not intended to insult the rest of our teachers who are not selected to participate in this intrusive game). Over the next four years the Corps will expand to include 10,000 of the best STEM teachers in the nation. In joining the STEM Master Teachers Corps, these educators will make a commitment to champion the cause of STEM education in their respective communities, and will receive additional resources to mentor math and science teachers, inspire students, and help their communities grow.
For some reason improving America’s STEM education is one of President Obama’s top priorities. (I find this to be interesting when in fact everything they are doing and have done in the past 50 years was to ruin our children through education). As POTUS has said repeatedly, efforts to improve STEM education are “going to make more of a difference in determining how well we do as a country than just about anything else that we do here.” A world-class STEM workforce is essential to virtually every goal we have as a nation – whether it’s broadly shared economic prosperity, international competitiveness, a strong national defense, a clean energy future, and longer, healthier, lives for all Americans. If we want the future to be made in America, we need to redouble our efforts to strengthen and expand our STEM workforce.
I have to take pause here in that this is the first President this countries history that has openly shown such disrespect and distain for the WORKING people in this country who proudly refer to themselves as Americans. Everything he has put in place has been to eliminate the middle class.
The Obama Administration states they are committed to ensuring America’s students are prepared to succeed in an increasingly competitive economy. To do so, we must make sure effective, capable teachers are guiding our youth in the classroom. By creating a STEM Master Teaching Corps to inspire students, and by giving these educators the necessary resources to teach well, we are investing in America’s future.
Do we not already have faith that our teachers are “effective, capable teachers are guiding our youth” ? Do we need the Federal government intruding?
In a roundtable discussion with a group of K-12 math and science teachers at the White House, Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, Domestic Policy Council Director Cecilia Muñoz, OSTP Director Dr. John Holdren, and PCAST Co-Chair Dr. Eric Lander announced the proposal, of which the Administration will launch with the $1 billion allocated in President Obama’s 2013 budget plan currently before Congress. (And of course, if Congress does not approve the buget allowing for this massive expenditure we will be made very aware of that).
At the same time, the Obama Administration also announced the immediate dedication of $100 million from the Teachers Incentive Fund to help schools establish well-defined, attractive career paths in STEM education for teachers who excel. The program will require these highly effective teachers to model STEM instruction for their peers and take on additional responsibilities in their school districts. (See, you never really get something for nothing – at least not if you work).
Already, 30 school districts across the Nation have expressed interest in competing for this funding to boost their STEM programs. WAIT – WAIT! Does this remind you of anything? Did we not just do this for the glory of participating in “Race To The Top” and the Common Core Standards?” I wonder if they read the rules FIRST this time before applying? What are they getting us into this time?
The President’s proposals build off a carefully considered recommendation from the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) to applaud our Nation’s STEM educators, retain talented individuals by incentivizing STEM teaching, and encourage teacher cooperation to improve STEM education across the country.
So, to use the President’s own words, ” just to be clear,” he is creating an elite “subset” of Master Teachers within the teaching corps who will receive extra money and model their behavior for other teachers in just a few specific subjects that the government has decided are the ONLY things that will save our economy. That should be really great for everyone in the history, English, foreign language and arts departments. No money for you. And for everyone already teaching the STEM courses looks like there’s one more group you have to join if you don’t want to be left behind in the pay scale. It’s probably a safe bet that you get to be one of the 10,000 future Master Teachers only if you teach a certain way and certain ideologies.
Anyone else see this as a great way to keep global warming in the classroom? As the last “Mother Earth” day showed us, our children have had so much “green” propaganda poured over them, they are wishing all humans were dead because we are responsible for the animals dying and the animals are most certainly more important than humans.
Almost every subject being taught to our children from K-12 is focused around this lie of humans destroying the Earth. I do not for a minute believe any living human on this planet is deliberately trying to destroy the Earth – but the people telling the lies are trying to destroy the Human race.
The goal is to create a STEM workforce, not to provide worldclass education for kids, and he’s seeding this effort with $1 billion, but there is no plan for how such a program will continue to be funded and by whom.
Ever think about who is on the Domestic Policy Council? The one Clinton started in ’93 as part of his goal to “ensure coordination and communication among the heads of relevant Federal offices and agencies.

Does this list of individuals look like the people you think should be involved in formatting your children’s education? I wonder what tasks will fall under the “additional responsibilities” these Master Teachers will be required to take on in their school districts given this list of people who will be overseeing this program?
I wonder if the Union’s are supporting this or if the President has received enough donations from others that he has decided he no longer needs the Unions. Considering the people involved and what I have learned in regard to their true plans for our children – I would guess mind control & indoctrination are more to the point and the teacher’s are intended to be the vessels to implement it.
